No, much of the physical terrain in LOTR is dull. Sorry. A volcano, a wood, a valley...
But LOTR is a fantastic and invigorating book. It's not terrain that makes something exciting, it's the people and the situations involving said terrain that provoke interest in any particular story.
Again you are putting it in the most badly detailed way possible. You're pretty much saying that any terrain is going to be dull, unless there are lively and unique personalities to make up for it.
I know this is just your view on it, but you insulted Mr Tolkien's work. I won't stand for that. :smile.gif:
Does it? As far as I'm aware we've spent several days travelling through from a mine to a forest to a swamp to a wasteland to a mountain range and then to an area with lots of pools of water.
And then a tree village.
Most of that doesn't sound like it's particularly exciting. It's the unique characters involved with each particular scene that bring life to the story.
If you're going to describe something so simply and badly detailed, then you could make something amazing like Lord of the Rings sound dull. Sorry, but your point is invalid.
Edit: I do however agree that his brilliant character personalities do bring the story to life. :smile.gif:
I know about this texture pack. I've seen it and it's great, but I'm looking for literally *exactly* the same as the vanilla textures. Thanks anyway though!
Not sure if I'm supposed to post this here, but I'm going to anyway.
Just recently I've decided to go back to the default textures, because they're awesome. But the problem is that I want to use my custom picked paintings, and I cannot use 32px paintings in a 16px world, as you know. So my request is that someone makes an EXACT replica of the default textures, in 32px. I'm not sure if this is a hard task or not, but I know I sure can't do it with the time I have on my hands.
How long do you plan on making this novel, Feather?
How long is a piece of string?
No ideas on length. I have a storyline and goal in mind, discounting other events. I am aiming for a novel methinks, but we'll see what happens. I guesstimate about 30k words have been written right now, with an average of 2100 words per part and another 932 words on the next part.
Oh, and my mother is in hospital now. Something wrong with her liver. Everything's fine, but it means more delays.
Hope she gets better. Glad to hear you're aiming for novel length x)
