    I think the enchantment system is the best right now. Changing anything so you can see enchantments will ruin the game for the hardcore people because they will have no incentive to build crazy machines to make xp for the (skeleton xp farms). Refunding xp from the books is a little better, but frankly it would be better if they just gave the useless enchantments a buff so you would want to use all the books you enchant.

    First off, I'd like to say that crafting clay into a clay ball seems weird because it is already a ball.
    Anyway, my suggestion:
    Instead of having the bricks/clayballs deal damage, I think they should be part of a new puzzle mechanic. Mabye when you drop a brick/clay entity (with q) it will be able to activate stone pressure-plates or count as a higher weight value for the new weighted pressure plates. This could help map developers out making interesting puzzles.

    I would like the ascetic of a clay golem (mabye one built out of the new hardened clay), but I can't think of a use for it. I certainly shouldn't be very strong, or a fighter as (like people pointed out) clay is so common it would easily be OP. Instead, mabye this golem can mine and digs out an area like a quarry (slowly of course). There needs to be a way of doing this.

    Update Log:
    1.01
    -More wood on lava island along with more treasure to make it a more viable option
    -Fixed bugs

    Introduction: This is a floating islands style map similar to that of Skyblock or the original Skylands back in the day. This is a particularly challenging map, harder than Skyblock as you don't start out with a tree. It utilizes many custom data crafting introduced in the latest and previous update (Thanks Dinnerbone :steve_wink: ). That is what makes it different from other maps of this kind, as my searches for sky maps using these features has been fruitless. This is most likely because of the new spawning, but I believe I've fixed that.

    Information: Well you just want to see things and get a gist for what the maps about so lets skip right to it. Here are some lovely pictures:



    While those pictures display the outside appearance of the areas in the map, I left a few surprises there that may or may not get in your way.
    A big idea in this map is that you can get almost every item and get it in infinite amounts (including diamonds), but don't think it is going to be easy! Also, don't break the spawners they are useful!

    Challenges:
    -Don't die at all (Good luck)
    -Set up farms for every spawner (Yeah, right.)
    -Make a mob system (I doubt you'll finish it)
    -Play on Hard (You won't)
    -Don't take the items from the starter chest (Muhahaha)
    -Kill the Wither (Actually possible)
    Easy Challenges: (Wait then whats the point?)
    -Build a cobblestone generator (real original)
    -Don't suicide for hunger refill
    -Find every Island
    -Kill a ghast
    -Get a diamond
    -Build a nice house with some glass
    -Build a castle in the sky
    Summary: Just download the map and prepare to die.

    I never said that. This idea is completely magical! I merely said future recipies could use the lightning impling elemental magic, not machines. Sorry you missunderstood.

    posted a message on Crying obsidian in the End towers.
    The only problem I see with this would be that there would a finite amount of crying obsidian. I do, however, like how It looks in the nether (but mabye to better fit the theme of the end, make the "tears" purple). Because of this, I think that any obsidian place in the end turns into crying obsidian after an amount of time. Lore could link this to the obsidian being infused with end magic.

    Currently in Minecraft there is no way to manipulate lightning in vinilla and especial in survival minecraft, yet it is such a cool mechanic. Even when playing, you barely ever have it near you and you never seem to fight charged creepers. This will change that.


    How to Get It

    To bottle lightning you need to create a sturcture in the world:

    :goldore: - Solid Gold Block (represented by gold ore)
    :stone: - Hopper (represented by stone)

    This is from top to bottom. This structure attracts lightning, meaning in a thunderstorm their is a greater chance of this being hit than anything else (also the higher you are the better the chance is). Once it attracts the lightning it then relays it to whatever is under the hopper. Gold is a really conductive material and is used in making wires, so it seemed the logical choice for the item that attracts the lightning. The hopper is a collector block that moves items. It is not the ideal block for the job, but it seems the most logical out of what Minecraft already has implimented.
    This does not nessesarily only have to be used for bottled lightning. It could simply set fire to the block undernether the hopper or convert creepers and pigs into there shocked forms. However the primary use would be bottled lightning. To do this, simply put a brewing stand under the hopper, and fill it with empty bottles. When the lightning strikes it will convert only one bottle in the brewing stand into a bottled lightning bottle.

    Uses

    A plain bottle of lightning can't be used for much with my idea, but it does present possiblities for crafting recipies that use electiricty as an ingredient.
    Instead, what you want to do with that bottle of lightning is convert it into a splash bottle of lightning. To do this simply brew the bottle of lightning with gunpowder like any other splash potion. When this splash potion is throw, a bolt of lightning will drop from the sky and hit the location it landed. In survial this is simply portable lightning and a means of willingly getting charged creepers.
    The splash bottle of lightning's main focus is in PvP and map making. Think of how fun it would be to smite your enemies? Another main focus is map making. Since the throw splsh potion is an entity, this means it can be spawned from spawners that have custom data. It would also be able to be launched from dispensers. This means map makers can create lightning whenever they want, a useful tool for ambience or a letial weapon.

    Summary

    I think lightning needs to be a more major part of the game since it is such a cool mechanic. If not this, then some other way of using lightning. In addition, I think that the conductivity of armor could be used a way to balance iron and diamond armor in PvP, but thats a whole different topic. This bottled lightning would be a nice way for map makers and PvPers to use lightning. If you support or have something to add please reply. Constructive critism is always allowed!

    Slimes are perfectly fine the way they are. Since they only spawn in certain chunks, map makers can just avoid these chucks and build wherever they want. If slimes could spawn anywhere (even just below level 20) map makers would have to change there maps (most likely raising them, and not being able to use void fog in their maps). However, I do like the magma cream converting idea.
