Then you deleted the old millenaire0.3.8 zip file from mods, right?
The zip included in the "put in mods directory" is self-contained, it doesn't need any previous version zips to help it out. Even the upgrade ones have everything they need, so always delete or move the older millenaire zips from your mods directory.
What happens when there are more villagers than there are signs in the archive? :smile.gif:
I updated my circular solar array, and updated the post on the second page with a link to the download. (or click here to download) I'll have the other buildings updated shortly.
Anyone wondering how to install buildings, see my post on the second page. Basically, click Start->Run (XP) or paste the following into the 'search' bar (Vista/7)
%appdata%\.minecraft
There are all the 'omg teh secretzorz' minecraft files, like world saves, the bin folder which contains the jar, and hopefully the millenaire directory from where you installed Millenaire. Go into the millenaire directory, inside that is a 'buildingplans' directory - inside THAT is core, extra, and custom. Custom is where you put custom buildings. Technically they can go in any directory, the sorting is just to make things easier for you. Put your custom building files in here. There is no longer any main listing for the files in these directories, you don't need to edit custom.txt or anything like that any more.
If the files end in _A0.txt or _B0.txt or things like that, they are updated to the v3 format. IF not, they are still v2. You can still edit them by hand, it is very easy, look at the example files in Extra compared to the files you want to install, and make the appropriate changes.
The water won't update until a nearby block changes, you can use a bucket to pick up the top block, and put it back down, and it will flow normally. OR the smoothstone upgrade will cause a block update and 'fix' the fountain.
An alternate build method would be to have an 'upgrade' come right after the water that simply placed a single plank block under the water source block.
My builder died and her ghost is finishing the building. Not even making this up. There was a shadow walking around and talking to me while the building progressed, and no builder was on site.
The map is from 0.3.8, I'll try making a new map later. This is like my 50th test map with Millenaire, I'd like to actually finish a city for once. :biggrin.gif:
NPCs definitely have more pathfinding issues in this, I'm watching a builder teleport back and forth over a 2 tile distance. Shoving her and using the fishing rod is not helping.
Anyone having trouble with population growth or child growth: Are you sleeping through the night? That's when children grow and NPCs reproduce. Get the mod that lets real time pass while you are asleep, or don't sleep at night.
I just updated to v4. Apparently the archives take 800 cobblestone to build... That seems a bit high for such a small building? I'm watching them build it and counting the cobble per floor, and it's over by like 600. I looked at the building plan, I don't see 800 gray pixels in there.
I guess it is all the stair roofs, since it takes 6 cobble to make 4 stairs. (The NPCs get 4 stairs per right? Like players do?)
... and I'm getting the 1 FPS issue again. :sad.gif: Quitting and reloading made it go away for the time being.
I love the description for tripe. :smile.gif: I know what it is already tho. :biggrin.gif:
I'm using the default config and one of the completely flat creative maps, and they don't seem to build very much of anything unless I specifically tell them to. I even placed a "Construction Zone" sign. Only one town was built, no other structures. All the builder types seem to be spawning, and they have structure limits greater than zero. Explorers aren't even placing torches.
umm yeah mine says look at building plans folder when i load the game what do i do?
Look in the zip file you downloaded, there's a folder labeled "Put in minecraft folder" - inside is a directory named "millenaire" - extract that directory to %appdata%\.minecraft - the entire directory, not just the contents, look at the pic inside the zip file you downloaded titled "Positions in minecraft directory.png" - there is also a readme, follow the instructions.
Maybe support in the config file for blocks to avoid building a city near, and for NPCs to avoid? That way, players could add the block ID for custom liquids and such to it, and it would work better with other mods that way without needing too many internal tweaks by the author.
That said, FiniteLiquids looks sweet, I'm going to try it.
Edit: Anyone here good with skins? The author is asking for help with them.
Help Wanted
- A committed skin-maker, willing to produce 20 to 30 skins (all the villagers, with multiple variants for each). Please don't contact me if you can only make a few.
2: the farmers fail at farming... they trample their crops, and only replant a few every day. Just make them like spiders, which don't trample crops, and then they will be successful farmers
And their spouses and children too please. In fact, all the villagers should not trample crops if at all possible.
That's already the case...
I just watched one of the children trample some crops. It doesn't seem to be working all the time.

7-zip. http://www.7-zip.org/
Right click the jar file, and under the 7zip menu will be an option to "Open Archive"

The Forge.
It might need a resident, I'm not sure. They also need iron.
