I blocked the pig in the portal, put a saddle on it and got on the pig... No sexual references intended.

Don't lie. By "portal" you meant "giant gaping vagina", didn't you?

    Quote from Quxudia

If that were true then laws wouldn't exist, it's illegal to falsely shout "Fire!" in a theater and for good reason.

Yes, and the good reason is that it endangers the well-being of others, as opposed to shouting "Kike!" in a theater, which does not endanger anybody whatsoever.

    Quote from Quxudia

Yes there is, one accepts the world the way it is and the other tries to make it a better place.

No, I just know better than to believe that putting a muzzle on a dog will make him not want to bark. I'm not simple-minded enough to be assured that outlawing racial slurs will solve racism. The law is passed. You'll walk through the streets and not hear a single derogatory word. But there are still groups of people who hate blacks. Only now they hate blacks quietly. But not being aware of it, the world does appear better, whereas it's actually one less issue to distract us from our day.

I've already talked about making the world a better place. If you want to make the world a better place, stop clinging to the words and the symbolism, and instead go after the mindset. Educate people around you. Understand, and make others understand, that what one must be against is not a swastika on the wall, and not a costume, but the idea: racism. Racism is a problem whether it is united under a swastika, a star, or under a letter of the Latin alphabet. And, more importantly, racism should bother us because it exists, not because we see people exhibit it.

Do you know why you see swastikas on the walls, why you hear people insulting one another's race, and why you read in the paper about some Jewish man killed by supremacists? Because people hate other people, that's why. Solve that. Make a better world for everyone. End racism at the root. Make people not hate one another. Then you won't see swastikas on the walls or burning crosses. And when you do see them, you'll know for sure that those symbols aren't racist: after all, there is no more racism.

Are we still on this "gold is useless" kick?

Hey, at least they're not saying that aspergite is useless again. As to it becoming the most useful item in the game, well, that would make some sense, as it's rather rare.

Maybe cutting leaves off trips with a golden axe would increase the chances of sapplings appearing and then dropping.
Maybe mining stone with a golden pickaxe would give you a small chance at getting regular stone instead of cobblestone.

    just a thought.

A very good thought. Very good thought, but it needs development. I don't see additional saplings or regular stone as terribly great incentive; the low durability of gold outweighs.

posted a message on food growing on trees? (excludes pork-chops and fish
Yeah, OP, we understand that you're excluding pork chops and fish if you just say "food should grow on trees". You don't have to make it explicit.

Then again, reading some threads on this forum, forget what I said; go ahead and make it explicit for good measure.

I thought I should return and apologize for the overall roughness of my approach; now reading some replies (even from those to share my stance) I didn't anticipate that fists would start flying in such a thread. Let's not break each other's necks, now, fellas.

I believe that every aspect of the game, no matter how little, should be developed to it's fullest extent to result in the BEST experience you can have while playing minecraft.

And I'll have to say I can only agree with this.

    Quote from Cold scope

If you look at the terrain.png you may notice that there are three squares for the one sandstone texture; one which looks natural and two others which look more like cobblestone.

Oh, yes. I was asking whether it was a recent change.

It wouldn't take to long to program. And from your constant arguments and your instant negative response to my idea I had gathered you were against my idea.

Negativity wasn't intended. Nor can I dispute that it wouldn't take long to program.

You mentioned that the textures were already in the files. Since which version have they been?

    dead set against an idea

But I am not set against the idea. If sandstone operates likes smooth stone, fine. If it remains as is, that's great, too. I simply don't think it is terribly worth an investment.

Yes, I understand that you're addressing me hence you wrote your remarks immediately following my quote. Without your sarcastic guidance, I would have figured that you are a secret admirer, quoting my posts regularly and appending something completely unrelated beneath.

What I don't gather is that a large amount of people wish to create a separate item just because something usually hidden under sand bothers them. If you could not derive this stance from all the posts I have made in the topic, then I would not worry about suggesting that I read more carefully.

READ IT. My title is NOT my suggestion.

I've read it the first time, and I've read it again by your request. I still fail to see how it will help anything other than aesthetics.

    Quote from DINGO_WINTERWOLF

NOT EVERYONE WANTS TO USE ****ING MODS!

Right, especially the people who want robots and toilets in the game, but I'll be goddamned when that happens. Not to compare this suggestion to the aforementioned, of course, for it is on a much higher level of reasonableness, but when somebody wants something for themselves, mods are the only way.

I don't know if such a mod exists, but it wouldn't be difficult to remove sandstone from the world generation. As for the latter bit, I must be blunt. For one, "sandstone is bad" is not a suggestion. Two, "I don't like that sandstone occurs naturally" is no reason to alter the base game, which is what I gather you wish to do since this is the forum purposed for suggestions for exactly that.

If you wish to hear something masturbatory, very well: I find your city goddamned impressive. But still, nobody cares that you don't like sandstone.
