posted a message on StoneBlock Modpack crash problem

MC does not have enough RAM to run. Since you don't seem to know too much about computers, you probably need to allocate MC more RAM.

    How to allocate more RAM:

    1) Open the MC launcher

    2) Click on Launch options

    3) Click the button to the left of "Advanced settings"

    4) Click on the Stoneblock profile

    5) Click on the button to the left of "JVM arguments"

    6) Replace whatever number is after -Xmx to how much RAM you want Minecraft to use. For Stoneblock it is suggested to have this:

-Xmx6G. If you are running Minecraft on a laptop/low end PC, you want to use a different modpack.

Minecraft 1.13 and newer requires optimizations.

    What?

    Quote from Tails1»

    Turn off mipmapping.

Tried that, it was at 4 set it to 0 no change.

I think I have a better cpu than you, being an FX 8-core. I have half your RAM, though, and based on the model numbers I'm making the assumption that you have a graphics card in the neighborhood of twice as good as mine (Radeon r7 240). The rest of your specs are practically identical to mine, so your sole issue is probably just an incorrectly-configured Optifine.

    Fast Math = On

    Fast Render = On

    Terrain Animated = Off

That right there (mostly because of Terrain animated) should kill 90% of your problems. You might find other options in Optifine that boost things a tiny bit as well, but you will not see any bigger boost than the above three.

Keep in mind that 1.13 and 1.14 above that is a resource hog that could do with a fair bit of optimizations still. Without Optifine, 1.13 seems to feel like it runs faster (haven't dipped below 60 fps yet according to F3), but I still get all sorts of issues regarding block updates (for example, blocks breaking and not dropping anything)

I tried 1.13, 1.8.9 forge, 1.8.9 w/ optifine, both didn't work. Blocks breaking and not dropping anything on a server is just the server running slow, or if you're in single player the server tick rate is lower than usual, which is weird with 60 fps. I tried your optifine settings, no luck.

Post a screenshot with F3 enabled.

See the attachments, first is 1.8.9 w/ Optifine, all lowest settings except 16 chunk rendering distance. Second is 1.13.2 with all lowest settings except render distance. I think updating my CPU drivers (I just did that) helped a little, but I'm pretty sure all my problems are GPU/OpenGL related. I know my computer has at least OpenGL 3.2 Core. I fin it weird it's using only 13% of the memory it has, with 29% allocated to be used. 1.13.2 was ~30 frames, 1.8.9 was ~50.

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post, didn't see anything else relevant

So at first MC was running at 2 fps in vanilla with lowest settings. I updated my Graphics drivers to the latest for my driver and now I get 40 fps vanilla 50 fps Optifine on the lowest specs.

For comparison, my PC can run Rainbow Six Siege at Ultra with 4k textures at a solid 60 fps with only a few lag spikes.

    Specs:

    16 GB of RAM

    Radeon 580 RX graphics card

    Dual Monitors

    AMD Ryzen 5 1400 Quad-Core Processor

    64 bit (obviously)

    Java JRE 8 201 (64x)

    OpenGL 3.2 Core (at least)

    I have tried:

    Disabling vsync

    Installing Optifine

Allocating more RAM (I gave it 4G, which is more than enough.)

Added -Xincgc -Xmx2048M to the Java arguments

Set Minecraft to use my 64x Java install instead of the bundled one

And yet a get so little frames, my 4G laptop with MC on 2G could run MC with like 140 fps or something, and my Gaming PC can barely do 50? Why?

Attached: F3 screen on Minecraft 1.8.9 w/ Optifine, lowest settings except render distance is 16, second is Minecraft 1.13.2 with lowest settings except render distance, which is 16.

    posted a message on ForcedChunks.dat?

Didn't know where to put this, as there was not a mapping help forum, but I am trying to make a map, and naturally wanted to make a forcedchunks.dat to load my command blocks.

Problem is I do not know what editor to use and the format.

I could not find a single guide on it, but it is in a bunch of different maps.

    Any help is appreciated! :D

posted a message on Updating a map in an item frame

No I just want to know the best way to update the map

    Example:

Map area when placed in frame

    OOOOOOOO

    OOOXOOOO
    OOOOOOOO
    OOOOOOOO

Then after command and setblock the map should look like this

    OOOOOOOO

    OOOOOOOO

    OXOOOOOO
    OOOOOOOO

    O = Stone

    X = Dirt

That is the best way I can explain it.

posted a message on How to detect when mobs die when not killed by player

Alright, well I had my friend send me the world file so I could tamper with it and it sadly works exactly the same, because apparently mobs don't drop loot when it's not a player kill. Unless I did something wrong and don't now what code to put in the loot table files?

Wait so you're doing this on a server and NOT using Spigot? That just seems like a bad idea in itself, as Spigot has EntityDeathEvent which would really help you.

posted a message on Updating a map in an item frame

I want to make a map mini game, using maps to recreate a game, but the problem is I don't know the best method to update the maps in the item frames to the new maps. I am guessing I need to use cloning to clone the blocks for movement, but how do I update the map in the item frame?

    Examples:

    Pokemon Red in Mincraft

    Pacman in Minecraft

Both of these are fully functional and in vanilla.

    Developer:

Name/Nickname: I would like to be called Ethan
In-game name: Big_Bad_E. I do not have plans to change it any time soon.
What position are you applying for: I am applying for developer
    Age: 13+
Past Experience: I have about a year of experience with Java, around 7 months with Spigot, and I am trying to learn Python. I plan to learn HTML, CSS, and/or JavaScript. I have a smaller GitHub because most of my plugins are not open source, and am not very active on GitHub but plan to be more active. I have experience with things like NPCs, custom enchants, etc... I do not know how to use MySQL or website development. Also I have no experience with Anti cheats.
Previous Work: I have worked around. I started taking plugin requests on McMarket, then moved on to developing for smaller servers. This, if I get accepted, will be my 4th server to be staff on. I have mostly helped with small servers with 5-10 average player count.
Some Stuff About Yourself: I am a student, but have a large interest in coding. I am mature and have played Minecraft for around 5 years (I remember when horses first came out :p) I left Minecraft for a couple months to play fps games, but came back missing the limitless sandbox universe of Minecraft. That is around when I realized I could code for Minecraft, starting with Forge then moving to Spigot. I usually play on 1.7 and if not 1.8. I will probably not be caught alive playing multiplayer on 1.12. I am a PvPer who like to play Soup and Pot. I am also pretty strong with finding hackers.
How Active Can You Be: It really depends on school. I will usually be on 1-4 hours on weekdays, 2-6 hours on weekends. I may not be active at all some days because of various things. I will usually have discord open.
