posted a message on Bookshelves Actually Working As Bookshelves

This has been suggested many times.

if I were to add something, I'd say the texture should change according to the amount of books stored.

Storing certain enchanted books could alter the chances of items receiving the enchantment from enchantment tables around it.

Like, say you have sharpness IV books loaded into all the book shelves around the enchantment table allowing Sharpness IV to become of greater chance when enchanting.

posted a message on ❄ Rideable Polar Bears and Bear Armors! ❄

    My opinion:

You can tame a Bear with Fish, only when it's not in an aggressive state.

Bears are stronger than Horses, can swim, and attack, but are slower / jump shorter / harder to control than Horses.

Bears would attack anything you're attacking when tamed.

Bears do not follow the player around when tamed like Dogs.

You would lose control over the Bear when the Bear is struck because the Bear attacks anything that attacks it.

Hitting a tamed Bear will un-tame it.

A bear may forget about you in 10 minutes, if you are not riding it, meaning you'll have to re-tame it.

And that's how I think this powerhouse of a unit can be balanced in-game.

posted a message on Thorns upgrade

    Player holds shield button.

Mobs attack shield whereby killing themselves.

    Shield eventually breaks.

How many effortless kills could ensue from the shields durability?

    Probably a lot.

Could the durability problem be circumvented with the "Mending" enchantment?

If so, the player has an item with, all intents and proposes, infinite durability and it effortlessly kills things.

In my opinion, that is over powered: No support.

posted a message on The Hour Glass

    Introduction:

Minecraft's game loop normally runs at a fixed rate of 20 ticks per second, so one tick happens every 0.05 seconds. An in-game day lasts exactly 24000 ticks, or 20 minutes. However, if the computer is unable to keep up with this speed, there will be fewer game ticks per unit time. What I suggest is a simple way to keep track of it all: The Hour Glass.

    The Hour Glass is:

    - A peaceable item that takes up one block of space.

    - Crafted with one Glass Block and two Gold Ingots above and below the Glass Block.

    - A tool for keeping track of Minecraft's time simply.

    - A compact tool for Redstone mechanisms that involve precision timing.

    - Dependant on Sand in order to function.

    Crafting recipe visually:

How to use the Hour Glass:

Once clicked on in block (placed) form, a GUI will appear.

Within this GUI there will be three slots: One to the right and two to the left vertically.

You place your Block of Sand into the slot to the right then the sand gets converted into 1000 Grains of Sand, but up to 24 Blocks of Sand can be placed within to create 24000 Grains of Sand.

You can then type how much of that you want moved into the upper right slot.

The Grains of Sand trickle down into the lower left slot from the upper right slot at a rate of one Grain per tick (0.05 real time seconds).

By the time it takes 1000 Grains of sand to trickle down to the Lower left slot, one Minecraft hour has passed (50 real time seconds).

Once 1000 Grains of Sand reach the lower left slot, it will be converted back into a Block of Sand for you to take out or put back in.

When the Hour Glass stops, it creates a Redstone signal.

If you want your Sand back but can't wait for it all to convert back into Blocks of Sand, you can always brake it to drop all the Sand placed within.

Finally, Dispensers may dispense Sand into them and Hoppers can remove Sand from them.

I'd only support a lava lamp if it was made with lava and looked groovy.

posted a message on battleaxes and woodcutting axes!

    One Axe is enough, imo.

Why not suggest a way to not do a sweep attack with the sword instead? Like, shift clicking.

posted a message on Party items.

    - Recipe yields 4 Confetti items.

    - Can be crafted with any dye as long as they are all differing colours.

    - Spawns a confetti particle effect while 1 of 4 party horn sounds go off, when right clicked in hand.

    - Can be placed inside Dispensers for the same effect as when right clicked in hard upon activation.

    - The confetti particle effect confuses and dazzles mobs, making them stop and stare for 2 seconds, but it scares Ocelots and Rabbits and is ineffective on Bats and panicked animals.

(Good when used against Guardians or Creepers)

    - Recipe yields 4 Balloon items.

    - Can be dyed by surrounding 8 Balloons around a dye to yield 8 dyed Balloons. Original color being white.

    - Can be placed in a "block" form but will float upwards.

    - Can be placed on top of placed string to form a 2 tall tethered Balloon which will not float upwards if there is a block beneath it so that the string both connects to a "ground" and Balloon.

    - Tethered balloons will suspend blocks that would normally fall when tethered to them.

    - Balloons will pop if struck by a projectile, hit with a weapon, and/or when they float above the build limit.

(Can be a comedic and/or puzzle element when a tethered Balloon that's suspending an anvil is shot, making the anvil hit something bellow)

    - Recipe yields one Lit Cake item.

    - Spawns a Cake with lit candles atop it when placed.

    - Emits a light level of 7 (which is as much as an active Redstone Torch does).

posted a message on Bear Trap

    Crafted like so:

The Bear Trap is a tool used to immobilise players and mobs that are blind enough step on them, once placed.

An inactivated Bear Trap is only 1/8th of a block high (so you can step on it), whereas an activated one (while it's clamping) is 3/4s of a block high. They'll do 1 heart of damage on easy, 2.5 hearts of damage on normal, and 4 hearts of damage on hard, only upon activation. Once an entity is trapped, it's immobilised for good, however, players will be able to mine their way out of it quickly, given that they have at least an Iron Pickaxe - If they don't, it'll take fairly longer, but it's still possible.

Bear Traps can be activated/deactivated via Redstone, which, when accompanied by a hopper underneath, makes handy grinding machines.

Lastly, these can be found randomly set up within the halls of Darkwood Mansions, said to be placed there by the illagers themselves that will navigate around them. villagers, illagers, and witches are the only ones smart enough to avoid them.
