Please don't hang me if I'm posting this in the wrong area...but..maybe I can get some help.
This is my 1st attempt at using a shader mod.I want to use it with the Life In The Woods mod pack so I downloaded everything needed.I was trying to use Sildur's Vibrant shaders and then tried a different "Lite" pack yet I get almost zero frame rates.Am I wasting my time with my current pc set-up?...I thought it was decent.

6.GB RAM
64 bit Operating System
2 NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT ( just updated)
Not sure what other info would be useful.
Also the modpack runs 1.6.4 so I am using the 1.6.4 shader pack etc.
Having an issue with runing this.I went to your site and downloaded the 1.4.7 zip file and added the No Shader to my tp folder.My minecraft is currrent at 1.5.1.Dumb question but is that why the tp isnt fully working for me.I'm sure thats the reason because as I type I know I'm answering my own question.But wanted to make sure.
your mental age:Depends on how many drinks I've had.But I'm not too bad.Getting old is scary.So I try to keep it young.
cake or pie:Oh cake without a doubt.Vanilla cake with rainbow chip frosting.
what would you be doing on the server: Probably a bit of hermiting until I find a place to call home.Would prefer to find a village and set up shop there.
rule #3:Like most people have said,cut the whole tree down and replant.And nothings more annoying then a random crafting table in the middle of know where.

My gameplay is very much of an explorer.Love going on long trecks looking for dungeons etc.My builds tend to be rather small although I'm trying to go a bit bigger.I'm a rather quiet person and won't be a bother to anyone.
I still consider myself being a new player.I know what a snapshot is but heres my questions.
If I use the current snapshot when 1.3 comes out will my game update without issue?
Do I have to make a 2nd copy of my worlds before using a snapshot.(I would assume yes)
In my current version 1.2.5 what would happen to my world if I use the current snaphot.Would I be able to find emeralds in my 1.2.5 world?Can I trade with my villagers?
Then when 1.3 comes out will my current world using the snapshot get screwed up?Probably goes back to saving my world right before?
Sorry for what may seem like silly questions,I just really want to use the newest snapshot but am afraid to ruin my current world.
Also I see something about making a copy of minecraft.jar file to save my current stuff.Do I just rename it to like minecraftcopy.jar? Then download the snapshot.

No pictures really.Being so new to Minecraft still I really enjoy exploring the maps.Looking for mineshafts and dungeons have been my most enjoyable things to do so far.My homes generally end up being small and simple.Function not fancy.I think with the right server/area I'll get into building a little more.

Would really prefer a server thats run by someone well into there 20's even 30's would be nice.I'm 33 and having a really hard time finding a server thats not either run by kids or the majority of players are kids.
Would prefer:
20 slots or less
Whitelist/straight up private
Basic Plugins like chest locking and anti-cheats etc.
No super fancy huge massive spawns.Simple is nice.
Maybe I'm asking for too much but I guess we'll see what kind of responses I get.

Describe yourself: I'm an avid gamer of mostly MMO's such as WoW/Rift/SWTOR and now only Minecraft.
One question for you... What about griefers....I hate to spend tons of time building/collecting to just have someone ruin/steal it.Any protection/detection/replacing items in place?
