    edit: heres an image of the problem. no mcpatcher doesn't fix it, it only makes the game lag horribly. i installed this the way it's meant to be installed (putting the zip file in the texture pack folder) and it runs flawlessly.

    They just need to get some code repository that only modders had access so that they have no problem with the obfuscation of the code, since the code remains the same, but the obfuscation changes.

    Minecraft began being developed by 1 man: Notch.
    Notch is not an graphical artist, and it is hard to do pixel art with high resolutions,but is the easiest to give detail without a steady hand.
    Then when minecraft got famous the pixelated graphics stood with it, so the new artist couldn't really let it go.

    I think they only did it because it would be hard to keep changing the position of the items on the grid while trying to figure out the recipes, so prolly there won't be that in the pc XD.

    You can change water's opacity in the config file.
