And another suggestion that won't reach notch.

Jeb confirmed for ****ing up 50% possibilities for pistons. No player, sand or gravel launching and no pushable chests, furnaces, workbenchs, noteblocks, and all other objects with tile data.

Okay my idea is simple, hatches should work like doors do, this would help us have more possibilities with hatches. If you place a hatch from above it would be placed on the upper side of the block, if you place it from below it would be placed on the lower side.




If you place one hatch on the upper side the hatches above and below would be placed on the upper side too, same happening if you place it on the lower side.
If you place two hatches,the one below on the upper side and the one above on the lower side separated by a block and you place a hatch on the middle block, then all three hatches would break.

This would be possible




The hatches placed on the upper side would open facing down and the ones placed from below would open facing up.
It's obviously not a genius idea but I know many of you have thought of this before.

TL;DR hatches can be placed on the upper side or lower side of the block.
