I hate these new textures, it just looks like they used the blur tool in their program. The brick looks like it came from a mod or a MC spinoff or something. The obsidian is too busy.

Catch: Microsoft gets 99.99% of profit.
But seriously, this is a failure. Minecraft is not meant to be a shop. It is meant to be a fun place for people to share creations and encourage creativity.

Well I spilled my thoughts about infinite armor earlier. Now I'm not sure if I misread or not.
If it's removing the fact that armor gets weaker as durability drains, then ok good.
If it's making it last forever, quote the post I made earlier.

This is a perfect example of the sad trend of Minecraft. REMOVING long-time features so fit in for COSMETIC MAP MAKING CRAP! I wish their focus was on REAL Minecaft (Survival play), and not stupid custom maps. So our armor lasts forever. Great. Resources are now 100% less valuable, and this makes survival play armor absolutely retarded. Nobody needs attributes. Minecraft priorities need to be sorted out a bit. It should be Survival > PVP > Creative >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Map Making. 1.9 is the worst update to Minecraft so far.

I usually play single player survival, but I'm kinda waiting for something new in an update that's actually meant for survival. The last big survival-content bearing update was 1.3 or 1.4. I hope 1.9 gives something good. Either way, I still like survival a lot. (and the version changer)

He did it for a good cause though but I honestly thought that him losing his beard would make people not want to donate. Part of me says that they should have closed the donation before he shaved his beard. He better grow it back or he won't be the same Notch anymore. We need our back!Posted in: News

I don't have any one version I stick to, but I've never spent much time in anything later than 1.9. I find most newer additions to be cheesy, and I prefer pre 1.7 terrain. I like 1.6 too, but I have mixed feeling about some features such as regional difficulty. I don't cave anywhere near as much as you, but I agree that the older caves are much more interesting. The terrain is probably one of my biggest reasons for playing old versions. I don't play the game a whole lot though anyways.

Even if it isn't dying financially, it is definitely decreasing community-wise. For one, there seem to be far less community servers, just mega-hubs filled with immature/rude players, and mini games that they copy from each other. Mojang is father away from the community now that they sold themselves to Microsoft, and the development of the game is much less eventful now.
There are still fun communities to be found, but the game's prime already happened.

Wow the nether is bright.

I agree, the color change is awful. The almost-neon yellow is just UGH. I don't see what was wrong with making the bar darker. It showed the durability just fine and was not a distracting eyesore like the new one is. Mojang should just quit changing textures. They always seem to make the newer one worse.

Is it possible to get the old durability bar back? I find the bright yellow on black very ugly.

Are the totems going to be a REALLY rare drop? I'm just waiting for someone to make a farm for those...really not sure I like that feature, it could make otherwise exciting explorations easy.

There are also llamas that can carry stuff, dress up on carpets, and spit on wolves.
There are also totems of undying...this game is getting easier by the update. They better be REALLY rare.

I usually do shaft and strip mines. First I dig a large vertical shaft down to level 5 or so. I almost always expose caves in the process to explore later, and I find enough ore in the shaft to. Once I reach level 5 I dig either 2x2 or 1x2 tunnels which gets me a lot more ore.
I have always liked to do mining that way because I find the most diamonds and other valuables, and I get plenty of cobblestone to build with. My tunnels run into caves sometimes, and I will usually explore those within a short while, as well as any I find in my vertical shaft.
But yeah, I've always had a lot of fun mining tunnels and shafts, and exploring caves once in a while.

This new update contains some cool features, but there is something odd about it. I'm not sure why, but Minecraft pe wants to know my information with the new update.
I run android, and when I went to download 0.15 I saw that it wanted permissions to know my identity, my contacts, and my device I'd & call information. Why does it want to know this? I haven't installed the update, but I bet it's Microsoft trying to get the permission for some reason.
Has anyone else saw this too?

Are there still that many people who still hate 1.9+ combat? I have been playing it for a while and I have to say, it is quite fun. No longer do I feel like I half-"beat" the game after I get iron gear. I really do not get what people see in spam clicking. It's boring, mindless, and way too easy, especially in the later pre-1.9 versions where mobs are even easier. If the pvp "pros" that cannot fight without spam-clicking want to stay on 1.7 forever, they can.

Personally I don't like it, but a toggle is fine. I just think it should start off instead of on.

Have you tried mining tunnels near bedrock? Go down to layer 5-11 and just dig a 1x2 or 2x2 tunnel. You will find more iron and other resources too.
Caves are also good. Look around on the surface for one, or you may run into one while mining.
Don't waste too much time on an iron farm. You can get a lot from caving or mining which is more fun.

Honestly I've just never had the desire to make an iron farm. I've anyways found it more fun to do the mining or caving. Something just doesn't feel right about having a big machine that sits and spews out iron for me.
If you're fairly new to Minecraft which I'm going to take a wild guess that you are, I highly recommend trying out mining techniques or caving. One you figure out your favorite way to cave or mine tunnels near bedrock, you'll have a lot more fun doing that then having a big structure that just generates it.
Not to mention, you can also find caves, dungeons, etc from mining. Like someone mentioned, try enchanting, and digging tunnels spaced apart at levels 5-11ish. Or, you could walk on the surface and look for caves, and you never know, you might find a big one.
Just my thoughts on the matter.
