Ok so everyone's saying water evaporates for them when they try placing it on hell blocks... bare in mind that he's put normal dirt here and placed water in it (see OP) so, to make the obsidian lake I'm guessing just build a 1 high wall around the lake, then put the water on top of that, problem solved.

I don't know how he made the pic in the OP. I recreated it as exact as possible, and even tried it with a buffer away from hell-blocks.
Yup. I'm sorta trying to terraform a bit of hell to become more earth-like. So far, I have planted a tree, replaced hell-dirt with regular and have started turning a lava lake below to boisidan(and then fill it with water. Here are some pics:

I cannot get water. I tried to use earth-dirt on the ground, and even several blocks up to see if it was just too close to hell-blocks... it evaporates no matter what.
hi for some reason i think i may have glitched out haha but i'm not sure i will probably try again tomorrow but it randomly said i timed out and now every time i try to log it is saying i'm timing out. wasn't sure if that could be a problem or not sorry and thank you for allowing me to join the server :smile.gif:

I don't care if it's fixed, I'm merely stating that due to being that being in the same region got me a Ban? While I was on the server, I saw the entire conversation between all parties including the initial incident. In my honest opinion the admin was pulling the a classic second grade bully defense the whole, "I have Power therefore I am correct." Although the general idea of the server is great with the current administrations direction I do not see myself as being a "willing" participant. With my sincerest regards, and best wishes I hope the administration pulls its head out of its ass and stops being second graders. Also PLEASE keep me on the Ban list due to my apparently unwanted existence on your server, have a great day.
Learn to respect authority then, and come up with better insults than "second grader".
It's my job to run the server, and if people get in the way of that, they're out. It goes along the same veins as griefing, and will not be tolerated.
If you don't feel like playing in a place with a competent admin running things so that immature people like Jolmer don't ruin the game, then you don't need to play on my server.

Notch said in his twitter and maybe somewhere else that in order to play in Hell in multiplayer, the server has to select "hell mode".

When you join, just walk a bit to get out of the spawn protection. I put up a couple pillars that mark the boundary.
Only rule is, don't be an asshat, which includes respecting fellow players and not griefing.
