    Thank you for the replies!

Changing the settings in Catalyst Control Centre didn't have any effect, unfortunately. Pressing F11 also didn't work. Stretching out the window works sometimes, but some of the time I get the same issue. I had no idea my card was that damn old, so there may be nothing I can do at this point I guess.

I posted this issue a while ago (around Beta 1.8), but it never got any replies and the issue is still present. I would really appreciate some help with this.

Since being given an old PC to replace my broken one, I've developed a new issue with Minecraft. Every time I load the game, the screen tears but only if I maximise the window. If kept in a small window, the game is fine. Occasionally, I am able to stop the tearing by maximising & minimising repeatedly, but then my field of view seems skewed - as if the edges of my view are clipping offscreen. I have no idea what could be causing it. So far, I have tried reinstalling minecraft, reinstalling Java & updating my graphics card drivers. I'm using a Radeon 9800 PRO if that helps. Any tips/suggestions would be much appreciated.

Here is an example of the game being retarded: http://yfrog.com/gyelkp
And an example of the tearing in the game's menu: http://yfrog.com/kk1bm5j
And finally an example of the field of view issue: http://yfrog.com/kjo9ep (Notice how the sword is half offscreen)

posted a message on Achivements & Stats should stay local..
On the other hand, cheating for achievements only matters if you care that someone else has them. In reality, stats & achieves are pretty meaningless. So, if someone has cheated to have their stats say they've killed 9 bajillion monsters, does it really matter? Who cares how long person X has ridden in a minecart for? Stats & achievements should only really have any value to the person who earnt them.

Y'know, no matter how much it annoys you that other posters are telling you to ignore stats, they have a point. Stats don't automatically pop up at any point. They never force themselves upon you. They never even update you with their progress unless you manually choose to look at them.

If they annoy you that much, seriously, just don't click the button. You can't have the best stats, you can't have the best anything in Minecraft. You pretty much have 2 options at this point:

    1. Don't click the button, pretend it's not there and enjoy the game some more.
    2. Ragequit.

    Your choice.
