I've found the TNT by spawn, in the statue and in the road by spawn. Any other places?

I went in /indev today and spawned a new map. It was not an infinite map. None of the ones I spawned were. Did Notch take them out? Also, as a side note, I keep making wood pickaxes, I get something from stone but nothing from gold/iron. Anyone else have this?

See above post. In MP survival, Yes. It would be a great idea and would really love it. In classic mode, NO. It restricts things too much.

More of a plea than a suggestion, but so help me god this is getting annoying, I keep trying to make a little walkway on Indev on a floating map but I find it near impossible for 3 reasons.
1: Fire and other hazards like hights.
2: Running out of blocks (You can only do so much with 99 blocks...)
3: Falling to my death

So I cam up with a suggestion. Another options menu, below or inside the current option menu that you can only access in singleplayer called "Game options" Inside you can manipulate the game slightly. Options I have come up with:
Take damage
Infinite blocks (Instead of 99, you have them like in creative mode.)
Gravity (NOT NOCLIP! It just makes it so you can walk on air like you normally can walk on blocks. Almost like a sea of invisible blocks that you can walk on. Jumping does nothing)
Disable NPC's (Or whatever you call those schoolgirl things. They get in my way alot and lag if there are alot of them so I think EVERYONE can agree with me here)

And I can imagine it cannot be THAT hard to code...

Now I know what your thinking:
Get hacks? I can't play on Indev then and that is the only place with the level editor.
Play casual mode? See above
Get better/L2Play? No.

Just a small suggestion, ignore it if you want but I think it might make the game better atleast in indev mode.

Oh, and I can't forward my ports and stuff because I have a modem, not a router.

I've been playing Minecraft for quite a while now and decided to make a forum account. My friend and I wanted to make our own server. Private at first and then public. For some reason it works fine for me, but when my friends tries to connect, he gets a loading error. Any help would be appreciated. I have all the server tools.
