Remember that Optifine is still in the testing and optimization phase with shaders. It's not going to be fully optimized until it's out of the "pre" stage.

I think you're right since I can do 12 chunks with the newer pre12 optifine than 8 with pre10 while still getting the same 70+ FPS as optfine for minecraft 1.14.4 with 16 chunks.

I am getting 45 fps on average now as opposed to 70+ with shaders in minecraft 1.14.4. Changing from extreme to light shaders has no effect on FPS. My GPU is only being 40% utilized and CPU is at 10%. With minecraft 1.14.4. my GPU was being fully utilized. I have allocated 8GB of ram.

1.8 does not allow you to set it to 32 chunks. It seems when I reply to people's comment it just creates a whole new message

I've downgraded to Minecraft 1.7.10 and now getting 120 fps. Still a bit disappointed as I should be getting much more fps then that. anyway ill just get Optifine and wait for the game to get patched.

    PS

Does a game really have to support crossfire to use it? I thought that The second GPU turns on when needed.

    **Current status**

    #Updating video drivers

#Tried adding more ram to Minecraft=no difference in performance

    #Trying to downgrade Minecraft

#Getting Optifine, not that it should be needed for the pc I got

It just does not make sense, my pc is overkill for this game

The game does not have to support crossfire in order to use the second gpu. The second gpu turns on when needed. I checked my gpu usage on MSI after burner while running Minecraft, and yes both are being used. However when I close Minecraft and return to my desktop the second gpu's usage goes strait down to 0% and is turned off. Also how much fps do you get on your new pc?

So I decided to run Minecraft on my gaming pc. Pretty exited about it due to fact that I previously ran Minecraft on laptop with integrated graphics. I launched the game and checked my fps. It was staying between 30 to 60 fps and at sometimes dropping below 30 fps and lagging. I was running the game maxed out with vsync turned off. Pretty pissed of because I barely got an fps difference from my laptop.
