Just curious, but does anyone else get block lag with the beta 1.7.9 optifine? I find myself mining blocks and they tend to disappear then reappear for a couple seconds before disappearing again and the item dropping. I havent noticed this with placing blocks, but only with mining. So far this has been the only issue ive experienced with the 1.7.9 version. Also off topic, but is there an estimated release date for a full release of optifine on 1.7.9? I dont exactly see nearly as much of a FPS increase in this beta version as Ive had in past versions (like 1.6). Im around 20 stable FPS where as Ive had 30-50 on previous versions. Just seems like a pretty big drop imo. Was hoping to see a full release soon as Ive been waiting for several months now.
I think everything looks pretty great from the Pictures posted. Im downloading this atm and will try it out. My only complaint is that most of the tools look the same. I like having a variety of looks for all the tools/weapons. Like a diamond and iron sword shouldnt look the same/similar. But thats me really.
Ill edit this once I take a look at it in game.
I expected a bit more cartoon look based on what I saw but it seems to have a more rpg feel. Either way I really do like this pack. The tools arnt too bad. If anything I didnt exactly see that the wooden/stone tools are a bit different. I still feel that the diamond/gold/iron should be different as well. But everything looks good either way. nice pack. Will definitely keep tabs on this.
Also I dont know if this a bug but I seen the MCpatcher sign notice on my nether portal when I was playing. Thats never happened using any other texture pack. I use optifine- latest version for 1.5.1
Thanks very much Well if you really want to try the shaders I have already helped a number of people who couldn't get them working who now have them running totally fine with CH Best thing is to register on the CH website ( then follow the FAQ on the website) see how you get on. Then post in the support thread if/when you struggle. Also have a read of this thread as I helped someone get them running and now all is great. You must use OptifineA8 and shadermod1.5 http://www.chromahil...ic.php?f=4&t=33
Ahh well I think I finally understood what to do. I added everything correctly and it worked perfectly So thanks for that. Sadly though it made my game really laggy and basically unplayable. I guess my poor laptop cant handle it xD Oh well. Eventually Ill get a new pc here thatll be able to. Can only wait till then. But from what I did see everything looked beautiful. Very well done. Ill definitely be using the none shader version
If i knew how to use shaders Id surely try this out on a new MC world for the entire experience. But everytime Ive tried using them they dont work xC lol. There are just to many out there with there own instructions on how to install and they never seem to work for me. Might just be my computer though. Ill be sure to try out the regular TP though. This looks simply amazing.
I really love your mobs. I like the ones that are similar to the default mc but just cleaner looking. They look REALLY well done. Im kind of stuck deciding which one to download. I guess Ill just have to download all 4 and try each out.
Hmmm, I normally really hate 32x and below res texture packs but this has captured my attention. The ores look very well done. Which is mainly what I care about when using a TP because its SO hard sometimes trying to figure out what ore is what. I love how these are nicely done and easily recognizable. I will surely give this a download. Not sure if it can compete with my 128x/256x tps but those push my computer to far sometimes xD Ill be glad to try this out for a change of pace.
I tried this amazing TP back when it was 1.4.7. maybe 1.4.5. Before the newer additions to the 128x/256x and let me say. It got so much better! I love this tp. Its so hard to decide between this and a couple others. So I made my own seperate worlds to enjoy each TP xD. Really hope you can add some mod texture support for some of the really fantastic ones that are out there. Like thaumcraft/mystcraft. Not trying to rush/urge you or anything. Just a suggestion if you ever feel interested
Instability effects are qualities of the world, not the player or the game. The world has a poisonous atmosphere, the world is falling apart, the world impairs player vision.... The world forces the camera outside the player's body doesn't make sense the way the others I listed do.
Ahh alright. That explains a good bit more about stability then. With that cleared I can think of suggestions more easily. (stability effects and symbols).
And yeah, as i said the whole 3rd person thing really was just a random thought lol! But yeah I agree. It wouldnt make much sense lol. And It would be annoying to no end. 3rd person tends to always look horrible in first person games. (skyrim, fallout, MC, ect). Never tends to look good no matter what..
Also Thanks for the feedback! Ill be sure to think of more suggestions as I really like mystcraft. Plus I have lots of spare time on my hands lol. Cant wait for future additions
There are two different things here:
1. Speed of suns across the sky, to give you more daylight.
2. Tick rate of blocks.
Tick rate of blocks can be increased with "accelerated".
There is no symbol to decrease it, and I suspect that forge lacks the needed hooks. But it does make for an interesting thought.
Hmm. So like "Dense ores", you would have "Dense flowers", or "Dense decorations". Interesting ...
I'd hate to see twilight forest with "dense decorations", if it doubled their canopy trees ...
F5?
I don't think it makes sense as a game mechanic to be forced.
For the F5 I was more or less thinking of having the option (F5) being disabled while in that particular age and being forced to play in that mode. I really dont like third person MC imo and if it were a instability effect it would encourage safer stable ages. It really was just a random thought lol.
Also for the fast forwarding symbol I didnt mean by days pass faster, or more ticks per second (well I did mean this too for the farming aspect) but I meant the game actually plays faster than normal. If youve ever played SSBB (Super smash bros. brawl) and tried the faster gameplay speeds in training/custom matches youll understand what I mean. It would be simple and perhaps weird but nonetheless an option for spicing up gameplay. Of course the reverse could be true as well. Having a slower world. Though that would only be a hindrance imo.
Anyways thanks for the feedback. I thought pretty much most of my suggestions must've been suggested at one point of time. But didnt see any on this forum. So thats mainly why I tried to post them.
Im pretty new to mystcraft so I dont know all of the symbols (and doubt I will anytime soon since theres quite a bit) so sorry If I suggest one that may exist already xC but heres some that ive been thinking of.
-Im not sure If its entirely possibly but a symbol that can alter the flow of time would be cool! There is already an instability side effect like mining inefficiency which slows your mining down. So why not have a symbol that can increase/decrease the speed of the world in a broad sense or a more narrow one. Im speaking in terms of narrow though. Preferably for farming. (so basically only plants grow faster, maybe animals breed faster?). But being able to run the game faster would be nifty too. kind of like a fast forwarding thing but for the entire game. I really dont know if this could be possible since I have no idea about modding.
-I think a symbol that could possibly affect sound would be nifty. Something like a noise distortion/or noise swapping would be cool but that sounds like It could also be a high instability effect. Though im not sure if you can add stability effects?
-Lava Rain/Acid Rain would be really cool. It could also be a high instability effect. Rain in that particular age could cause very small damage over time (Though thats not really a good symbol if it did! XD). Like lets say 1/2 heart every 5 seconds. It would encourage players to find shelter and delve into caves or such.
-Would a garden symbol be nice? I think thatd be cool. Something like a garden of eden or something. Basically just lots of different types of flowers (even the ones from others mods) could be spawned in a very natural nature type environment with lots of plants of all kinds. Probably would lower stability as it could potentially have rare kinds of plants (like stuff from forestry or other mods like extra biomes ect). This could probably be a biome symbol once you figure out the coding for biomes.
- I think a Fog/Mist symbol would be really cool. You could have a misty/foggy world in where the mist/fog is thin/thick (those could be modifiers). Could add stability since it hinders your vision somewhat. could also be paired with the color symbols and change the color of the mist/fog?
-A symbol for viewing your character in 3rd person? XD It sounds like more of a bad instability side effect (That would be kind of cool too). It sure would annoy me! lolol. But then again it would teach you to not make really unstable ages.
-Lastly, could there also perhaps be a gravity type symbol? Where gravity would be potentially different ? Preferably lower so you could jump higher than normal and such? Being higher doesnt really sound like itd do anything except give more fall damage... But who knows.. lol.
Anyways sorry for the long post xD Ill probably spoil these suggestions so it doesnt take up the page lol. Again sorry if these were already suggested and/or are already in mystcraft. Ive been playing with mystcraft for all week and havent seen anything like what I thrown out there (a week really isnt that long either but oh well lol..). Also I more than likely think half of my suggestions are probably impossible lol but thats cause I dont know much about modding. So i dont really know what IS possible or not. So sorry if that is the case as well xC
Is it sad that I think over half of these fake additions sound really good? I sure hope they take a bit of these additions to heart and put em to future releases.
To me it seems this map caters too much for those who have already played the game, because there is definitely a lack of direction for those who have never played LttP, I think you should be given a book periodically to guide you with hints or objectives just in case you forgot or you are not sure where to go =)
Though, at your point, you need to go to the desert which you can access from the other side of the swamp.
Off topic from that ^
Something that I think you should do for the fragmented Rupee system is use the scoreboard via command blocks possibly, because as it is now, I have all sorts of Rupees floating around my inventory, and some are useless until I convert them, which isn't convenient at all =/
Wasnt that the whole point of the psychic fortune person. You go to him and get your fortune and they tell you where you should go. Granted i dont think it actually works in this map. As ive tried it. And it did nothing lol.
