BobCraft is a server owned by me, Bobbahbrown. It is a 64 Slot survival server, running on 4 GB of RAM. We have helpful staff and multiple measures to protect against griefing. We currently run CraftBukkit.

Well, for me, minecraft lag is the strangest lag I have ever encountered. (MC:MP Lag, interwebz)

It seems that while you lag extremely (Long time between server responses), the server seems to be sending data to the client fine.

Example, I just joined a server and I am lagging horribly. I say "Hi" in chat, it takes about 20 seconds to appear. The other player in the server is right beside me, and highly visible. As soon as my message appears on the server, I can see him stop, then start moving and about half a second later his message will appear.

Strange, right?
