posted a message on Why are containers pushable in bedrock edition but not in Java?

I'd imagine it has to do with how the containers were programmed, which were introduced before pistons, probably isn't compatible with whatever the piston does to move the block and they just haven't gotten around to updating that old code or something.

If this is Bedrock Edition, then granite is considered the same item as stone, but with different metadata, so you'd do
    /fill x y z x2 y2 z2 stone 1
    Or for polished granite
    /fill x y z x2 y2 z2 stone 2

posted a message on Nether Quartz

If you're talking about the ore, I dislike the idea as it is NETHER quartz, so it doesn't make sense for it to become embedded in stone when brought to the overworld. Not only would it be a strange feature for just this single ore to have and not all of them, but it would also make builds that recreate parts of the nether in the overworld impossible.

If you're actually just talking about the quartz block itself, I dislike the idea for the same reasons listed above.

posted a message on How do toggle flip-flops really work?

It's just a quirky behavior of sticky pistons where if they receive a single-tick pulse, they will only push or pull a block, and not both. This is why extending the delay causes what is a little more normal behavior, because the piston receives a long enough signal to perform its base functionality.

posted a message on Nether portal overworld location confusion

Nether portals will link to a location relative to where they are.

To find where a nether portal should be placed in the nether to link with an overworld portal, divide the x and z coordinates of the overworld portal by 8.

To find where a nether portal should be placed in the overworld to link with a nether portal, multiply the x and z coordinates of the nether portal by 8.

posted a message on Villagers won't change trades (not professions)

If you haven't traded with them at all you can remove their work station (the lectern) and wait for them to abandon their profession. Afterwards, place it back down and wait for them to become a librarian again. This will only work if you haven't done a single trade with them, as after that they are locked into their profession.

posted a message on Execute if block

The unless is so it doesn't keep replacing stone slabs with stone slabs, but doesn't really serve any purpose.

As for killing ones that have already placed one you could do another repeating command that has

    /execute as @e at @e if block ~ ~ ~ minecraft:stone_slab run kill @s

posted a message on Execute if block

If you're wanting other entities to move around and place stone slabs to prevent spawning, it would be more like.

    /execute in minecraft:the_nether at @e[distance=0..] if block ~ ~-1 ~ minecraft:netherrack unless block ~ ~ ~ minecraft:stone_slab run setblock ~ ~ ~ minecraft:stone_slab[type=bottom] replace air

posted a message on Short-circuiting devices - Why did this change ?

With the redstone torch under the door, and without the redstone torch being cut off, the door will always be powered and thus, unless right clicked by the player, remain in the open state (which would technically be a closed door as you have placed the door sideways).

As for what I said about it being a bug, that was just as guess as to why it worked in older versions, when in theory it should have never worked as you describe it.

posted a message on Short-circuiting devices - Why did this change ?

Since the redstone torch is always providing power to the door, it will always remain open despite any external updates, which I believe is mechanics working as intended. I think that design is based on a bug in how things used to process redstone updates.

posted a message on Is there such thing as a 0 tick pumpkin farm? And if so, is there a survival friendly design?

From my understanding, no, as the zero tick bug only works by moving the block the plant is on, which you can't do with farmland without it turning to dirt.

    Are you playing Bedrock edition?

If so the command should be something like
    /execute @e[type=item,nbt={Item:{tag:{display:{Lore:["{\"text\":\"DoggySword\"}"]}}}}] ~ ~ ~ summon (Wolf data)

Possibly, I'm not too familiar with Bedrock's /execute
