    I guess the modder would expect more details regarding your opinion. You express a rather strong dislike in your post but fail to tell what exactly makes you dislike it. It is a WIP, so the modder is experimenting with the mod and definitely needs your suggestions of how to make the mod better.


    All of the features he added in the latest update I dislike. The last version was much better. As Ive said and Config for a Majority of the features would fix alot of this.

    Next on my list-

    Finish off core functionality.
    -balanced method to create links between dimensions
    -remove bedrock from pockets

    Make rifts do cool stuff, like consume blocks around them
    -rifts may slowly exchange blocks around them with the black dim blocks
    -lots of rifts in one area will be bad. Think thinny from the dark tower novel.

    add naturally generating rifts
    -lead to a different type of pocket dim that is infinite. Usually these will contain ruins/items/mobs, but rarely they will be a nexus that links to other rifts scattered around the world
    -I havent decided if I will let the player generate these infinite dims. If I do, it will not be a safe process.

    add "unstable" rifts, that change destination dim every time they are used.
    -can be controlled eventually, allowing for a single door to lead to many locations.


    And just like that I no longer like the mod. Disappointing really.

    1. add a distance multiplying system, so moving 30 blocks in a dim thats 4 deep will move the player an equivalent of 120 blocks in the overworld.

    2.Thinking about ways to allow the player to link between multiple dims, and I have two ways of doing it so far, see what you think

    3.One- add a 'bottom' dim, so that after nesting pockets a certain depth, you eventually arrive at sort of a connection place, where ALL pocket dim chains will eventually end up, regardless of what dim they started in. This way, you create a link from the overworld down deep enough through the pockets to the connecting dim, and when you arrive, any other links from any other world will be present.

    4.the other way- Standing in a pocket dim, you can create an item (or something) within a pocket dim that you can use to create a door that will ALWAYS lead to that specific pocket dim.

    Ill go back over all the ideas you people have posted when I have a chance, its 2 am here, and I need a clear head to parse such brilliant ideas.


    I cover most of these but for the things I dont cover I will reply to.

    1. I feel like it shouldent do that. I think the dimension would be cooler if they felt 100% disconnected from the world, as if they dont exist in the first place. Like in Doctor who the episode where they go Outside of the Galaxy.

    3. I... I dont know i really really dont like this idea. Its cool but just... you can do that on your own using my ideas.

    I added this onto the idea because of the Arcane Door since it does that in the first place.

    1. Make the Fabric of Reality unbreakable or it doesn't drop when you break it

I think that there should be a randomly generated something that has a chance to pop up in the pocket dimension, although far from walking distance it should be just visible from when you start, so it's barely there and you walk towards it, like it's a dream. May contain loot or another Rift door to some strange place

    4. The OCCASIONAL (seriously, not very common) creature, like timespace worms. (What I mean is, some sort of creature that could, again, veeerrrrrrrrrrrry rarely, come through the ground. Strange little trapped things from other dimensions that could've used a rift key
    Config.

    5. Possible unstable parts of the pocket dimension? Like sinkholes or places you could fall through into the End or the Nether.
    Config.

    I really think this mod has potential, if taken care of right it can be a "Default" mod like Redpower, Industrialcraft, Buildcraft etc. (Even though I hate Buildcraft and What Industrialcraft has turned into but Redpower is a good example).

    If each door creates a pocket dimension that is epic. If you can make this multiplayer compatible it will most definitely make it to Feed the Beast.

    Theres some things you should avoid to make this mod popular/mainstream:
    1. Making multiple of the Door, Aka different types. - This annoys people and makes people with OCD not play the mod at all.
    2. Do not change how the Dimensions look, them looking empty and flat black is amazing.
    3. The Depth System, I can see this ruining the mod from a mile away. Please dont do this.
    4. The Rift Deleter, I honestly think rifts should only beable to be deleted if you burn your rift key and break all of your Dimensional Doors.

    Ideas on how to make this more "fun":
    1. Rift Key, This would replace the door. Rift keys when made would be assigned their own dimension. Right clicking on a door with a Rift Key will turn it into a Dimensional Door to that Rift Keys Dimension.
    2. Again as I said earlier Multiplayer would make this mod.
    3. Treasure Rifts would be nice assuming you confined them to Dungeons and Mineshafts. If they are random it could cause oddities.
    4. Thaumcraft Implementation, If you can make this an Unlockable for Thaumcraft that extends from Arcane Doors this mod would get even more Traffic.
    5. Remove Bedrock, You can make it so if your in the dimension every tick it checks for bedrock and then removes it.
    6. Shift Clicking a Door with the Rift Key then Shift Clicking another door will connect them making it so if you go into one you come out of the other.
    7. If you can get my 6th suggestion to work in-between dimensions this would allow you to make multiple ways to get to one of your dimensions and not just the one door.
    8. Make them infinite.
    9. Remove the pocket dimension block. I feel if it were actually empty it would be better.
    10. Make the Sky black with no stars or anything. This attributes to my 9th suggestion.
    11. Remove Depth Fog so if you build low it doesn't have particles in your build.
    12. Using a Rift Key on a Dimensional Door will revert it back.
    13. Breaking a Dimensional Door will give you the normal door.
    14. Make it so it Generates this http://imageshack.us...21231012845.png but nothing more no "Fabric of Reality" blocks just that little platform then nothing. absolutely... nothing.
    15. If this becomes an Extension of Thaumcraft 3 I feel as if Rift Keys should only work on Arcane doors.
    16. If this becomes an Extension of Thuamcraft 3 I feel the recipe for a Rift key should be done in a Arcane Infuser. Requiring Alot of Vacuos, Alienis, Tenebris and Praecantatio.
    17. If this becomes an Extension of Thaumcraft 3 i feel as if it should require these Aspects: Vacuos, Alienis, Tenebris, Praecantatio, Motus, Permutatio, Visum, Imperito, Machina and Mutatio.
    18. The doors shouldent be breakable by anyone other than the Owner.

    I hate Buildcraft, Railcraft and Industrial Craft 2 as well as Forestry. IC1 was good, IC2 Sucks. Buildcraft is easily replaced by Redpower and Railcraft is executed horribly.

    For the Creepers Items could you reskin them they a little bad; same for the Mutant Zombie. The Mutant Zombies drops name is too Unimmersive and I feel thats one of the reasons I dont like this mod. Name it something like Hammer of Notch or something.

    With this, you can use your redpower pipes for as far as you like, and still store the liquid! Obviously, this would fit in with Minecraft's cubic universe. Hope this helped!
