Also solved it, literally as you were replying i told you lol. clever puzzles looking forward to more. if i may make a suggestion though, most of the difficulty is coming from how vague the starting clues are. try to make more puzzles that are easy to start, but difficult to solve. not saying you cant have vauge starts, but keep in mind most people will get frustrated with the lack of direction, because you need to figure out the directions to solve the puzzle, and then solve the puzzle.

I think it's possible to have both types of puzzles. Like the third puzzle, once you figure out what the contents of the signs mean it's really easy to find the code fragment. The puzzle is in figuring out what the room is all about.

I agree with your point for puzzles like the second one though.

    Thanks for playing! B)

by the way both of the first and second puzzles were very reasonable but it definitely cant be done in 60-90 without prior knowledge or you over estimate everyone's puzzle solving ability. it feels like they are getting exponentially harder rather than a gentle slope of difficulty. for reference it took me about 2 hours to navigate to the stronghold, solve the first puzzle, fight the mobs, solve the second puzzle, then navigate to the third one.

Thanks for the info. I'll increase the estimated time in the post.

Can a guy get a little hint? ;) I have been doing a certain puzzle for a couple of hours and am just stumped. Spoiler alert for those of you that haven't gotten this far.

I am currently on the puzzle with the colors and numbers that add up to 25. I can't see any pattern or anything that makes sense. Maybe a little push in the right direction could help?

I'll just say this since it may not be obvious from the room layout:

The small numbers on the sign relate to the picture above it. The large
numbers on the other side of the room relate to the tiles on the floor.

    Good luck B)

I thought a real treasure hunt would be more interesting. Have you ever heard of an old game named Swordquest?

Some people are reporting that the text on the signs in the "Pirate Puzzle" of episode 2 is missing words. I think it happens if you're not using the default Minecraft textures so disabling extra resource packs may fix it. In any case, I'll put a copy of the full questions below.

    Episode 2, Pirate Puzzle Questions
Which drink does Captain Firebrand prefer?
What year was Captain Tetra executed?
Which drink does the pirate who has a parrot prefer?
What was the pet of the pirate who was executed in 1648?

    Who prefers whiskey?
What pet did Captain Blight have?
What was the preferred drink of the pirate executed in 1650?
What was the pet of the pirate who preferred ale?

Deep in debt with no relief in sight, can you solve Satoshi's puzzles and claim his treasure?

    Story

Times are tough in your home town of Norfield and it seems like everyone is struggling. Every month you risk losing your home to the bank. Now that the bank has taken your most precious possession and disaster strikes, all seems hopeless. But this disaster offers a unique opportunity.

    Description

Satoshi's Treasure is a multi-episode adventure map focusing on story, puzzles, and large-ish builds. Like typical adventure maps, you go around exploring places, killing monsters, collecting items, talking to NPCs, and unlocking the next part of the story. In addition there is a CTMish aspect where solving puzzles gives you Code Fragments. This was a real treasure hunt that ended on 11/7/2015. Congrats to the winner!

Episode 1 is moderately difficult. It can be completed in approximately 1.5 - 2.5 hours.

Episode 2 has a little less combat than episode 1 so is a little easier. It can be completed in approximately 1.25 - 2.5 hours.

Episode 3 has some more difficult puzzles. It can be completed in approximately 1.5 - 2.5 hours. Potentially longer if you get stumped by a puzzle.

Episode 4 can be completed in approximately 1.5 - 2.5 hours.

Episode 5 is the final episode. It can be completed in 1-2 hours, maybe longer if you have difficulty with the puzzles.

    Features
    • Explore huge ancient ruins
    • Challenging puzzles that require logic (NO parkour)
    • Awesome cutscenes and special effects
    • Custom resource pack with textures and sounds
    • Four different endings
    • Real treasure (treasure hunt ended on 11/7/2015)

    Notes
    • This map is for Minecraft 1.8.9 (no mods needed).
    • There is a custom resource pack in the level directory so if you're playing in single player mode then it should load automatically. If you're playing on a server then the 'resources.zip' file in the level directory can be copied out and installed just like a normal resource pack.
    • If you're playing on a server then you must enable command blocks and set difficulty to normal in the server config.
    • This map should be multiplayer compatible for 2 or 3 players.

    Playthroughs

I've moved the list of playthroughs onto a separate page because they were lagging the page load too much.

posted a message on 72 Seconds || A puzzle map that only takes 72 Seconds!

Wow, I thought this was a really cool map and the concept is awesome B)

I think I found the right path but I just can't make it through in 72 seconds. I may have missed something because I never figured out what the torches or the jukebox were for.

Awesome map, I could tell it took a lot time (right?)

Thanks B) . It took a while to build - over 140 hours I think.

Dude, so beautiful! The little village, the cutscene where he kicks you out of the window in the bar, the lava rising and the shatters... And the final music... The earth...

BEAUTIFUL! The only issue: very short. But it is very well done! Keep creating adventures, I loved it!

    9/10

Thanks! I'm glad you liked it B)

Hey Bauwks..... Got into the debug room. Can I make a video in the room and post in YouTube without saying how to do it?

Sure, I don't mind at all.

I saw your videos and it made me change a couple of things in the map. "Right on schedule" level has changed at the end part and I geared up the player more for the final boss so he is not too frustrating.

Cool B) . I think I cheated in the "Right on Schedule" challenge by picking up the minecart :o

This was a really cool map! I liked a LOT of the challenges. The ones like Major Distraction, Taking care of business, Rhythm Bridge, and Ditch & Switch all were pretty unique and required genuine concentration to complete. Those were my favorites. I also liked how the challenges got progressively more difficult.

A couple of the challenges had me almost raging, like Par-Gore and Let it Blow but I eventually got them. My only real criticism about the map would be the final boss fight. It is way too hard to get in close to strike with the sword without getting knocked into the lava.

Overall it's a pretty solid map. Thanks for making it B)

I recorded my play through if you're interested:

I'm trying to build my own map, I don't want to have the command blocks just move the mobs by having them click away like most people use to move them, how did you get the main characters to move and walk like normal players?

The trick is to repeatedly teleport the mob quickly along the path you want it to move. The client automatically applies the walking animation to it.

Awesome map Bauwks! I really enjoyed it!

I especially enjoyed the cutscenes in this map, they are amazing!

I would really like to see how you made them, because i've always wanted to make an adventure map myself :P

So my question really is: Could I take a look at your command blocks? It would really help me to gain some more knowledge about the whole map-making progress...

Thanks B) . The command blocks are at 0, 0 so if you "/tp 0 64 0" then you will be right in the middle of them all.
