posted a message on What is the highest XP level you have gotten legit in vanilla minecraft in survival?

My highest level is about 55 to 60. This was mainly in 1.6 when levels were needed more for enchantment. This was mainly murdering mobs at night and farming quartz in the nether for most of the experience. I generally don't use mob grinders unless I need resources (like arrows or bones for example).

I prefer Nighttime myself. I hate early mornings regardless of whether I get proper sleep the night before or not: I am zombie mode for the next hour once I wake up lol.

posted a message on Survival VS Creative?
I mainly play Survival. I will use Creative to do mock-ups of building designs to see what does or doesn't work. This way I do not waste resources with trial and error I would have in a survival world.

posted a message on How do you handle your money?
A bi-weekly budget. This is daily spending to discipline myself into not spending over stupid junk. That and learning to make due with what I have at the house (I do not live on my own) and not spending 10,000 on Burger King.

I try to spend as little as earthy possible; in some instances I refused to spend for health concerns (which is not a very good idea). Lately I've (at least as far as I see it) I've been spending too much. Granted I will have some money left over in the back this "cycle", but I spent too much. When it comes to moving out and living, it's not gonna happen as I barely make enough to keep my obligations and move into my own place. Once car payments are over with I can definitely do that I pay for:

    *Car Payments
    *Car Insurance
    *Phone Bill
*Care Credit (Credit Cards for Health Care...yay).
*Rent to my family (as I don't mooch)
    *Health Insurance (starting this year)

Once Car Payments are completed, i'll be able to afford 400 - 700 dollar rents in this town. This isn't even including utilities (Internet Water Electricity and etc).

posted a message on So minecraft encourages violence against women .. aparently.
    Quote from echonite»
There has never once been a link between child violence and violent video games. Jack Thomas was a lawyer who was trying to prove a link between school shootings and video games, but he ended up being disbarred for it.

And if video games somehow desensitize and promote violence, then go watch some REAL videos of REAL people being ACTUALLY killed. That will scar you for sure. People can easily differentiate fake from real, and no amount of fake death can take away the impact of real death.

    ^Agreed 100%

Looks like another example of a government entity (or media entity or whatever you want to call it) trying to pass judgment on something that have no understanding of.

    • There are no "levels"
    • The game does not overtly say "Go kill women"; it just so happens a potential enemy is a witch.
    • The game primary focus is not violence (like most games that include violence it not being the mainstay).

Why do people have to make a big deal out of innocent games like Minecraft? Don't they have more important things to do?

Apparently not. Much how human society, in general, needs something to complain/argue over.

posted a message on Are you an introvert or an extrovert?
    Quote from _clementine»
It's quite odd in my opinion - on the internet, introversion seems to be preferred, but in real life, I'd say that extroversion is the "ideal."

In real life, it always seems like extroversion is the "best way to go," while people who prefer solitude or don't like being with a lot of people at once seem to be "pitied." It feels like being able to liking being around lots of people pays of in situations such as getting jobs and all. I don't know - that's just how I perceive it.

There's definitely truth to that. Due to introversion you are alot less likely to network with folks (employers, employees and etc). Extroverts have qualities that make them ideal in certain situations just like Introverts do, but because of stigma associated Introverts people tend to say Extroverts are better (when this is completely false as a productive workplace needs both to be successful).

I am Introvert. There are times where I just want people to leave me alone because I spent the whole day interacting with customers. That and I tend to not have much small talk or avoid it altogether. When I get into the "zone" I tend to zone out things that are not relevant to the task at hand (not purposely or out of spite); this is especially true when I am at work.

posted a message on YouTube is dying
I also feel there needs to be a distinction between Youtube itself and the community. I am pretty sure most of you are going to agree with this: the community a cesspool of garbage. Spending 5 minutes in a "popular" youtube comments section will give you proof enough. Youtube is not dying. Everyone on it is trying to get their quick 15 minutes of fame with diminishes the overall worth in some folks eyes. Me personally I won't ever stop watching Youtube. Will you see crap content? Of course, because people trying to get popular with little to no effort.

Don't get me wrong, there are good folks and a "good" part of the community, but when the majority of the comments are about people losing their minds over trival matters it leads you to question what people are doing.

posted a message on What is the stupidest scam you have ever seen?
Those phone scams were someone calls saying they're from Microsoft and they need to get access to your computer because they think you have a virus. They're stupid enough to not check their numbers and they called my office an IT company not once but twice.

I picked up the phone the first time and literally said, "Hey, do me a favor: scam harder."

The second time my superior picked up the phone did a hilarious thing where he put him on the hold to get into contact with the FBI. My superior then took him off hold and was saying something along the lines of "Ok hold on a sec I am going to get the FBI and we can have a conference call." The guy on the other end started going "Screw you! You can't do nothing! You can't do nothing!" and hangs up the phone.

posted a message on Mobs DO spawn on high half slabs in 1.8
    Quote from CobaltShade»
Slabs that are placed on the upper half of a block do spawn mobs, as their top surface lines up with the top of the block. The same goes for upside-down stairs...

I use upside-down stairs often in my builds as part of roofs, but I have yet to see a mob spawn on top of them then ambush me as I walk out of my house.
