How do you think I feel?

I'd like to note that I'm an avid reader and aspiring author, and my three favorite works of fiction (Take note: Not just fanfiction, fiction in general) are all three fan-written stories set within the MLP universe. Some of the fanart is just absolutely stunning.

What he said about favorite literature. The stories are just some random few hundred word stories like you might find on fanfiction. There's a requirement on fimfiction.net (The place for all things story) that it must be at least 1000 words long. They have a few restrictions which make it so you can't just post a story for the sake of posting a story. Quite a few bad ones make it through, but thankfully not as many as on Fanfiction. For example, some really good ones are "Background Pony" which is about 430k words long. For comparison, the 5th (and longest) Harry Potter book is 257k words long. I've actually helped with a story called "My Second Life" which is 630k words long. Here's some of the best pieces of fanart I think I've seen. (Warning, both are around 10 MB in size)

I'm a pretty big fine of the Fallout Equestria fic... Which already is like, a fandom in a fandom. It's pretty meta.

But if you want to know just how deep things can get look at the general MLP-verse and how deep that is. Then at the Fallout Equestria verse. It started with Kkat. Then it exploded, and now artists and writers and songwriters the fandom over are building the Equestrian wasteland.

    Now THAT is beauty.

Plus somewhere on there a full FO3 and F:NV conversion mod is in the work to bring the Equestrian Wasteland to a PC near you.

Continuing with the fanfiction, Fallout: Equestria as Aaron said is pretty much a fandom within a fandom. You've got the original which is 620k, and then you've got Fallout: Equestria Project Horizons written by someone else which is well above 1,000,000 words.
We're also all crazy. I should mention that.

This brings up my first question, very similar to the one discussed in the thread: why do "older" people get into "little kid shows"? Please note that I am asking why, not if it is normal or not (if that was the case, than why start a new thread (But i do have a poll question on that)?).

Because they can be good. Some people really like positive things, so the themes and morals really do it for them. Some for comedy. Some for the story and characters. Some just because it's cute. But mostly a combination of all these will make a TV show of any sort likable.

So here is my second question: why My Little Pony, of all else? I could see shows like Gravity Falls, Good Luck Charlie, ect. being somewhat popular. But ponies, and rainbows, and friendship?

Because of the exact reasons I stated above, and because it's My Little Pony. People like the idea of liking something so absurd and then showing other people. And that's what started this entire brony idea that over the past two years got really freaking popular.

A quick third question to all "bronies" reading this: Why do you watch the show?

It's a good show. But not only for that. It's also because of the community. If you go to the front page of deviantART, and refresh it, you'll get a pony picture or two on there about every 20 seconds. Granted, they are not always be good pieces, but then you get another one a few seconds later. And then there's the stories, videos, music, sculptures, and other things. As far as I know, about half of the bronies came for the show, and stayed for the community. If the community didn't exist, then not nearly as many people would continue to watch the show.

    Commercials. That.... is bad.

Commercials? As in... YouTube commercials? Or commercials from recording the TV? If the person puts YouTube commercials to make money, then Hasbro would immediately take it down. If TV commercials, most people either record Netflix or they cut out the commercials. If the person does YouTube commercials but DOESN'T make money, then that's stupid. They can just turn commercials off. If that person is just stupid, just look for another one. There's a couple dozen HD recordings of each episode on YouTube.

Oh my God... I think I may have just found my favorite thing ever.
Sweetie Bot + Caravan Palace hell yeah! I haven't fangirled this hard in a while... Well, since I discovered Caravan Palace in the first place, I suppose.

There's another one for the Panic album art, but it's not quite as good:
I do have them both as my album covers on iTunes, for their respective albums, though.

Caravan Palace is the electro-swing group right? I quite like electro-swing. But I don't search for it.

Speaking of that song, did NO ONE mention the official remix Ingram did of it? Geez you guys. http://soundcloud.co...y-babs-seed-sos

Not the same thing. It's not that they transition into each other smoothly, it's that their lyrics and tunes can be swapped with each other. By the way, the same applies for almost any psalm or Emily Dickinson poem.

Darn. That shows how much I suck with music of any kind.
Though I don't suppose this'll do anything for me will it? These are Youtube vids, so yeah. Hopefully you're on something where you can watch them.
Forgive me for the all the pop songs. That's pretty much all I could find. That last one's pretty cool if you guys just skipped over the other videos.

I'll post ones with subtitles from now on with Blaze. :D

    Oh, and silly Galaxyart.

Super fun-time activity: Winter Wrap-up, the Flimflams' song, Pinkie's Singing Telegram and ' class='bbc'>At the Gala are all in variations of ballad meter (for the verses). Sing their lyrics to the tune of the Pokémon theme, Amazing Grace, half of any Christmas songs you know, or the Gilligan's Island theme (among others), or switch their words with each other.

So... is it just me, or is the new song getting just as many--if not, more--remixes as/than Love is in Bloom?

With the huge amount of them I'm seeing on EqD, I think so.

Super fun time activity: replace all uses of the word "crystal" in the Crystal Fair song with "freaking."
Super extra fun time activity: replace all uses of the word "evil" in the Evil Enchantress song with "freaking."

Might have to try that sometime.

So, I have a topic. Daniel Ingram (the composer for MLP) has done the music for many other TV shows, mainly kids' shows and the like. If you're a fan of FiM's songs, would you be willing to watch some of those other shows just for the music? What about just listen to the songs themselves, apart from the show?

Personally, I love MLP's music intensely, but I don't think I'd be willing to listen to this kind of stuff in other contexts. Even for wonderful songs, I often get irked by context and lyrics when they're especially silly or annoying--this happened to me with MLP, too, namely the Cupcakes song and the Pony Pokey (Oink Oink Oink didn't bother me, for some reason), and BBBFF.

No. I would never watch a show just because of one aspect. Just listening to the songs themselves, now that's a different story. If it was of the same quality, and the lyrics weren't absolutely horrible, maybe. Same thing with MLP. I really like to find instrumental versions of some songs, and just listen to those.

    Today on "Brony or Not":

McD is playing commercials on TV where some random people have had their "own" burgers chosen (via a voting system of some sorts) to be served for a limited time in McD restaurants.

So there is a nerdy looking dude with a chicken burger he calls "McHarmony" that he claims is 20% better than the other burgers.

    Brony or Not?

Sounds like it is pretty much a reference. A small one, but still. I'd like to see it. Youtube linky maybe?

Some music from ponyphonic perhaps? He truly makes beautiful music, even with his only three pieces.

Sorry to interrupt. Just here to say Tosh.0 put pony r34 on its new episode today. Apparently EQD posted it, but deleted it after a while. If you want to see it, search for yourself. Bronies Tosh.0 on Youtube should do it. I'm not in a mood to get banned today. Yes, the video is really nsfw and I don't reccomend watching it with anyone around. The uploader also decided to make the thumbnail the bad part, just warning ya. I'd bet its gonna get deleted, so if you do wanna see it, hurry. Please don't freak out. I've had enough for a few days. The best part is, they blamed it on Reddit and not /mlp/.

I've debated with myself whether I should post this here or not, and I decided I will.
So I would think most of you have heard of the about fiveish or so teams all separately working on My Little Dashie films, right? And how it looks like all of them are going to suck or are (or have) giving up? Well it seems I've found one that has some really good potential.

So far, they've spent eight months working on it. They JUST started on the production stage two days ago. And they really didn't take many breaks from it, so they've spent about 240 days just writing the script and storyboarding it. They have an estimated finished date of about April 2013. They're going to release it in episodes, and all together they said it's going to be anywhere from 40 to 80 minutes long. And if you think it's just some random guys that no one's ever heard of, you're quite wrong. Yudhaikeledai ( ) is animating the entire thing, Navybrony ( ) is doing the effects and editing to put the animations in IRL film, Grant Beaudette ( ) to help improve and add on to animation, Rina-chan/Melee Princess ( seriously though what the heck how do so many voices) to do Celestia, and the voice actors from Fighting is Magic to do Applejack, Rarity, and Twilight. A person called IsobelTheGreat is doing Fluttershy and young RD. They got to do regular RD, who despite my not having heard of her, is quite talented. Here's something they made way back in May, just to show that they were definitely trying.
They also made the really well done custom animated promo for Equestria L.A.

Overall, casting complete (Except for some IRL actors), well known talented people in the fandom, very dedicated, reasonable release date, and large amount of work done already.
(oh gawd i'm sorreh for my excitement for this thing)

Here's their tumblr if you want to follow their updates though.
