I was hoping that that'd work, but it's still outputting even on a failure.

I have OptiFine HD D1 Ultra if that'd make a difference, which I don't see why it would. 1.7.4.

posted a message on /testforblock comparator output stays on forever on one strength
I'm trying to use /testforblock in order to see when a block is destroyed (testing for air). I don't have it on a comparator clock, but instead a slow repeater clock. However, once the command is run, the comparator next to it lights up, whether the air block was successfully found or not. Then no matter how many times the command is run and returns true or false, it still outputs a signal of one. There is no way to get it to stop outputting unless I break the entire command block all together.
    /testforblock 424 203 -412 minecraft:air

That's the command I'm using. I see that some other people were having this problem, but for some reason i can't fix it myself.

posted a message on MCEdit: Minecraft World Editor (Now open source!)
I'm running Ubuntu 12.10 and trying to run the latest version. I did everything required as of these instructions, but when I try to do the command "python mcedit.py", I get this:
    (ENV)user@Inferno:~/mcedit$ python mcedit.py
    Traceback (most recent call last):
    File "mcedit.py", line 8, in <module>
    import OpenGL
    ImportError: No module named OpenGL

I don't know what else to really say. Any ideas would be fantastic.

    Thanks for that.
I felt stupid for not thinking of that, but after a bunch of Google searches and accidentally disabling OpenGL and freaking out, I can confirm that that did not change the FPS, sadly.

posted a message on Nothing gets me above 60 FPS
    Specs:

    Ubuntu 12.04 LTS
    Intel i5 3570k Quad
    8G DDR3 1600mhz (OC) Corsair Vengeance
240GB SSD (Only 120GB partitioned to Ubuntu, because I can't afford crap-Windows for my convenience.)
    ASUS P8Z77 MoBo
and Antec 750W PSU and MSI DVD burner.

Intel HD 4000 for graphics. I don't have a GPU yet because I am still saving up for that.

Okay, so, Minecraft runs like a charm on this new computer; in vanilla there is practically nothing I can do that gets me below 60 FPS. Only problem is that it never goes above 60 FPS. I have tried installing OptiFine, and still, a max of 60 FPS. I can see an occasional 61 or 62, but when I set the render distance down and graphics to fast, nothing. The only difference between a far render distance and fancy graphics and the opposite is that I see actually see an FPS dip when I record, to about 50 FPS on the higher graphics and such.
So, is it some sort of setting that limits Java to that FPS? I know that I don't have Minecraft set to v-sync, and even multicore OptiFine does nothing past faster world loading. Any one else had this problem?

I did find a related topic, but the people just argued about how fast the human eye could see, so no help. I can't find anything through Google; too many unrelated results.

Thank you for that time you just gave me. :)

posted a message on Fraps hotkey won't work for Minecraft
I tried using it on Portal, but the same thing: the button did nothing.

Now, please don't kill me, but...
I should have mentioned that I am running Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS...
If that is anything important, then I am really sorry.

I want to try and use Fraps to record my Minecraft gameplay, but the hotkey to record won't work. After Googling, I saw that it will only work with something like DirectX games and the like. So, how do you record Minecraft, then?

posted a message on Ubuntu 12.04.1: Can't download .JAR
I just built a new computer, and I wanted to try Minecraft on the Ubuntu half of it. The only problem is that it won't let me download the JAR from the Minecraft website. I click on the link to download the JAR, but nothing happens. It doesn't download it anywhere.
    Halp?

When I try to use Minecraft on my USB-boot Ubuntu it says "Login failed". I am new to Linux, so if you know how to fix it you'll have to baby me through it. :P Thanks for the time. :)
If there is any other information I need to provide please let me know.

    Quote from GarrysGlitch

So you're saying Minecraft doesn't work whether or not OptiFine is installed? Optifine is irrelevant to your problem and you're looking for help in the wrong place.

I do believe I said that it didn't happen UNTIL I tried using OptiFine. It wasn't UNTIL I tried OptiFine that the problems started. Thank you.

Also, I have even tried redownloading the /bin folder...

I have no idea what is going on, but Minecraft won't run at all when I try to load a map. Vanilla, OptiFine, nothing. I've tried using Magic Launcher .0.9.7, the default.
For the first few times, I get an error message. After a bit I don't get any.

This is the error I get.
Any help would be loved. :)

I've had a problem with Minecraft, and I was wondering if it might be fixable or something.
When the FPS are low enough, I will often get two placed blocks with one click. As you can imagine, this makes some stuff extreme frustrating and rage worthy. The game lags when I place the block, and then acts like I clicked twice. Thoughts? Fixable? Maybe eventually added?
