Are you kidding? 5 hunger gain from "meat" that drops from creepers, which spawn in multitudes EVERY single night? No. And creepers are hardly deadly foes, making it more op'd.
Well, back BEFORE I bought the game, I was testing out Classic. I dug down to lava and for the life of me could not figure out how to place blocks
Then, on my first ever world, I punched a wolf. 'Nuff said.

Can Your Character Wield A Sword/Axe?: Hell yeah, when needed.
Can You Character Farm?: Yes indeedy
Can Your Character Mine?: Well yeah, he's of the race of Steve
What Other Things Can Your Character Do?: Well, he's is quite athletic and agile, but doesn't like combat ( even though he is quite proficient if need be ).
Backstory (1-2 LONG paragraphs): He was just a boy when his house was raided by a band of bandits; parents, brother killed. He escaped and just wants to live a quiet life off the land.
He journeys into town to buy supplies if he needs them, but hasn't any friends.

Fus Ro Dah.
Why does an obisdian portal take you to The Nether? Why does Bonemeal make saplings become trees in an instant? How can I fall a long way and lose 8 hearts and still be able to walk? I was actually replying about diamonds in relation to your sandstone tools idea. I hope you're not using the "it was totally a joke" card just because the idea was shunned and you're really afraid of looking bad. If this was a joke, you'd probably come up with something better than "sandstone tools". Bad idea.
For that's what I'm saying about "unrealistic". The whole game is, and that's what make's it epic. And YES, it was a joke, but I thought sandstone tools was a good one. Here, how about this (as a better substitute to my joke): Hey guys! I think it would be AWESOME if when you kill a pig, YOU TURN INTO ONE !!!11!! Then you could go through 1 block high places, AND MINE WITH YOUR TEETH!!!11!!1!
How? Mining a diamond with an iron pick axe and then taking three and popping them on 2 sticks is realistic? And p.s. The whole idea is really a joke, and "epic new idea" tag is TOTALLY a joke.

So I've thought up some ideas for vanilla Minecraft that don't seem TOO ridiculous. Here they are:
Horses:
It'll be found wandering alone in forests or grasslands, and you would tame it by getting close and waiting, with apples and/or wheat in your hand, until it comes up to you of it's own volition. Right-click how ever many times it takes with the food to tame it, and then it will follow you around. Put a saddle on it, then right click to mount. WASD to move. At first it would trot at a bit faster than Steve's walking speed, but after a couple seconds of open trottage, it would start to gallop at speeds slightly faster than sprinting. Step height 1 block, so no need to jump before 1 block high...blocks. Space to jump, though, with a jump height of 2 blocks, and a jump length (whilst galloping) of 4 blocks. Occasionally, while you're riding it, the horse will become thirsty, so you'll have to stop it near a water source block, let it drink and keep going. Right-click to dismount, and right-click while holding...B? to make it lie down, sit, or whatever horses do.
Oh, and if you get to close or move to quickly near a wild horses, it'll kick you for 3 hearts =)
Copper Pipes:
Copper will be a bit rarer than iron, and be found below sea level. 4 ingots in a shape like that of a compass minus the redstone will make 8 or 10 pipes, which can be placed on top or on the side of blocks. They will be about the same size as far as width goes as fences, but be only 1 block high when facing upwards, and have little slits of glass so you can see what's going through them. Pipelines can only have 1 line like that of minecart tracks, as in bends but no intersecting. At either end of a pipeline, the last pipes will expand to create cubical (of course) funnels, and when a liquid block flows over or into the end, it will travel at normal speeds to the other end, where a block of water/lava, with the same characteristics as a source block, except you can't collect with a bucket, will be created. Also, if items are thrown or washed into a pipe, they will arrive at the other end IF the pipe has water in it too, but if the pipe has lava in it, bye-bye items. Also, if items are thrown into the opening of a vertically placed pipes, they'll travel to the bottom pipe. If you take an iron ingot and put that inside the copper in the pipe recipe, that will make 4 valve pipes, which can be triggered by right-click or by redstone. This pipe is defined by having a valve handle on the top. If you put a wooden pressure plate inside the copper in the pipe recipe, it will make 4 detector pipes (defined by little lights that light up when triggered), sending a redstone signal if water or items pass through it, but if lava passes through it, the lava will burn the wooden pressure pad, turning it into a regular pipe. Likewise, if you use a stone pressure pad in the recipe, lava and water will trigger it, but items will not. AND if you put redstone dust around the outside of the pipe recipe, it will make 6 booster pipes, defined by red rings around the ends of it that light up when triggered by redstone, that make items move through pipes without needing water. A single boost lets items move through 5 pipes without needing another boost. Let's see...that's about it for pipes.
