    the thaumic lens thingie you're talking about is the thaumometer. I have one of those too. I also think it would be great if you could add thaumcraft compatibility (apart from just making the lecterns capable of holding and using thaumonomicons.) I also would like to know if the lecterns will work for the Ender Compendium from Hardcore Ender Expansion. thanks.

    back to the issue at hand, I even tried it with particles enabled, and it didn't work. (I always keep particles off because I don't have that good a computer.)

    oh and one more thing... to those of you who are trying to name the thaumcraft book, it's called The Thaumonomicon. period, end of story.

But all I had was 3 BLUE points. I should have had 3 green, I'm level 27.

    So now I'm confused if I did something wrong, picked up something I shouldn't have, pressed a button I shouldn't have...or if it's a bug. The program never crashed, so I don't have a crash report. The only thing I could think of was I looted a 'Thaumicon' or w/e that thaumcraft book is called out of some chest and read it in that time. Could this possibly reset your magic??

    Any help or insight would be awesome!!
    hm your theory with the thaminamicon(or whatever it's called) could be an true because no body yet has reported such a thing I suggest trying that in creative put down a chest with a thauminomicon in it then switch to survival with an oculus and learn the secrets of the arcane learn a few shapes and modifiers then open the chest and read the thauminomicon.

And how the affinity gains don't seem to track right to begin with. I have a spell that goes Projectile-Entangle-Zone-Touch-Lightining Damage-Damagex3, with nature and lightning affinity gains standing equal at 50% gains for each. They are not opposite elements of each other. I never gain lightning affinity with this spell, only nature.
    me either you work so hard to get to that point and then your rewarded with more likely death! :(

    While the lightning rod affect IS really bad, it won't happen while you are indoors. Stay inside or learn Banish rain until Mithion decides to change it.

    Edit: I just realized a huge flaw in elemental consequences: Fire and water, when exposed to the opposite element, lose 25% of their health, and usually (And easily) they go out of their way to avoid these circumstances. But, with lightning, if you're out in a storm, You can die. Easily. Lightning is mean. : C

    Just the casting modes are changing to swap shapes instead. This means he is adding modifiers to do the same thing as casting modes, so each modifier will amp up the spell by one mode I believe, maybe that would probably mean there would be something higher than augmented power though if the limit is 3 and your diminished by default.
    oh thanks mixed the two upIn my opinion the downside to an affinity over rules the good side I mean the lightning affinity gives you lighting rod and that kills really quickly in a storm and what if your roof is wood?!

    I thought that to but it turns out better dungeons has support for ars magica it is stated in the compendium that that happens in the old ruins topic specifically name choclate quest
