The fundamental problem with this discussion is that the gold ingot doesn't look like butter. By the same metric, I could call:

The Iron Ingot is clearly an ingot of white cheddar.
seeds look like rabbit droppings. What? Rabbit droppings are brown? Yeah, but not ALL rabbit droppings are brown! So I can call them rabbit droppings!
wheat is a bundle of butter. Clearly. Hey, if gold ingots are "butter" surely wheat is butter, because I mean, It's yellow! Obviously nothing else is yellow despite the fact that butter itself is hardly yellow!
Clearly, the Brick item is not a brick at all! henceforth I shall now call it a brownie!

Well, this is a pretty dumb thing to say. Butter is not east to bend, form, OR shape. Gold is Malleable Butter is NOT malleable.


No, it can't. The gold doesn't break, it is a soft metal- not a brittle metal. If you used a Golden Pickaxe, made out of pure gold, it wouldn't take long for it to become a gold mace with a smushed top. Gold is malleable because it's strangely resistant to Metal fatigue in it's pure form. Butter wouldn't be malleable- a pick made out of butter would break apart when you picked it up.


Chocolate comes in bars. Oh, hey! That's what I'll call Netherbricks! Clearly they are chocolate.


Similarity in color is not much to base such a bold, overused, and idiotic meme. What, in particular, makes calling Gold "butter" any less stupid and idiotic than calling Seeds Rabbit Droppings, or calling bricks brownies?

Home networks may be firewalled but if your out and about on a public network and fire up a single player Minecraft game you could now be potentially opening up a hole in your computer for something to connect to.

If they're pushing single play to multiplayer I want to make sure I don't have to dork around with server configurations just to play a game. That is really unfriendly towards regular users who wouldn't know a port number from an IP address.

PS. Now I have to deal with multiplayer bugs I never had to deal with before in single player. It's a step down really in game quality for people who don't play online.
