Why you wish to join: I'm currently hunting for one or two small survival servers to play on casually. I enjoy hopping on and spending my time in the small, respectful communities servers like yours offer.

Strengths in Minecraft: I greatly enjoy the building aspect of Minecraft. I grow in and out of interest for his game, but whenever the sandbox mood strikes there's nothing better for me to spend time with. I enjoy the farming, creating interesting, unique, and attractive structures, as well as quite often making my bases entirely self contained with farms, mines, and so on.

I also love the community aspect of servers, especially small, close knit ones. They're the only type I enjoy playing on, and vanilla is exactly what I enjoy, we don't need no fancy plugins. ;)

How often will you play on the server?: Likely a bit every day or most days. I have a week long mid winter break from college starting tomorrow, so I'll likely be around a lot the next week and then at the minimum probably two-three days a week.

Tell me a little about yourself: I'm a Simulation, Animation, and Gaming major studying in Michigan. I'm a very creative person, and I'm hoping to go into 3D modeling, animation, environment design, etc. It's where i feel drawn towards, and I look forward to seeing what I can do with it.

Twitch or Youtube Channel?: No twitch or youtube. Up until recently my PC wasn't up to spec with what I'd need for proper recording, and I don't really have any desire to start making videos currently.

Have you read and accepted the rules?: I have indeed. Bananas are a great vegetable.

Any more info I need to know?: Not that I can think of, my skype is also Ben_Fett.

Tell me a joke :D : What do you get when you cross a joke and a rhetorical question?

I'm making an app for myself and a good friend of mine will be posting one very soon. We are looking for a nice, friendly, small survival server to play on! We have our fedoras all ready and we're excited!

    Your Minecraft username: BenFett

    Your Skype username: Ben_Fett

    Your Age (16+): 18

Your Time Zone: Eastern standard time.

Your Youtube channel (if you have one): I do not currently have one, though it's a possibility at some point.

How long have you played Minecraft?: I have played with my old account since minecraft beta 1.2, bought my original account when beta 1.3 was released. I just bought a new account today because my old one seems to have disappeared. Either it was deleted or someone stole it and changed the email. Not sure exactly, all I know is that it's gone.

What are your specialities in Minecraft?: I love building and I love being a part of a community. I take on large, crazy projects and I have tons of fun with them. I love chatting with others, building friendships, collaborating with others, etc.

Why do you want to join VisionSMP?: I really enjoy simplistic, community based servers. I've really enjoyed every one I've been on through my years of Minecraft, and yours looks like a great next step!

What are some of your greatest achievements on minecraft? (BONUS: Add pictures): I don't have many pictures of finished projects, but here are a few random photos of previous projects, things I enjoyed, etc. http://imgur.com/a/90cxW\

Here's some more pictures of my last server home, it was a really crazy project but I loved every minute of it. Each lower level had more automatic and normal farms set back into the walls, and I had a huge area underneath hollowed out for planned future projects, but I never got to finish it. http://imgur.com/a/mYsFf

    Thanks for the consideration!

Update, temporarily removed my appdata/roaming/.minecraft to test this independantly. Even with the game location set to G:\Minecraft, it creates these folders.

posted a message on Ways to make an entirely independent minecraft install?

Hello guys, so I am trying to install modded minecraft onto a USB drive. I'm struggling quite a lot with getting everything properly working.

So I have a simple minecraft folder on my drive, where there are the folders game, runtime, and save. I can get minecraft to run normally like that, and it works fine. When I try to install forge into that folder I get an error saying "this directory is missing a launcher profile". If I install forge into the normal appdata/roaming/.minecraft it works fine, and installs the correct folders into my G:\Minecraft folder, but I know if I was to try and boot this on a computer without the appdata/roaming/.minecraft folder it wouldn't work, as it's still relying on that folder.

Have any of you done this before? How did you get it to work?

Is there a config file I can change to edit the maximum amount of addons I can use? I'm currently building a base in a new modded world of mine, but I just found out that I'm very limited in the amount of expansions I can add to it before the new ones won't connect to the core anymore.

Edit: Aha! Found it! It's like a whole new world of config files! This is amazing! I want to bust into song!

posted a message on Is there a way to delete certain mobs from a mod?

I'm currently doing a modded skyblock and I have Mo' creatures installed, but the werewolves are being extremely bothersome. I can kill every other mob with my setup and collect the loot just fine, but with the massive amount of crappy tools dropped by the werewolves it's really becoming bothersome. Is there a way to go about deleting specific mobs from a mod?

Also, I have a mod called spawnercraft that seems to communicate with Mo' creatures and a mod named ore spiders I have installed. I have the items in NEI of what I'd need to be able to spawn the mod mobs, but whenever the Mo' creatures mobs are killed, they drop a ID-less item instead of the one I can clearly see in NEI. I doubt this can be fixed, but anyone who has used these mods and can shed some wisdom would be appreciated.

Seriously, this is a fantastic server. I've loved it the past few days I've been on. I immediately felt welcome and I've built up quite a base in my time on the server! It has a great, mature community, that also loves to joke around and be immature too in all the right ways. Can't recommend the server enough to new players.

Hey guys! I'd like to put up my application to join your server! Thanks for the time and consideration!

    Ingame Name: Ben_Fett
Where are you from?: I'm from Ohio, in the USA, Eastern timezone.
Why do you prefer playing in a small community?: Hmm... What's a good way to put this? The personality. In a small community of players you really get to know people. You form relationships and friendships with the other players. That's just great, and certainly not something you experience in a larger server. Plus, they are often much safer. Your work isn't in danger of griefing, ect.
What is your favourite aspect of playing on a server with a vanilla-like gameplay?: My favorite aspect would probably just be how simple it is. There's nothing fancy and difficult, there's nothing laid out before you. Everything that you do is fully your own creativity. There's no complex mods and tedious things of that sort, just a basic, simple groundwork for you to do whatever you want with.
Tell us something about yourself: I am a homeschooled high school senior, just accepted into college for this fall actually! I'm very excited for it. I'm hoping to do video game art or CGI type production in movies. I've always loved the artistic side of things, and I'm a constant sketcher. I've been away from minecraft for a little while, just because I got burned out on it. I'm back now, and very excited to start playing again, as I've been craving some minecraft time recently.
Why should we accept you?: I'm a friendly, creative player. I fit in well with communities, and while I personally like building by myself, I love hanging out with others, chatting, working on large building projects, ect. I love making bonds and spending time with other players. I'm quite helpful, and I happily will help in any way I can to better the community. I build community farms a lot, simply because they're always incredibly fun projects.

Once again, thank you for your time and consideration! I'd love to be a part of your server and the community within it.

Ah, yes, thank you. That has fixed it. I believe whoever originally told me how to add more ram mistook a letter, since they told me to edit Xmx and Xmn, not Xmx and Xms like I needed to.

This is what mine says. I usually have it on 4Gigs, but I changed it for testing this bug, at the moment it's at 500mb:

    -Xmx500M -XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC -XX:+CMSIncrementalMode -XX:-UseAdaptiveSizePolicy -Xmn500M

Hey guys, I've been having this problem for a little while, and I have no clue how to fix it. It's really frustrating me, because I would really like to get back into playing some more.

Basically the issue I'm having is that the memory usage in the F3 screen slowly raises, until it hits max, I get a large lag spike, and the it repeats, over and over again, the lag spike getting worse every time. In Ctl+Alt+Delete Java slowly raises in memory usage, never lowering.

I have 8 gigs of ram, a 64 bit windows 7, and a GTX560Ti (Not the greatest card, but still a nice one.)

I have Java Version 8 update 25 installed, 64 bit, and my graphics card drivers are up to date. I've messed with raising and lowering the ram, even downgrading to previous versions, and it happens no matter what I do. Do you guys have any info for me? Thanks in advance.

    GENERAL INFO
    Age: 17
    IGN: Ben_Fett
Maturity(be honest): Very mature, though I often joke around. (mainly with corny, lame jokes... Haha)
YouTube Channel: I don't have one at the moment.
Why do you want to join?: I've been away from minecraft for a while, but I'm wanting to get back into it now that I have more time.
Will you participate in community events?(UHCs,Other games, etc.): Of course, I love community events of all kinds, especially UHC.
How often do you plan to play?: I'll probably vary, but I'm homeschooled, so I have very few school hours a day, and I end up gaming or doing my other hobbies pretty much all day, so I'll probably be around a lot.
Are you fine with the fact that we are doing a slowly expanding border?: Of course. I generally like to be a small distance from other people, just to be able to expand and do my own thing, but I will definitely be close by to be a part of the community and spend time with others.

    SKILLS
Building(1-10): I'd say like 8-9 when I really have the vision for a project. (I'm thinking I want to do a build with Prismarine when the update comes out.)
Leadership(1-10): 6-7... I'm not a leader honestly. I'd much rather be a part of a team than be a leader, just how I am.
Redstone(1-10): Eh... Hmm.. I'm not like some of the ridiculous redstoners, but I love making gadgets of all sorts and I learn very quickly.
PvP(1-10): I'm pretty mediocre, maybe 6-7... I just don't PVP a lot, but I'm pretty great at survival... Most of the time... Haha.

This is for anything extra you'd like to say: I just hope you accept me, and I hope the server is a great community like I'm hoping.
