IMO, all music is real music. No one genre is easier to write or compose in because of auto-tuning and synthetics (Gotta admit, I die a little inside whenever I hear auto-tuning on the radio). It's all down to the artist or musician(s) as to how good their tracks are and even after that it's all down to you as an individual as to what you decide to listen to and consider as 'real music' . The real question should be "Since when was it necessary to suck mainstream knob to fit in?" I myself listen to artists like Foster the People, Nero, Pendulum, Van Halen, MJ, Jamiroquai, Pretty Lights, Bliss n Eso, Chronic Future and many more.
TBH, I consider all music to be real music. Though I'm not gonna sit down and be quiet if I think a particular artist is just ****. It's still real ****.
I'll be keen to give you a hand where I can :biggrin.gif: I may be able to get some vocals on the track for you, but I might not have the gear. However, I can do some production work on the track if you'd like. Let me know, I'll be travelling Australia for just over a week and I'm leaving to catch my flight in a few hours time. The instrumental sounds good :biggrin.gif: Is it really at 140BPM?(I saw that and thought dubstep remix!!) It has a lot of potential both as an original track and a remix, I'm sure if you can get it heard there will be plenty of that :biggrin.gif:
Strengths: Humour/wit, tech savvy, athletic, quick-minded, intelligent, multi-skilled. Have grown two (quite large) afro's in the past year
Weaknesses: Often lazy, sleep too much, basically turned myself nocturnal, playing too much minecraft
Common problems: 99% of my friends live a fair way out of town, and I have no license yet... The kids that live in the area I do are mainly mainstream assholes, so I don't bother heading out much, which sucks because I miss doing parkour... I've never really managed to make my parents proud or whatever, I think mainly because most of the hard work I do isn't/wasn't at school, it was at work, or just in places they don't see it...
View of the world: People are too busy, too detailed. They need to take time out of life to enjoy it and enjoy the company they have. Needing money is ********.
As someone who's just starting to get into dubstep production.... or rather, a blend of electronica that borrows heavily from various sources, including both Skream AND Skrillex... I'm really curious about the scene.
Your post makes the most sense, in terms of Skream vs Skrillex.
I'm really loving discovering new breeds of dubstep on Soundcloud, though. Just heard a tune that's part Hindu folk music, part dubstep, part trance. Sweet stuff.
You should look up the Pretty Lights remix of John Denver's Country Roads.
It's something a little different, but it's pretty awesome :biggrin.gif:
To be honest, I think that ALL MUSIC is real music... I listen to a pretty huge range of music, from Drum n Bass, Trance, Electro and dubstep to Van Halen, Jimi Hendrix, Michael Jackson and Jamiroquai. The only rap I listen to is Bliss n Eso... I love them, they remind me of growing up XD

Next poster is BE, whom I drop from a ridiculously high height, and fly away to safety. Then I reinstalled a vanilla MC and replaced the save game, leaving you no way to live.
Now that we've established the connection between Minecraft and dubstep...
... will anyone please explain to me why Skream fans hate Skrillex fans?
Going on my own little observations of the dubstep scene, and gut feeling, it seems that Skream fans are angry at Skrillex fans because alot of them are just the mainstream band-wagoners. Personally, I don't really mind skrillex, but I prefer not to listen to his tracks anymore. He's over-hyped. Skream was a big part of the early dubstep scene, but people are going around saying that Skrillex basically invented dubstep. To me, Skrillex took brostep and just... screwed it up, but in a sometimes-pleasant way..
