To be honest, the whole laptop is really bad. Laptops are generally not for gaming at all, and you're running it on an integrated graphics card which is horrible for gaming. How you are managing 25-40 FPS on normal is beyond me. Increasing ram will not help after a certain amount. I have 150 mods installed on my computer and have 2.5 gigabytes of ram allocated only because I would get out of memory errors if I didn't, not for FPS. For vanilla Minecraft, anything over 1 gigabyte is pretty much wasted.

As for TF2 playing well, it's because it's very well coded and optimized. I'm not an expert in coding and whatever, but Minecraft does a lot of checks constantly (like lighting to see if mobs can spawn and whatnot) and that can be a little intensive.

You're probably in adventure mode. Do the command "/gamemode 0" to fix it.

posted a message on Making Voice Audio Sound Better
Ah alright thanks for the tips. This is my computer desk (probably should have posted this in the OP)

(Wow that's a big picture) but I don't know if blankets would be the best for this. I feel like my voice is bouncing off my monitor the most, which I can't cover. Currently I position it in front of me, but would a boom stand be a lot better? I'm typically a loud person so I probably shouldn't have the mic too close to me without me having to do some serious sound lowering in Audacity/Audition.

    Hi,

I currently use a Blue Snowball Mic because I've heard really good things about it. I was really impressed with some mic quality tests so I decided to get it. Let's just say that it's not "up to par." It sounds strange.

    My setup:

    - My Blue Snowball is about 1 foot away from me.
    - I record using Adobe Audition, using noise reduction and the "Radio Announcer" effect preset.
    - I have my Blue Snowball on the "1" setting
    - No pop filter

I'd like to make mine sound somewhat like this video (I just searched Blue Snowball Mic Test and found one with good audio):

    However, mine sounds like this:

What could I do to improve it?

Edit: Or if no one will help me here, where's a place I can get help from?

Edit 2: Or could someone tell me what this thing is?

I think it may be my voice bouncing off of my monitor and this *should* eliminate that.

Edit 3: It's called a Porta Booth. Really bulky and expensive. Never mind. Any chance of making a tiny one around my Blue Snowball?

If this is an Extra Bees replacement, does that mean that Platinum Bees, Diamond Bees, Copper Bees, etc. are in?

Why do you have that JVM argument? The

    XX:HeapDumpPath=MojangTricksIntelDriversForPerformance_javaw.exe_minecraft.exe.heapdump

one. But try disabling Pam's Harvestcraft and see if that's the problem. Also, I'm pretty sure Mo' Creatures is 1.6.4 compatible so try going to the recommended version of 1.6.4 Forge. Also, there should not be a coremods folder. That was removed in 1.6. Everything should go in the mods folder now.

Oh and this is the wrong section. You'd get more help in the Modded Client Support section. This section is for Minecraft Mods only, not support.

I've been crashing sometimes when sounds are produced. First it was due to killing a bat and the sound was messed up or something which caused a crash so I consulted Google and it told me to delete my Resource folder in .minecraft and everything worked fine. However, I'm getting it again and my resource folder wasn't recreated so I don't know what to do now. Any help?

Is there anything in the crash log/Forge log? You may be getting an out-of-PermGen error. Trying adding this:

    -XX:MaxPermSize=512M

to your Java Arguments. Also, try going into the GregTech config and disabling huge and large Granite veins to spawn. Or try allocating more ram, if you haven't. I allocate 2.5 gigabytes with mine and I only use about 1.8.

Awesome! Sorry I didn't reply at all yesterday; my internet was down. All of today I was Christmas shopping (very last minute, I know :P) But love the changes. If you ever make any big updates or there comes a time where a lot has changed, I'll be happy to do an updated spotlight on it. Also, here's an idea: Make a charge station kind of block that can recharge items at a much faster rate. There used to be an item in GregTech that did it (The Charge-O-Mat) that had a 10 million EU Storage in it and charged tools and armor incredibly fast but it was removed. I think something like that would be extremely useful because the Iridium Bore Drill takes a very long time to charge up. Just a small suggestion in case you needed one :)

Made the spotlight and uploading now. If you don't like it, tell me to redo it and I will. I may just have slipped in some suggestions in the video too :P

    Edit: Woohoo, Spotlight up!

VERY great mod so far. Definitely making a spotlight for you. I have it all planned out now so it should be up rather soon. Also, use the ore dictionary for items like iron plates. Right now I can only use IC2's but with GregTech, it unifies to Railcraft's. It's just a bit easier for people with multiple mods installed.
