posted a message on Could i get some info on the Motion tag?

It's not possible to edit player nbt in game in any version as far as I'm aware, so 1.13 isn't a problem.

Also, after trying a couple things I can't find a way to detect a range of values, but only specific values, and its also acting very strange when I'm trying out /execute if commands, so I'm not sure what's up entirely.

posted a message on Redstone Won't Connect To Sticky Piston

Restone will not power a piston on its side. The simplest solution to this is to replace the dust by the piston with any solid block, like cobblestone. Using your same key but c = cobblestone it would look like this.

    s c
    n r
    n r
    n b

posted a message on Help With Command

While it would be extremely difficult to get it to work with a right click, getting it to work on a dropped item is fairly simple. First, you'll just need your custom item to have some unique factor (in my example I used a sword with "DoggySword" as the lore tag). Then have a repeating command block run this command
/execute at @e[type=item,nbt={Item:{tag:{display:{Lore:["{\"text\":\"DoggySword\"}"]}}}}] run summon (Wolf data)

You can replace the display information with whatever you're using.

Then, have a chain command block connected to the repeating one that runs this command.
    /kill @e[type=item,nbt={Item:{tag:{display:{Lore:["{\"text\":\"DoggySword\"}"]}}}}]

This will cause the sword to be destroyed immediately after summoning the wolf.

If you have any questions let me know.

The simple answer is, there is not a way to do this with commands without hindering other aspects of the game. Functionality like this cannot be detected by the game (especially with the removal of sword blocking) without external mods like Spigot or Forge.

The long answer is that it is technically possible, but it would be very complex and I am not qualified to go into details about it, but I know it would hinder gameplay.

Edit: Whoops, never mind, I missed the part about the dropped item

posted a message on Could i get some info on the Motion tag?

Motion is a set of three values, x motion, y motion, and z motion. After testing around I'm guessing you're mainly using /data get on yourself, as it seems that when the player is grounded only their most recent y motion is saved. Try using it on a mob that's moving or right after a running leap into the air.

You can use /data merge, /data modify, or /summon to change/create motion for an entity artificially with something like this
    /summon pig ~ ~ ~ {Motion:[0.0,2.0,0.0]}
which will summon a pig that will move upwards into the air upon being summoned.

It is important when messing with Motion to have the 3 digits all have a decimal place, otherwise the game will not recognize it as a valid value.

If its just a specific spot you could have a chain of commands that starts with

/execute if block (coordinates) red_banner run kill @e[type=!player]

    /execute positioned (coordinates) run (command).

Using that you could do something like

    /execute positioned 123 45 678 run give @p[distance=..5] minecraft:diamond

posted a message on Do spawnchunks keep loaded with no players in a server?

Any chunks that are always loaded, such as spawn chunks or chunks selected with /forceload (or whatever the command is) will be loaded and active regardless of players being on the server as long as the server isn't being run from a singleplayer client through the open to LAN option.

You would need to find a way to decrease the delay between when the item is removed and when the hopper gets powered again.

posted a message on Mob farms and xp

This is an intended feature. Mobs only drop experience when they die due to a player or have recently taken damage from a player, including player lit tnt and fall damage from being pushed off by a player. Natural damage such as normal falling, cacti, drowning, fire, suffocation, or magma blocks will not cause experience to be dropped. If you deal damage to the mob near its death, such as you punching them, they will drop experience regardless of how they die as long as they die soon.

Unfortunately, fire charges shot from a dispenser can no longer ignite blocks by firing from the opposite side like this build has, so using the design in the video, it will not reignite the fireplace.

posted a message on [1.14.3] I need help creating a datapack that drops % chance items at a set location

What you'd want to do is probably make a custom chest loot table and then use this command on a redstone clock (or use a ticked function to count up to it)

    /loot drop (x, y, z) loot (loot table info)

One way to do it is to have the first function set a scoreboard objective and then have the other one check for that objective with an execute if command.
