BeATz_UnKNoWN posted a message on RIP .mod
    Quote from Ery»

Hello there, if you are a veteran to this section then you may recognize my name. If you do not, then hello. My name is Ery, and I was/still am the youngest person to mod MCPE. I made a .mod when I was 9, and they were quite simple. For the past year or so, it seems that ModPE has taken over .mod files and has become dominant. I just would like to inform everyone that this is why I quit, and it would be interesting to see it return. I will most likely not do so for reasons such as my iPod being unable to use the new versions, and the Jailbreak being broken. I miss everyone, and I hope that everyone who remembers me can relate to what I mean.

This message has been a tribute to the .mod files, and a goodbye from me.

    Farewell,

    Ery

I know what you mean. In my opinion, I don't think addons are that bad though.

How can it be glitchy in a Native Mod? They use the same code that Minecraft Pe uses for itself! I am confused now.

    If it's poorly coded? :P

    BeATz-UnKNoWN's Addons
THESE ARE NOT MODPE SCRIPTS! THESE ARE ADDONS! ModPE is simple and limits the possibilities of mods. I dislike ModPE and I don't make ANY ModPE scripts anymore. If you make ModPE scripts, don't take this as an offense. This is my opinion.
    Addon Template:

    COMING SOON!
    Weaker Mobs:

Makes mobs weaker. Unfortunately, Zombie Pigmen and Villagers are not affected by this mod.

    Download: https://www.dropbox.com/s/xodyp17cff4dd2d/Weaker Mobs.apk?dl=0

    Source Code: Coming soon!

NOTE: For best results use this mod in a new world. If used in a previous world, previously existing mobs will not be affected by this mod. If used in a world you like, disabling/uninstalling this mod will not reset each mob back to their standard versions.

Once you are on the screen that says demo hit select, this will open a file explorer. Navigate to the texture pack and click it. Hit the devise's back button. You should be at launcher options. Hit back again to apply.

What that line you quoted means that android 4.1 cannot access the original McPE textures. This is because in android 4.1 and up you cannot backup paid apps. This means that Blocklauncher can't access it. He has no legal right to put the original textures in bloclauncher.

No, but you're close. Paid apps can be backed up in 4.1+, if the developer allows it. In this case, Mojang probably did android:allowBackup="false". And I think before 4.1, the original textures could be accessed easily. As Android progressed, they disabled this, so the textures would have to be included in the BL app, but he wouldn't be allowed to include the defaults.
    Quote from MCPE_modder_for_maps»
Are there ModPE methods that allow sending data packets? If not, are there any plans to add them?

Or, any plans to re-enable the 0x84 and the "please and thank you" thing?

Where have you been!? I haven't seen you in ages....

500_Internal_Server_Error posted a message on BlockLauncher: an Android app that patches Minecraft PE without reinstall
BlockLauncher: a custom Minecraft PE launcher for Android

    formerly known as MCPELauncher.

BlockLauncher is a custom Minecraft PE launcher that wraps around Minecraft PE and provides loading of patches, and (in the Pro version) texture packs, and server IPs.

Just choose Options on the main screen, then select mods. It is that easy!

This program loads libminecraftpe.so from the currently installed copy of Minecraft PE, so it should be compatible with the mod patching features of PocketTool and QuickPatch.

    Known issues:
    - Jelly Bean users cannot use original textures - they will get the standard demo texture pack
    - You can't use the hidden Camera item

    Download free: http://zhuowei.github.com/MCPELauncher/MCPELauncherApp-release-beta.apk

    Get addons: My addons

For testing, please use an official unmodded copy of Minecraft PE.

Any ideas on how I can make this better than the official launcher?

    Source code: https://github.com/zhuowei/MCPELauncher

This program uses aFileChooser by Paul Burke. See https://github.com/zhuowei/aFileChooser for licensing information.

This program contains code derived from 2of1's awesome Andhook library: https://github.com/2of1/andhook

This program contains the Rhino JavaScript interpreter from the Mozilla project. For license, see https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Rhino/License

This program contains no Mojang-derived code. All methods are implemented based on the official APK's method names and preference files only.

Thanks to Snowbound for his PTPatch reading code, NathanX for the icon, and jiayong for the Chinese translation.

Byteandahalf posted a message on Advanced Custom Block Shapes in BlockLauncher 1.6.11, Furniture!

Hey people, it's your friendly neighbourhood BlockLauncher developer, Byteandahalf :D
You probably know me from Twitter(@byteandahalf)
Anyway, this is something I've been implementing into BlockLauncher, and I'd like to show you a sneak peek of how it works so far.
Here you can see an oven, and two other blocks I worked on to show some other functionalities:

I plan to be adding more functionalities to this, like possibly custom liquid types. Now even though this update hasn't and won't be released yet, I'd like to show you how the API looks currently(This is subject to change greatly):

    Let's define a new block:

var ct = ["cobblestone", 0]<br>Block.defineBlock(23, "Wonder Block", [ct, ct, ct, ct, ct, ct], 0, false, 101);<br>// Give it our custom render type, which I'll make 101.<br>// All custom render types must be greater than 100<br>

The first thing you'll use is this new hook:
    function renderBlockHook(blockId, x, y, z)

This is going to be called every time the game attemps to render a block.
Now, you'll want to use an if statement to see if the block being rendered uses your custom render ID.
    if(Block.getRenderType(blockId) == 101) {<br>renderWonderBlock(x, y, z); // Render our block at that x, y, z location<br>}<br>

Now the fun part, render our block:
     // Our function to render our custom block<br>function renderWonderBlock(x, y, z) {<br>// Let's make an upper cube at the spot<br>// Our custom block's ID is 23<br>Block.setShape(23, 0, 0.7, 0, 1, 1, 1);<br>BlockRenderer.renderBlock(23, x, y, z);<br>//Render that block at the location<br><br>// Now make the bottom cube<br>// Change the shape of our block 23 again<br>Block.setShape(23, 0, 0, 0, 1, 0.3, 1);<br>BlockRenderer.renderBlock(23, x, y, z);<br>// Now render the bottom block at this location<br><br>// Now we'll add a diamond textured cross<br>BlockRenderer.renderCross(57, x, y, z);<br><br>// And now a torch<br>BlockRenderer.renderTorch(50, x, y, z);<br>}<br>

    And now you're done! :D
Now whenever you place your wonder block, you get a custom shaped block in that location!

I hope lots of people will make great use of this once the update comes out :D
    Please be patient!

    Assuming you are right handed

Place your index finder on the mouse wheel. Slowly move your finger forward and pay attention to the screen. Repeat this motion until you find your answer.

    Nice one, BeATz! ;)

Where have you been!? I haven't seen you in ages....

I left the ModPE community for almost half a year. I am mainly at the PocketMine community http://forums.pocketmine.net . You can also see what I have done these months at https://github.com/PEMapModder . JavaScript isn't my cup of tea, so I left.

Hexdro posted a message on Pokecube PE v5 By Hexdro [0.13.1]
Pokecube PE ISN'T DEAD: If any of you follow my twitter, you would see I'm working on a game with a few other people from the MCPE community such as NgameBro and Khooplah. Pokecube PE was a great mod, but at the current moment in time I have lost a bit of my motivation on modding for MCPE - Modding isn't what I want to do in the future, I'd like to be a game developer and thought modding would be a good starting place. So i'm taking a bit of a break and will be back for 0.10.x (or maybe earlier). I also have to deal with things such as school, etc as I have the end of year exams coming up and need to study. This doesn't mean Pokecube PE is dead, it just probably won't recieve a 0.9.x release (but will recieve one for upcoming MCPE updates such as 0.10.x), which is a shame, I will be releasing some of the code for things like models so people can play around with it though. The reason that I also started creating a game with my other MCPE friends, is because I felt that Pokecube PE was getting too big and should just be it's own game instead of relying on MCPE, which also limited some of the things that I could put into the mod. The test version of Pokecube PE for 0.9.x had easily over 12k lines of code written for it, and I still had yet to write a ton of code. It also took awhile to install, and you had to install things like sounds, put images into the root of the SD Card, as well as install the textures which was a long process. This standalone game wouldn't exactly be Pokemon (as I'd have legal issues here), but would feature alot of the things that was present inside Pokecube PE. Plus 0.10.x is almost out and no point having to do a double update.
I hope you guys understand, and thanks for reading the confusing, weirdly worded block of text.

PS: I don't want a moderator to lock this thread yet, as I will be posting the 70+ or so models that was going to be featured inside the new update here so people can play around with it, and a few other things. Also, i will not be giving anyone permission to continue on this mod as I will be back, though you are free to make your own Pokemon Mod as long as it is 100% YOUR code and has a different name.

Also I can foresee a ton of rude comments about not having a Pokecube PE v3 release, coming. Don't be rude, modders also have lives (this only doesn't apply to me but all modders), and ironically aren't machines that code 24/7 catering to all your entertainment needs, and may have other things/dreams they want to pursue.

tldr; mod is put on hold for a bit for a couple of reasons - i have not quit modding, its just temporary.
