    posted a message on Quarries!
    Quote from quez1

I was playing on my server with my friend and we were having a race to find diamond. We were seriously mining straight for 3 hours! We got so bored so I decided to make quarries! They are very, VERY effective. We havn't found diamond as of yet but both of us had a full set of diamond armour after 1 and a half hours. And after 3 hours of mining in our quarries, I have 13 full stacks of cobblestone with 31 layers left until I reach bedrock.
So what I'm saying is MAKE A QUARRY!!!!!!

I just finished my first quarry and I got to say, it's frustrating with how many pickaxes I used up, but it's great for making underground bases, and with all the cobblestone you get you can make a bunch of cool structures. What I like to do is dig quarry then make tunnels leading out at layer 10. That's where all the diamonds are.

Quarries may be effective, but to me they aren't very fun. Any organized mining isn't very fun. I just stick to spelunking or sometimes I'll randomly mine into the ground.

Yeah, I think it may not be worth it sometimes.

posted a message on Fruit trees..
    Quote from Kliuyyyy

How about we add fruit trees to Minecraft?

More fruit, more trees, more hunger bars filled, we all win!

Why this wouldn't make the game impossibly easy: Fruit in any case, no matter what the kind, would only fill 1/2 a hunger bar. However, fruit trees spawn 5% of the time, so if you're just walking around exploring and forgot your food, it's not hopeless.

Each tree would contain 7 fruits of its kind.

    Types:
    -Apple
    -Peach
    -Orange
    -Banana

And perhaps some small shrubs containing fruit?

    Comment!

Mojang is already on it. they said they'd add a 1/200 chance of getting a fruit from a tree.

posted a message on An endermen just gave me a heart attack, I'm not going to play in hard any more
Once I was at the top of my guard tower with my bow and I made the mistake of looking at and Enderman. He teleported away, and I didn't see him any where. Then the monster fell from my roof and was plummeting toward the ground. I went down the ladder to see if he survived and he teleported behind me, punched me, and almost killed me. (Diamond armor!!! w00t!) It spun around and slashed him with my sword. Then a creeper exploded behind me, and I survived then the Enderman came back and punched me.

    Yes.

posted a message on More NPCs and structures
I've wanted there to be a group of people that act like thieves, bandits, or muggers. They look like people, but they're hostile and if you look closely you can find their camp full of goods.

posted a message on What was the point of NPCs?
I favor NPC villages, but not the villagers as much.

The NPC villages are good because...
If I'm ever getting chased in Hardcore mode (Oh YEAH!!!!) there is a shelter for me.
If I need to add a village to my castle I know where to get ideas.
It's fun to burn the place down.

The NPC villagers are okay because...
They add substance to the game.
They are fun to make a bloodbath.
They will have a better purpose soon.

    posted a message on Meteorites
I like your idea, and I was thinking about posting something like this yesterday. I think that the meteorites should have items and ores like gold, iron, maybe some diamond. But to keep from someones creation from being demolished the meteorite has to strike so many blocks away from a player.

Now, the crater you should us would be from a meteorite the size of an adults fist. So, unless you make the impact crater bigger, it would be unrealistic to collect ores from such a small meteor. It would also be unrealistic to be able to see a meteorite falling to the ground, as we can only see a flash of light when the impact happens.

    So, good idea, but unrealistic.

posted a message on Making Enderman More Scary
You know, I think they shouldn't stalk you to kill you, but maybe they might be curious and the player might attract them. I still think they should be more mysterious than scary. Have a person who started Minecraft and didn't look at wiki for help. They would be confused at why the Enderman isn't attacking. The 3-block height is intimidating, and the glowing eyes are cool. I say that Endermen should have the capability to pick up more objects.

On top of that I'm sure its against forum rules to make Herobrine threads...

Nope, I checked the rules. It's only breaking the rules if you claim you saw Herobrine, but not stating an idea to put him in nightmares.

I like the idea, but Notch said he and Mojang were already making a dream dimension.

Now, i may sound crazy to you, but it's true. I heard noises of someone breaking dirt blocks, and moving on the sand. It's really crazy. To be honest, i disconnected my internet, but someone was still moving. Then i reconnected. :sad.gif:
    P.S I'm playing on peaceful

    Probably Justin Beiber.

    posted a message on Candles
    Quote from Arkitect

Candles, a sort of torch that cannot be placed, but can be held. It would light the area around you, while you held it, but would not be as bright as a torch. The candle would be held in your left hand, allowing your right hand to be free to carry something else (pickaxe, sword etc.) and be able to use it.

    Opinions?

I had the same idea, but how would we craft it. I wanted a lantern crafted like this:
    T=torch
    G=glass
    [G][G][G]
    [G][T][G]
    [G][G][G]

Or when we carry a torch it lights up and magically set itself on fire when placed.

posted a message on Placing Glowstone
I was thinking the same thing! When I first got some I tried to place it, but no luck. That would be great for neon signs, arrows to point the way out of a cave, or tunnel, or mine, or cool graffiti on the side of a house.

I love it, and if Mojang doesn't like it then that's another one of their big mistakes. *COUGH* void fog *COUGH* Keep telling people about this, try to get it well-known and maybe it will reach Jebs ear.

    You deserve a +1

posted a message on Abandoned Mine shafts
Hello, fellow Minecrafters and forum posters!!!

I was digging around in a cave and I caught a glimpse of an Abandoned Mine Shaft so of course I went in and I wondered as I mined gold, iron and even some diamond why people left? I mean, there is still ore everywhere, and before they deserted it and place the mine cart tracks, wouldn't they have dug the ore? So why did they leave? Shouldn't there be almost no ores on the surface there? Or maybe some thieves would be walking around down in there hoping to get some ore.

I want to know if you like the idea(s) and also, please tell me a story (made up ones are okay) of why the miners left?
