Yeah, both of them worked great. On a side note, is there a way to put a switch/button 2 blocks high without having the wire visible? Preferably just 1block on top of another. On my current project I'll probably be able to hide the wires in a wall, but I usually prefer buttons/switches to be 2 blocks high so it would come in handy to know If it's possible. And thanks again for all the help!

Thank you very much! That picture did wonders! For some reason I just wasn't getting that from the diagrams and I'm usually pretty good at interperating them.

Google an Rs NOR Latch. That should do the trick

Rs NOR latches are also known as memory cells

I don't think a NOR latch is going to work. It has an input and a reset. I want to be able to open/close from either button regardless of what state the output is in.

Been playing around with some piston doors and I'm having a bit of a problem. I need a circuit that will power the pistons but can be toggled from either side. Right now if the outside lever is pulled and I'm inside I can't close the door. So I need a circuit with one output that can be toggled from two separate inputs independent of each other. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you have any problems with it, let me know. I've built this so many times now I pretty much know it off by heart. I also have enhanced the design quite a bit, as I don't use a 'timer' based reset latch, instead i use a system that detects when the sand falls below a certain level, and uses a timer that lets me adjust the speed at which the sand stacks, which is useful for when you get various lag within your game. The version your building is petty fast, and pretty much is a non-stop 'no way to slow it down' version.

I built it on 1.7.3 and also in 1.8.1 and in 1.0.0 i think thats the version were at now, somewhere around there and got it to work. It wasn't until recently that we started to really play with various farms on the xbox that we started to perfect some of the designs and scale the redstone to something that works well on the xbox. Sometimes its only slight changes compaired to the PC, other times it involves pretty much a whole new design.

Got it working! Needed the extra couple repeaters in the loop to make the sand go high enough. Would love to see some of the modifications you've made to the speed and reset latch.

Thanks! I ended up getting it "working" last night my own way. Will have to take a look at the video when i get out of class today. Main problem im having now is only half the tree is going thru the hole in the top. Probably going to end up building one in creative to play around with.

Look at the description in the video, theres a link to the xbox fix.

Any chance you could link me to that please? The only links I see are for YouTube.com and imgur.com. And neither take me to anything but the default site home pages.

Though this design is compact, it uses alot of bonemeal per tree due to 'restricted tree growth'. Also there's a chance that if a oak tree is used without limiting the growth height of the tree that a big tree could grow and cause a real mess.

Sand stacking tree harvesters are superior to this design, though a bit more complicated to build, and sometimes a bit finky, they are much better. Eedze has a real good tutorial for making one thats been improved by PearsSquirl. The tutorial though made for PC does have a 'xbox' fix to make it work on the xbox. The tutorial can be found here

I have made this on the Xbox but since then I have made some pretty drastic changes to the way it works, by implementing a 'repeat sequencer' and tripping the latch when the sand falls below a certain level, rather then having the latch reset itself.

Any chance I could get some instructions on getting it to work on Xbox? I can't place red stone on glowstone so I'm assuming that's where my problem is. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
