You're officially my favourite MC modder, mate. XD This **** is genuinely interesting. If you made an entire overhaul based around these ideas, you could have a super cool overhaul

posted a message on [Beta 1.7.3] Minecraft Beta 1.7.4 Custom Update Mod!

I came back to MC after years knowing that I would most definitely not be playing the newer releases. I found Better than Wolves and it it what minecraft should have been, but it still wasn't that simple, humble old minecraft that I so craved. I will remember you, for when I return to beta =) (so damn happy you put the minecart boosters back in x) )

This is absolutely freakin perfect. I was - honestly - just thinking the other night about ways a modder could get zombies to break through walls and get to players. You've done it all, and thought of just about everything! serious kudos my friend :)

This kinda stuff is what creates gameplay, and the need for some seriously defensible bases- something always missing in minecraft. Don't compromise for those not understanding the benefits of increasing the difficulties, just stick to the reason you made this mod like glue - push on!

edit: oh, and good god, steel yourself against the onslaught of inevitable 'Will you update to the next crap version of minecraft?", "pls update". I just had a look through the previous comments. God that bull must be demotivating

Weird. They seem oddly complacent when I start walking towards them with an axe. Guess I'll have to try some more inventive ways of murdering the wildlife, then. This is the fun kind of science!

It is the fun of science :P at my rate of scientific research, I'll be grey haired before I invent the mill stone. Back in 2010 I'd contrive progression systems for myself for lots of things. I'd played the game for 4 months and never went to the nether because I was just waiting for the 'right moment'. I still haven't been to the nether before. This lead up to things I contrive for myself could be considered a problem, but just imagine the awe and excitement I'll feel when I finally jump through that portal at the turn of the century.

    I got problem

So yeah, this is all Notch. There were just a few levels of accumulated grime over his design there that were preventing slimes from shining that I tried to wipe away :)

I played asteroids when I was little baby, and I didn't really appreciate it that much. I noticed that while fighting the slimes I was thinking to myself whether I should kill the larger ones just yet before dealing with the other baddies about. I like that I was prompted to think that by the new way of things.

Made sure to take care of that one before release ;)

It feels good now. The animals get nearly as scared of everything as I am!

I was wondering about animal spawns because I recall hearing about a change to spawns on piggies n co. making them remain dead once deaded. I loved the idea that wiping out an area of animals might cause you to have to go on multiple day-long hunting trips. I've sort of noticed that with my life on the plains. Realising that I'd eaten all my friends nearby I would leave to the far reaches of my land to find me some piggies, and this would give me great adventures. But then I found a cow walking about near my hidey hole's entrance. Did he migrate here, or do animals respawn? And why don't cows try to run away when I pour sand on them? Has the apathy and despondency of western society spread to the poor animals of minecraft?

I feel dirty with this method of slaughter.

posted a message on Alternate Communication
    Alternative Communication

Alright. Well I've come to the suggestion forums with the intention of posting an idea that I've had in my head for quite a while, and here it is.

I'm major on roleplay and immersion, and the default communication system just does not do it for me (Press T to global chat). So I've thought up two new means of communication.

Messenger birds. A player can find eagle nests on top of mountains which contain eggs in them. Said eggs will eventually hatch (if picked by player) into an eagle which for some unknown reason is a trained messenger bird. A new item called 'Parchment' which could be created in batches of 3.
    [] :wood: []
    :wood: [] :wood:
    [] :wood: []

This Parchment will then be used for the writing of your message which will then be attached to the bird using the crafting system perhaps, much like you craft a powered mine cart. You will also have to type the recipients exact username before you can send the bird off to locate the recipient. The bird will then go off and go directly to the recipients general area where the message bird will then give to the recipient if he is on the surface of the world (not in a cave/mine or underwater) , and if the recipient is not on the surface, then the bird will circle around the general area of the player until he/she emerges from the water/cave/house etc. The bird could notify the recipient that it has arrived by letting off a loud eagle like sound I suppose. In regards to how it will get to the recipient the bird could use the same flying method that was used in Minecraft Creative, the hover kind of thing. It would first fly directly up, very high so it does not get stuck on a mountain on it's way there, then it would go to its destination, and descend once it has arrived. Or maybe something completely different!

An alternative to the Messenger Bird idea in case it is impossible to code, could be the following.

A radio station block. This Radio block would act much like a furnace, requiring Flint to use (flint because it's not used to make many items). Every flint piece would allow 5 messages to be sent (globally). The Radio Block would not be used deep inside a cave since all the stone is blocking the radio waves. This also adds the feeling of isolation to the player which = delicious immersion.

Players will also be able to use a local chat by pressing T. This would simply be a player shouting out a message reaching anyone within 30 blocks. This could be used with both the Messenger Bird and Radio Block idea, it also has been mentioned before just for the record.

Now of course the server host/admin will have the option to use these alternative communication devices or simply use the default global chat.

Anyway, this is all I've got to say. Thanks for reading if you did!

    Long live the creeper! :SSSS:
