Is this a strict RP server or a relaxed RP server? By that I mean...do I have to have some absurd character and constantly be in that character?

I'm left handed and I agree....that this is pointless and if it were ever considered would be so low on the priority list that you'd never see it happen.

posted a message on My Favorite Seeds (Another Topic!)
Okay guys, I have two really...nice seeds. They aren't those extreme-overhang-mountains-everywhere seeds, but they're really nice.

    Seed: BidoofRacer
    Points of Interest:
    Overhang w/ Waterfalls - -74 x, -361 z
Description: I haven't explored this world too much, but I found a really cool mountainous valley with an awesome, but very modest overhang with two waterfalls spilling from its sides.
    Pictures:

    Seed: ChristopherDanielSmith
    Points of Interest:
    Dungeon - 220 x, -63 z
    First Pumpkin Patch - 109 x, -162 z
Description: This world is really nice. The main point of interest is a very quaint valley nestled between two rolling mountain ranges. There's 20 pumpkins split between two patches, and there's also a chance for sugar cane (I got the sugar cane on some tries and not others). There's possibly hundreds of yellow flowers and perhaps one or two dozen roses. There's plenty of trees, and at the end of the valley, a rain-forest starts. At the beginning of the valley there is a desert with plenty of cacti. The desert is also right next to the ocean, and on the beach there is a dungeon. (Spoiler: The chest has 5 iron and 7 gunpowder in it.) There's also a lava lake nearby and it will catch the entire forest on fire if you don't get to it fast enough to stop the fire's progress. As a bonus, there's two clay spots on one of the neighboring beaches. Overall, this is a really nice beginner world. It is also a really nice world for people who like to relax instead of having insane mountain-side homes. It's very quaint, and a nice farmhouse would fit perfectly in the valley.

posted a message on Wool To String
9 string = 1 wool...so it'd be reasonable to assume 1 wool = 9 string, right? I sure hope not, that'd be terribly unbalanced. Wool is easy to get, if you ask me, and only if you're making hundreds upon hundreds of dispensers would you need that much string, even if wool only gave 1 string back. That's up to 3 string per sheep, which are just absolutely everywhere....pushing you while you work.

I have to say I dislike the suggestion. Even if arrows are limited, it shouldn't be any easier to get your bows. It's fine how it is, if you ask me...and the only uses for string are bows and fishing poles; you only need one bow and fishing is pointless. The only reason, as I said, for this to exist is for the mass accumulation of dispensers. But, having a mass amount of dispensers should be an accomplishment, not "I can punch 15 sheep and have a wall of arrow-launching killing machines."

Perhaps string could not be crafted into wool and then it would take 4-5 wool to make 1 string, but even then it would make string far too easy to get....even easier than it already is.

posted a message on Share your world seeds! [OP Being Organized!]
I used my real name as my seed, capitals where appropriate and no spaces. It generated a breathtaking, quaint valley nestled between two smaller mountains, with a desert at its beginning and a rain forest at its end. The desert had plenty of cacti, and I found two spawns of pumpkins only 10-20 blocks apart (for a total of 20 pumpkins), and three sugar cane. The desert also bordered the ocean and there was a ground-level dungeon with sand collapsed into it. There's two clay spots nearby, and also an above ground lava lake (that caught some of the forest on fire, but I stopped it from getting too far) and plenty of small ponds littering the valley. Also, there's hundreds of yellow flowers and maybe a dozen or two dozen red flowers. There were also trees scattered throughout the part of the valley closer to the rain-forest...it was the most smooth transition I've seen from rain-forest to desert.

It's really the most peaceful place I've had the pleasure of spawning in and I'm proud to call it my new main world. I also feel that it has everything a new player needs, there's cave systems, the dungeon had 5 iron ingots and there was iron ore inside the walls of the dungeon, it has plenty of trees and cacti, sugar cane and pumpkin. It's not some overwhelming, giant mountain with tons of overhangs...it's a really easy place to settle in.

    The seed is: ChristopherDanielSmith
    The Valley is located at X: 125 Z: 142

posted a message on A use for Gold
    Quote from JC-crest »
Maybe gold could be crafted into weak glowing armor? Or maybe thats what glowdust should be... Heck what if gold can be used to enchant items? I know Notch talked about enchantments in one of his interviews (where he denounced the use of spell-like magic). Maybe if u surround an element block with 8 gold blocks (not bricks) it creates an enchantment that u can attach to ur armor or weapons? ---Lava bucket=armor that glows and hurts mobs on contact and a weapon that lights them aflame ---Water bucket=a force pushing weapon or armor with gills---diamond block=extremely durable armor and weapons(even more than usual)---Snow block= weapons that temporarily freeze enemies and armor that creates ice when walking near and on water

Those ideas are actually pretty nice.

That's essentially what redstone does, anyhow. Gold wire could act as a...more effective redstone.

posted a message on Golden Apples To Increase Max Health [Update]
While I like your suggestion, it's not really "balanced." You could argue that the time it takes to get that single golden apple could balance out the fact that you forever have double the max health, but I would have to disagree. Even if we kept the current Golden Apple recipe (72 gold ingots per apple), it would be more balanced to have the player lose 1 golden heart per death. I just think permanently doubled health is out of balance, no matter the cost or time it takes to get it. Maybe the player could only lose half a golden heart upon death, that would make the effect more long lasting but still limited.

Honestly, the only purposes I could see for it would be aesthetics. Someone suggested you be able to mount golden weapons and tools on the wall. I liked the idea of gold leaf, and it would be neat to put some gold gilding on blocks to further enhance your home's appeal. However, one of the more voiced uses of gold is its ability to conduct electricity. Perhaps gold could be further implemented to work with redstone circuitry? Mayhaps it could increase the speed at which the "signal" travels through redstone or maybe it could find some other use there. Does anyone have ideas for that?

posted a message on Golden Apples To Increase Max Health [Update]
Honestly, the idea is nice and sound. I had a few suggestions: Stay with the "you loose 1 gold heart per death" thing (so you have to replenish it eventually) but each time you eat a gold apple, it will add two gold hearts to your health meter. Then, change the recipe of gold apples to 4 gold blocks instead of 8. That lowers the gold needed per apple by half and would balance it out decently well, if you ask me.

Then each golden apple is only consuming 36 gold ingots for a max of 180 gold ingots to get a full golden health bar. With the added difficulty of finding apples themselves, I think the work:reward ratio is a lot better.

    Simple Breakdown:
Lose 1 Golden Heart per death,
Gain 2 Golden hearts per Golden Apple eaten
Change the Golden Apple recipe to this:
Where :Yellow: = Gold Block and :Red: = Apple.

    [] :Yellow: []
    :Yellow: :Red: :Yellow:
    [] :Yellow: []
