I couldn't possibly be less interested in a combat update. If minecraft had no combat at all it wouldn't change the experience for me. When do we get a building update?
Maybe it wouldn't change the experience for you, but it's probably going to change the experience for everyone who plays survival or pvp. I personally wouldn't mind a building update, but we get new blocks every update (see the new blocks in that end pic from jeb), si IMO we don't really need it.

This looks interesting

Well I got into minecraft around 1.3, but I wasn't able to buy the game until after 1.6 or 1.7, so until then I mainly played the offline version (I refused to use a cracked client), with no access to servers, mods, or updates past 1.5.

Kind of depends on what stage of the game you're in. During the early game bones are really useful for growing crops. Later in the game when you're more focused on building tnt is useful for clearing out large areas. And and at the last stages of the game, witches are probably the most useful when you can make a farm for them.

1. IGN: Thornhelm
2. Skype: (Required) I will PM the OP if I am accepted
3. Age: (14+ [maturity reasons only]) 14
Extra Info:
I've been on quite a few a servers, but have been frustrated with all of them as they either shutdown through lack of players, or started going in a direction I didn't agree with. I'm interested in this server because it will hopefully have a small, mature community. I plan to be as active as possible. I consider myself friendly and mature.
I have never (to my knowledge) been banned from any server for any reason. I have never griefed outside of a faction/raiding server.
I'm not particularly skilled in building, but I can definitely help out with building a spawn town, shops, etc. Can't do redstone to save my life though. I have been playing minecraft 2-3 years, so I guess I'm an experienced player.
I do use skype, but, due to the lack of a proper mic, I don't use any kind of voice chat.
I speak English.
Hopefully this is enough information! I'm looking forward to playing if I am accepted

A friend actually told me that technically you "beat" the game when you get all the achievements. This includes killing the ender dragon and wither, and a bunch of other stuff. I'm currently working on it in my survival world, though I doubt I'll ever be able to because of some of the more difficult ones (such as Adventuring Time which requires you to visit all biomes).

If you don't want to, don't do it. You still accomplished something beating the Ender Dragon (something that I did recently for the first time after around 2 years of playing minecraft). Remember that you can't "beat" the game itself, but you can achieve whatever goals. Your goal was to defeat the Ender Dragon, and you did that. Be satisfied with that. If you want another challenge, kill the Wither and/or the Elder Guardian. Nobody should judge you for not doing it if you don't want to. Hope this helps!

Amazing stuff. Do you plan to add models for tools?

It's not vanilla if it's bukkit :/

I wish I could play on this server, but I will not risk the safety of my penguin
( jk, my penguin is a jerk, so I really don't care if he gets electrocuted or not )

Done, done, and done. Nothing's worked so far.

So I've this problem since my early days of playing minecraft, and that is that I can't keep a survival world for more than 2 weeks at a time. I see other people on youtube and MCF who keep and maintain survival worlds for years, while the longest running world I had lasted for maybe a couple months before I deleted it (and this was two years ago). I've tried challenging myself, using different world types, mods , etc.
So I'm asking people who have had long-running worlds, what was it that kept you playing?

I played a roguelike in which the potion of awareness would allow you see all mobs on the level. That'd be a cool use for this poition, IMO. Otherwise, I don't see much use for it except for making blindness potions.

The title pretty much sums it up. IMO the combat should be improved, as it's currently just a click-fest, so I'm really looking forward to 1.9. However, the thing about changing such a huge (and essential) part of vanilla is that no matter what they do, whether it's big or small, is going to upset some people.
So I have two questions for you:
1) Do you like combat as it is now, or do you think it needs to be changed? (Use the poll for this one)
2) What do you hope Mojang will not change in 1.9? (Post this below)

So what? That's probably why they changed it.
