What is your favorite/preferred base/building style?: I usually go for a small house, or a few smaller buildings, then expand underground for my working area/storage, utilities and what not, and then start terraforming the surroundings to incorporate different little niche areas for the same stuff, or just to stand back and look at, whether its creating a lake, rerouting rivers, or just making crazy "natural" looking structures from scratch to make an amplified sort of aesthetic to make some smaller buildings in and around. From there I like to decorate the sht out of everything from paths, to trees, to hell even passive mob "sanctuaries" if you might call them.
What aspect of vanilla gameplay draws you towards SMP? Terraforming is what I find the most rewarding as far as time and effort goes. I enjoy small interior design, but am not the greatest at mid to large scale buildings/houses/structures (also why I'm hard on the terraform). I like small cozy house designs, and exploration. Dude I even enjoy organizing stuff in this game... does that sound sad xD
Do you have any experience with Minecraft communities? Plenty. The biggest issue I have with places is the groups dying down slowly, and then people not wanting to even interact with the people in the community, never mind actually play on the server. So as you might know, an SMP server without any MP isnt much to play with.
Outside of Minecraft, what kinds of activities/hobbies do you enjoy? Fair bit of other gaming too, which takes up a chunk of my time, but when I have plans in MC that is generally my priority. I do need to learn to finish builds more, but I am getting better at that the more I play the game. I do a bit of photography, am pretty big into hockey and football, and am also finishing up my apprenticeship as an electrician currently.

How did you hear about The Sanctuary SMP community?: Well I actually used to play on the 1.14 verison with you guys. Life kinda got ahead of me and took over :/ You can see my post still on the old thread if you have any desire.

What is your favorite/preferred base/building style?: As my previous post I usually rock some sort of medieval build style, but I have been enjoying more of a modern / simplistic builds in the forest with some sort of wooden outpost.

What aspect of vanilla gameplay draws you towards SMP?: Always felt knowing gathering everything on my own without mods is the most satisfying. Trying things like "Terraformacraft" is enjoyable but vanilla I think can give/expose the most creativity.

Do you have any experience with Minecraft communities?: I've been playing this game for 11 years I think, so joining a community is the best thing. Most servers I have been on, I've usually joined the staff at some point as I do enjoy moderating / helping others as I can!

Out of Minecraft, what kinds of activities/hobbies do you enjoy?: Welp..on the last post I mentioned I purchased the LEGO Millennium Falcon, and I finished it. Took me about a month, and it's huge. But I work in the IT field, so I've been lately tinkering with Linux more often, and been enjoying learning that whole side of the computing world.

Thank you for your application Montyquill20, your application is currently a little lacking so I'm going to reject it. If you wouldn't mind either editing it or reposting it with some slightly more detailed answers that'd be great.

That's a fair point, hadn't considered that.

Unless the net is pretty hard to make or there's some drawback to using it, no support. It'd just be a superior lead at that point for most things and making another item completely redundant without there being some progression (EG stone tools make wooden tools redundant, iron makes stone tools redundant etc each tier is harder to get than the last) or reason to use a lead instead they may as well just change leads in some way instead.

Support for the idea, but not for the name. To smelt is to extract metal from ore, which is what we're doing ingame whenever we put ore in a furnace, and so smelter isn't really that reflective of what the proposed block does. "Upgraded furnace" would maybe work, but maybe not as it'd be a little confusing for some between upgraded furnace and blast furnace.

What is your favorite/preferred base/building style? Not sure how I'd describe it exactly, I tend to experiment with a lot of stuff and when I find something I like, I run with it. I'll attach a couple screenshots of my recently deceased Hardcore world's base though. (RIP)

What aspect of vanilla gameplay draws you towards SMP? Creative and resource limitations that encourage setting smaller-scale infrastructural goals to meet the quotas for my larger builds. There's something special about making cool stuff when the materials you're using take intentional planning to gather and utilize.


Do you have any experience with Minecraft communities? I've been a part of several over the course of my teen years, but it's been a while since I've really been invested in a server community, either because the population drifted apart or I burnt out and was captured by other titles.

Medieval, but I have dabbled with modern, steam punk, Nordic, and just freehand

What aspect of vanilla gameplay draws you towards SMP? I like community, I enjoy building by myself, but having an infinite world and infinite possibilities can get a bit lonely by your self. Some of the most memorable moments have been on SMP, and almost all were while in a discord with friends. I enjoy the cooperative play or even the competition. Love building towns with others and watching the natural progression as multiple builders blend ideas.

Do you have any experience with Minecraft communities? Yes, lots. Hosted for a while, then jumped around for a while. Typically the server dies out due to lack of interest. Or players get busy. Sort of the current state of the small server that I play on right now.

Outside of Minecraft, what kinds of activities/hobbies do you enjoy? Cars, Running, Playing with my kids, Drawing, Cooking. Video Games. Generally a pretty laid back person.

Realistic medieval style is usually my go-to, but I like to experiment and bring aspects from other styles into it to create something a bit more unique; I try to approach each project from a unique angle, so it's difficult to apply on broad term to it.

Building; while I love building in creative, survival adds an aspect of reward and challenge to it that really makes watching an area expand and evolve over time super satisfying - particularly if collaborating with other players or joining up builds. The community aspect really brings another dimension to it, playing the game is just more fun when you can talk to others or see other people's projects popping up, really brings the experience to life.

I've had a lot of experience in the past; I've been on a few SMP servers, hosted my own, and been in a build team, though I haven't been part of any of those in a few years now. It's something I'd really love to get back into.

I play piano, draw, love cooking - creative stuff really draws me in, probably part of why I enjoy the game so much. Aside from that I do the usual, films, music, gym, etc. Really want to get back into gaming since I've been a bit out of the loop for a while, and I think joining a community around that would really enhance that for me.
