Does anyone have any suggestions on stuff to do or build or work towards in survival? I will do the best idea :)

I actually have a sort of system when I play survival where I actually created an achievements list before I started playing my world. These achievements can range from simple achievements like 'craft magma cream, cookies, etc.' to more advanced ones, such as huge building projects or something that's really difficult to do in a typical survival situation (such as shooting down a bat with a bow, getting a tool with 4 enchantments using an anvil, etc.) When you set goals, you have something to work towards, so it's hard to get bored when you're simply playing survival. It's like completing all the achievements on the list is a long-term goal you can set for yourself to keep yourself occupied.

posted a message on Why Vines Are Better
    Quote from awesomlyawesome

Vines and ladders both have times and places. Honestly, I don't use ladders much when I build my houses because I prefer stairs. And I only climb vines in swamps when I want to find somewhere to build. However, Since I spend lots of time mining, I find ladders better.

Also, theres the sense of realism as I stated. Nobody goes around carrying vines so that they can stick them on walls and climb around the place, and nobody really wants vines creeping around in their house.

Well, vines would look aesthetically more pleasing for jungle-based architecture, though their spreading can get really annoying at times. I prefer to balance between both vines and ladders depending on the kind of strcuture I'm building. I find that I use vines more for design purposes than I use them for climbing (that job goes to ladders)

posted a message on Should Mojang Add The Far Lands To Minecraft Again?
Personally, I feel that adding the Far Lands back to Minecraft would have its drawbacks. From the perspective of someone like kurtjmac who documents every step of the way to the Far Lands, most (90-95%, if not more) of the journey would be sailing through an endless ocean biome. That would certainly bore many people to death, not to mention Kurt himself.

Hello, Isaac, if you are planning on doing more of these general tutorials, perhaps you could cover one on mining techniques? I think it'd be kind of interesting to see how the community feels about the different mining techniques, (i.e. cave mining or spelunking as compared to the traditional branch mining). I guess it's just that the efficiency of varying mining techniques has always been a rather controversial topic amongst people.

Also, about the way you write these tutorials... Not sure what you think, but the MCWiki's tutorial section sure could use someone like you ;)
