Iron Golems are coded to attack them, and they apparently don't spawn randomly like most other hostile mobs, so I think the main idea of these guys is to be another threat to villagers.

Don't iron golems attack every hostile mob ecept creepers? Anyway, I agree that they could be a villager threat.

There must be a reason why Mojand decided to make the witch look like a villager, and not a horrible skeleton or zombie.

I think this hints at them being in houses.

Now, obviously, they won't be in normal villages because all witches are outcasts. Instead, I think they will make a small, eroded house there home, and these will spawn in the overworld. Hopefully, these houses will contain loot in the form of potions. I don't think they will have spawners, but a few of them will spawn per house.

Because they have random rare loot, putting them in a house with loot alone would be pointless. For this reason I think they will also randomly spawn like other mobs, but be rarer than endermen.

Overall, I hope that them dropping potions will add potions to the arsnal of the new player, varrying combat.

posted a message on Expanding the Command Block System: Condition Diodes
It is basicly the opposite of the command block. The command block outputting commands, and the diode waiting for those commands to happen.

I'm all for anything that improves adventure maps, and this will definitely do!

A side note though: it seems better for it to output a redstone pulse when a condition is satisfied rather than turning into a sold block (even though it makes easy AND gates it inhibits your space in any other situations)

posted a message on Furnace Upgradeability, next step in better production!
I don't think that there should be a strait upgrade to the furnace and having a gold and diamond furnace seems weird. The iron furnace might be a good addition, but if a new furnace is ever made it should be made of brick.

Building on that, I don't think it should be an upgrade rather than a different type entirely. Mabye the brick furnace could prepare food more effectively, giving it a saturation buff. A downside to it would be that it can't cook ores.

Why we don't need upgrades to furnaces to improve speed/efficency: You can make more furnaces and split your smelting materials up to decrease the time it takes them to smelt, and you get so much coal from caving that there is no need for it to work any better than it does. There are also tons of other fuels that work better and are fairly cost-effective like buckets of lava.

posted a message on Quests in Minecraft (Described and Shown with Concept Images)
I like the idea of some kind of quest, but I don't like the classic RPG style. I think the villagers should not be able to speak English, and therefor have to represent to quest with symbols. For instance: sword means kill, and skeleton head means skellies.

However, I think in some ways the trading acts as a kind of questing, becuase you go out of your way to give them items (like paper) you don't have lying around.

The most important advice I can give to improve the idea is: Keep It Simple. (+No lore)

Maybe allow people to make custom quests in-game in creative, using a GUI?
It would be brill for adventure maps.

This would be the best use of any quest system added.

    Lots of great ideas.

I don't like the Char enchantment.

I think the Cursed potion effect should cause an increased crit chance on you. This stacks with the attackers luck.

    Quote from Twister1134

It's not a good idea to double post, especially when it bumps a thread almost a month old.

I would like to see more console commands, but some of these just wouldn't fit with minecraft, or could simply allow abusive admins to puppet other players.

By replying, you bumbed my thread too.

So you are saying that abusive admins can't abuse the tp command? Also, if admins abuse you on a server, pick a better server. I think that overall the benifits outweigh the drawbacks.

I only liked the Bust and Prospect. The others just don't seem to add much, or should be aplied to tools in other ways. For example crafting a sword with a poison potion to apply poison to enemies.

posted a message on The Sling
I never wanted the projectiles to fly as far as the bow shoots, at least for potions. I think that snowballs should go longer than a bow because they are less powerful. I also liked the bullet-spread idea, that balances Pvp well. However, a bullet-spread where it was nearly impossible to hit would be bad.

    The Sling

Ever since the beginnings of splash potions, I have wondered how you are suppose to make good use of them with their small range. You have to use highground to even hit them, and even when you do if they don't die you have to reach into your inventory to grab another one. This makes them completely inefficent to use on even powerful targets, especially since you can just hit them with a bow from miles away.

The sling has one main use: Shoot normally throw items from your inventory over long distances.

It has a drawback like the bow, but a far faster one. It is not as spammable as normally throwing items, but still fast. The crafting recipy would involve leather and string.

Its one main use branches off into other uses. The first is to make efficent weapons out of nearly useless items. Splash potions are the main example, but I think snowballs and eggs should be included in this too. Since they are traveling at higher speeds, they deal more impact damage, 1/2 a heart to be exact. This wouldn't be overpowered, because you can't spam them like when they are thrown.

The second use would be to use items from your inventory without openning it and swapping out items on your hotbar. The only item you would have in your bar is the sling. It chooses which projectile to launch by scanning your inventory the way the bow does for arrows. This means the arrangment of items in your inventory determines which items you sling and when. The benifit is that you don't have to put items onto your hotbar after you use the first one.

Another small use is throwing enderpearls long distances. they work like every other thing you can shoot from the sling!

The sling can't shoot things like rocks, gravel, etc. only already throwable items.

Overall, the sling sacrifices a little bit a spammablity for a longer range. When used with splash potions, it is an amazing combination

posted a message on Iron Chest: A simple upgrade.
    Quote from Phoenix750

Maybe the iron chest would simply only be able to be opened if there is redstone powering it. It would also be as blast-resistant as an Iron Door, and also have the same amount of storage as a normal chest, would help make some interesting maps

    This would be AMAZING

posted a message on Fire Charges as Fuels in a Furnace
This sounds great at first, but when you think about it, two of the items you used to make this are already fuels! One of them is a blaze rod, which burns longer than what you suggested. With that in mind, you would be tempted to make it just a strait upgrade, but is it really needed? Even if it was more efficent, you need to craft it, which sacrifices time. Therefore, it would either be time or effiecency, and you'd have to choise. Do we want this? Mabye we do! It is ultimately for Mojang to decide, but I personally think they shouldn't bother.

    Expanded Consol Commands

When I saw that the new "command block" could acually use consol commands I was overjoyed. This is so amazing! Then I began thinking of possibilites like cutscenes. To include this and many other possiblies, I will suggest a few more consol commands to mojang.

/pulse (coordinate): This commands will pulse redstone at the given location. This opens up many possiblies, mainly wireless redstone. Using this you could literally pulse any redstone wire from within any other loaded chunk. You could also use this with things that require a redstone pulse to activate.

/spawn (entity id) (coordinate): This command would be designed to work just like a spawner, able to spawn modified mobs as well as normal ones. This also works with primmed TNT, and other entities making them able to be used in cutsceens.

/say (name) (message): This message is designed to be npc text. Name is the name the consol will say said the text. In other words, typing "/say "Professor Grizwald" "HEEEELLLLOO" will display a message like this "<Professor Grizwald> HEEEELLLLOO"

/freeze (player): This command will do as it says and freeze players in spot. This is purely for cutscenes, as it would freeze there camera movement as well.

/look (player) (coordinate): This command forces a player to look in a certain direction. The coordinate would be the x,y,z they would look at. This command over-rides the freeze command.

With these commands you can pull off so much. If this were added, cutscenes would be possible in adventure maps. With the entity spawner command, you could do a lot of things, like causing TNT to spawn and clear the way, having mobs in an epic battle be damaged by a barrage of arrows from the castle, and have gravel fall from the sky caving in the tunnel behind you. With the freeze, and look commands, you can control where players are focus and make cutscenes that look amazing. With the pulse command, you can create wireless redstone which will declutter your adventure map's redstone. And of course, modifing the say command would add a better role-playing element to maps. Its far better than having to go into a seperate window to read notes, that for sure!
