Forgive me for not understanding. If this is what you mean by the tooltip, I don't see the 'Convert regions option' https://prnt.sc/vSzYG6_VG6wu. Additionally I even searched it in the world map settings and nothing came up. https://prnt.sc/gqN3R0y7om2P
Edit May 20th:
nvm I had an old version but I still don't quit get why the world map is changing even when I have update chunks to off
Are you talking about in chat? In that case no, nothing is said in chat but I don't know where I would need to look to find the game logs when regions disappear as you described in the post above? Also what's your Discord, it would be easier for me to contact you there.
Is it possible to update a World Map to a later version of Minecraft without losing the map. For example, on Wynncraft I had the full world map drawn for 1.12.2 but when I copied and pasted the folder into 1.19.4 (I use MultiMC), it deleted the entire map. Is there a way to have it so I can upgrade MC versions and keep map data?
Is there a way to see the chunk files that are used to generate the map on World Map? I see there is a folder of some sort but the format of the files is xwmc rather than MCA which is what I want. With the XWMC file format, I can't use MCA selector for that. Could you let me know if there is somehow a way to see the MCA files for the chunks that were saved?

How come my map updates in single player worlds even when I have it set to not update or load new chunks

Does that also apply even when I'm not using the vanilla launcher and using a launcher where they're entirely different instances?
I copied my Wynncraft folder from:
MultiMC\instances\1.12.2\.minecraft\XaeroWorldMap\Multiplayer_play.wynncraft.com to
MultiMC\instances\1.19.4\.minecraft\XaeroWorldMap and pasted the contents from the 1.12.2 version into 1.19.4
https://gyazo.com/0fa41734cc68444bfa8366207d0d738a what I mean when I say that it just gets deleted.
