The check is mostly there because people kept trying to use incorrect IDs which lead to a crash and they weren't able to tell what went wrong.
I do understand your frustration, but we don't plan on working on the 1.7.10 version anymore. Currently I am the only active programmer working on the Betweenlands, and maintaining an old, somewhat buggy, version and a big 1.10 update on top of that is too much work.

The 1.10 version will not have mutations anymore, though, and so the problem shouldn't exist there once it's released.

I see. Well, I look forward to using Betweenlands in 1.10 then.

Our check can definitely be disabled by the config file. If it still crashes it's probably Minecraft preventing you from doing so.

What's the point of having Betweenlands check your biome IDs if it's the base game that's going to stop you? Both result in a crash.

You didn't address any of my other concerns. Apparently Betweenlands does have mutation biomes, but why aren't they listed in the config or documented anywhere, and why can't their biome IDs be changed separately from the biome they're "mutated" from? 1.7.10 Biomes O'Plenty seems to have mutation biomes working this way because its config lists "Land of Lakes" and "Land of Lakes Marsh", "Seasonal Forest" and "Seasonal Forest Clearing", "Alps" and "Alps Forest", etc. separately from each other. I'm sure there's reasonable technical explanations for all of this, but as an end user, I'm frustrated that I might not be able to get this mod working in my pack even though I have 53 free biome IDs.

    posted a message on [1.8.7 / 1.7.10 and earlier][update 4/23] MCPatcher HD fix 5.0.3

I have a personal mixpack with a set of overworld sky textures that I like a lot, but it's pretty jarring when I go to another dimension (Twilight Forest, Tropics, Aether, Atum...) and the sky there is completely vanilla. Copying the world0 file and renaming it to the appropriate dimension ID doesn't work, and I imagine there's something special going on with Twilight Forest's sky given that the dimension is locked at sunset. I've posted in these mods' respective threads, looked at other resource packs, and tried some things on my own, and I've had no luck.

Is it possible to have BetterSkies skies for mod dimensions in 1.7.10, and if so, what do I need to do?

Using the latest 1.7.10 version, the config option to allow biome IDs higher than 127 doesn't seem to do anything in practice; the console still throws a "[ID + 128] is an invalid biome ID" crash. The Betweenlands doesn't even seem to have mutation biomes, so I'm confused why it follows this vanilla rule when no other biome mod I can think of does. Either way, being able to set the biome IDs, including any mutation biomes, to anything from 0 to 255 would make it much easier to add this mod to a pre-existing pack.

Suggestion: the bottom layer of Limbo should be solid Eternal Fabric, to prevent players from falling into the void. If it can be implemented, I don't think it should be possible to die at all in Limbo.

I think you misunderstood what the problem is. I want to be able to disable JAS spawning in the Tropics dimension so Tropicraft can do its thing, but Tropicraft's biomes don't show up in BiomeBlacklist, so I can't do that. That + the other stuff I mentioned makes me think that Tropicraft and JAS aren't fully compatible.

Is there a way to manually add biomes to BiomeBlacklist that doesn't result in them being removed once a world is loaded?

How do I add a custom lightmap and skybox to Twilight Forest? Copying and renaming an existing lightmap (world0 --> world7) doesn't work. Same problem with skybox folders, but I imagine TF always being at the same time of day would effect how you have to make a skybox for it in the first place. Lightmaps and skyboxes for the overworld, nether, and end all load and work correctly.

Nothing like coming back to old threads and seeing how embarrassing I've been...

Is there any known way to add new biome decorators in the 1.7.10 version of PMP? I want to add PMP support to Tropicraft, Twilight Forest, and Atum, but the biome decorator files don't use the internal biome names, which makes me think it won't be as easy as copying and renaming a few files.

I apologize in advance if this question has been answered already, GitHub is behaving strangely. Using JAS 17.7 JASCA 1.20 for 1.7.10.

Tropicraft biomes do not show up in BiomeBlacklist.cfg and Tropicraft mobs do not show up in ImportedSpawnlists.cfg. These things DO show up in BiomeGroups, LivingGroups, EntityHandlers Universal, and SpawnListEntries Universal, but the default spawn rates for all mobs are 0 because no spawnlist was imported. The "failgull" mob is the one exception; JAS doesn't seem to recognize it at all, which means I can't prevent it from spawning. Manually adding Tropicraft's biomes to BiomeBlacklist results in them being removed automatically when the game loads.

posted a message on Dimensional Doors v2.2.4

I encountered a weird issue with the 1.7.10 version of the Calendar mod. It was recording time as usual for a very long time; the last date I remember seeing on it was Year 2, August something. However, after falling out of a Dimensional Doors pocket dimension and into limbo, and then passing back into the overworld, the time was reset; it shows Year 1, January 1st. The CalendarGui mod shows the same thing, which makes me think these two mods are pulling the time from the same place... but the time elapsed stat on the statistics page shows 4.53 real-world days. Where is the Calendar's date coming from, if not that? Also, why would Limbo, specifically, cause the date to reset? Just going to pocket dimensions had no effect, in addition to going to the Nether and the Twilight Forest.

I apologize if this question has been asked before, and I understand that, even though a lot of mods are stillon 1.7.10, that version is severely outdated by now. If Calendar is basically the same for higher versions, though, fixing whatever this problem is in 1.7.10 would carry forward significantly (assuming the problem is on your end and not Dimensional Doors').

X-post from the Grim's Mods thread. Does re-entering the overworld from Limbo do anything special that entering from any other dimension doesn't? Or is it something about falling out of a pocket dimension?

Yes. Me and Zixiken have been working on a port since start of summer. The mod currently runs and render correctly but issues with how the original author decided to store door data has occured. We don't have the time to fully figure it out as of now due to various offline obgligations.

Oh thank god Dimensional Doors isn't dead, this is one of my all-time favorite mods.
