I've always assumed Creepers were some sort of insect. That their only mode of attack entails suicide implies a hive psychology like that of bees where each creeper is an expendable extension of the entire hive's group consciousness, and insects are the only sort of animal I know where some species have the ability to explode or create explosions when threatened. Plus, there are plenty of insects with the appearance and texture of leaves. Everything points to insecthood.
I mean, yeah, they have only four legs, but perhaps there's an undeveloped vestigial third set hiding inside that carapace somewhere.

I haven't played in a while, but I just downloaded the latest version and I noticed that the paintings are no longer animated and the connected textures don't seem to be working (animated blocks and items still work though). Is this a problem with the game, the mod, or the pack?

Wait, wait, wait, what? Resource packs have the ability to rewrite the loot tables now?

Personally, I'm a huge fan of discord, though this site you've linked to is unfamiliar to me

Maybe like mutant animal skins or salvaged plate metal or something? A scavanged riot shield, perhaps? The side of an old (small) shipping crate? A car door (pounded flat)? A cabinet door? A refrigerator door? One of those squarish manhole covers on hinges (you know the ones I'm talking about, right)? An ironing board? The back of a chair? The dish part of a satellite dish or radar array? Tea tray? Large book? Several books duct-taped together, end-to-end? Banged-up flatscreen TV (or would that be too modern)? One of the smaller wings from an aircraft and/or a wing from one of the smaller aircraft? Outer door from an aircraft? A less important character? The power of positive thinking?

Mesa biomes only contain 6 of the available 16 colors of stained clay. Couldn't you just have natural clay textures for those 6 and artificial clay textures for the remaining 10? Or perhaps textures that could conceivably pass as either natural or artificial? The old pebbled and marbled non-CTM stained clay looked passably natural. Perhaps something riffing off of those?
Just throwing out ideas here.

Oh man, I wish. Sadly, the Minecraft engine doesn't support Escheresque non-euclidean geometry.

Don't censor me!

They're not called "disco mountains" for nothing, chemosabe

Do my eyes deceive me, or are the various alternate paintings now equipped with RandomTextures instead of all being the same but changing every couple of seconds?

Oh, I have exactly the same problem with my own pack. Well, mostly the same. You can actually occasionally be bothered to work on yours, which gives you a significant advantage.
It's still active, I swear. Just noticeably so.
I just wish they could find a way to add wood to the pile without periodically un-chopping the wood that's already been taken care of, especially since, assuming we're willing to stretch the metaphor well beyond reasonable limits, that's technically violating the laws of thermodynamics or something. Though I think I recall reading something about scientists successfully managing to unscramble an egg under laboratory conditions a couple years back. I'm sure that research has plenty of real-world applications. What we really need is a way to un-burn toast.

I'm not gonna lie, the old card catalog bookshelves always struck me as rather dull. Especially when I wanted to build a library. These new shelves, though. These are gorgeous.

Does the bump-mapping work out-of-the-box, or do I need to install something to make it work?
0
Well yeah, you'd kinda have to. I mean, if you only do it occasionally, is it really stalking?

Holy crap, are those textures bump-mapped? How'd you do that?
