    posted a message on Calendar item for Minecraft-time passed by.
    Hi there!

    I don't know about you but I like to know how much (Minecraft) days I spend in my worlds.

    So here is it the wish I have:

    The Calendar

    It would divide the time in weeks, months and years. But not the same ones as ours!

    Time division

    A game day lasts 20 real minutes.
    If you noticed, the moon cycle lasts 8 days. So the week is 8 days long - 2h40 real time.
    I personally see the month as lasting 3 weeks for a total of 24 days - 8h real time.
    A year lasting 12 months makes for 288 game days, or 4 real days (good luck getting to 2013)
    Those arbitrary choices are made for efficiency, easy coding, and easy learning.

    Names and specificities

    Weedays: Fur day, Reckon day, Tree day, Forge day, Flint day, Sea day, Diamond day, Earth day (Those are examples based on similarities with their number equivalent)
    Month:I am not sure I see the worlds in Minecraft should start in January, but more in March. What's your opinion?
    Year: Starts on the first year, there is no year 0. The world is created on the first day/year, not on the 0th.

    Craftin'

    I don't know, paper, feather and clock?

    Looks and Usage

    One could hold the calendar, seeing the time written on the paper (Fur day, September 4 0003). On the wall, it would be the same thing.
    "Using" the calendar would present personal accomplishments per date, and could be used for short note taking about what happened that particular date, diary style.

    I like the simplicity of only making one such item with hopefully no need to add textures - Like, it could use the empty map texture with text over it, similarly to the clock, and use the book GUI for diary style.

    I do not wish to make the mod myself, but if there is a huge YES for it but no one to code, I'll try.

    So, what do you think?

    posted a message on More/Better Villages (And not the same structure things, either)
    Hi there, in fact what I posted is a map of the present town constructions, I am currently looking at the code for the vanilla villages and my brain often farts, but I'm getting through it.

    Thunderlord, I wish I could carve the houses from the mountain sides as it would be awesome looking, but I guess this will be for a later version.

    Hi there!

    Here is my world save for the <Towns> mod I'm making https://www.sugarsync.com/pf/D6932154_65712186_346960

    On the left side is constructions that will change by biomes,
    On the right side is housings and wells per towns, each village can have two ways to change its blocks (plain-mountaineous, swamp-taiga, desert, savannah-beach(?), snow-mesa). I will add towns following your ideas.

    Hi there! I am working at the moment on a mod similar to your ideas, so we could work together!

    Nether villages, in the nether or in the over world? We can't have villages with villagers in the nether though.

    I will post the pictures of the constructions.

    It will be hard to make all the different housings, but I keep you posted.

    Hi there! I have a trick for you for that, if you put a slab (top side, not down side) you can open the chest without a problem, and it looks like you have a normal block.

    posted a message on Suggestion for Breaking Bad mod.
    Drugs are bad mkay

    More seriously, why would chemicals end up in a meth lab and then roaming in the streets of Mancraftan instead of being used to create bombs, bleach things, make powerfully strong material, etc.

    While it is true it would be funny to see addicted villagers. But this is more for entertainment and show as show than as play.

    posted a message on [Mod Request] The Ethereal Plane[NOT a new dimension!] [simple concept]
    Do you think you could make the ghost looking more like a villager? Like with the nose and hands? The one you do have for ghost seems more like the mob Apparition (to me anyway)

    posted a message on [Mod Request] The Ethereal Plane[NOT a new dimension!] [simple concept]
    Hey Thanks vritjosh, I did not see somebody had a similar idea as the one I proposed :D

    One would access the shadow world by using a portable portal crafted from an eye of ender with a clock (yeah, that or something else).

    It would change the texture to mainly just black and white tones;
    It would have misty water, and won't affect the players moving through;
    Villagers could wander as ghosts above ground;
    Villages (And anything made of wood and cobblestone) would be translucent (if possible);
    Lava would be blue, and applying a regenerating enchantment to gears.
    Nether monsters could span in this side of the over world.;
    The gravity would be forgiving, making falling slower and not dangerous (if possible);
    The blocks and ores picked from one dimension can be placed or used in the other one;
    An item could be feather sandals from flying creeper, which can make those who wear them fly like in creative mode;
    Snow is black and deadly;
    Ghostly spiders would shoot sticky goo that slows you down before attacking;
    Amethyst (healing properties) ore could replace lapis lazuli, as would quartz (=nether quartz + other properties) with coal,
    Etc.

    posted a message on Shadow realm. Same world, different spawnings/looks/dynamics
    I was looking at the different world generation processes out there but haven't found what I want to see come to life.

    The exact same world created and modified with the players' intervention, but its "shadow", dynamically different, version. A change in one affects the other.

    posted a message on [Idea] Clocks, Compasses and Maps
    I guess if we turn the compass and clock can be turned crafted into "watches" (crafting them with like one piece of iron for the bracelet), and those watches as soon as created would be incorporated in the view as long as it stays in the inventory, kind of if you were wearing it, so if you want to not have the view, put the watches in a chest. So it would not be exactly permanent, but one does not have to actually hold it to see it.
    Talk about other uses, why not have an alarm setting? Or having the compass go weird near metallic ore?

    As for maps there are mods for seeing current minimap, I think one of them is called Rei minimap. But yeah similarly I'd like to have maps continuing to build as we move without having to hold it in the hands.

    posted a message on Automatically filling Maps while not in hands
    Hi there!

    There always has been something with those silly maps. You have to hold them so they can fill themselves.

    Would there be a mod that allows the maps to be filled as we are walking but without the need for us to hold them?

    I understand that the more maps the person has, the more it means to load and check if the present position is so I'm not sure how this would work from the inventory.

    Also I don't know if this one is impossible, but wouldn't it be great that if filled as much it can from what was already been explored before the map was created?

    Thank you!

    posted a message on Limited Worlds
    Hi there, I have in fact wanted to see a limited world a bit like you want, because near infinite is way too big.

    Not sure if this goes in your sense but here is my Proposal for a disc world-like generation, where the world would simply stop rendering after a circle of the size of the biggest map, making the lore of the flat-world-on-the-turtle true! I'm looking into coding this so, yeah, wish me luck.

    In it as well, someone was proposing a limited and looped world, but don't know how to code this.

    posted a message on To the World's Ends! (Discworld-like Finite Generation)
    Thanks codebracker, that's the name I was looking for :D

    The other problem is a finite looped world's limit have to coincide with each others, and I would prefer to not alter the game physics too much.

    But passed this, In fact those two ways of having a finite world can be done as separate mods, or even as the same if a modder is willing to work on this!

    It would need a choice at the world creation, like [Infinite|Looped|Disc].

    I see why you think of this and I have been thinking similarly, but I like the myth of a Flat world over the Turtle.

    Also it seems much easier to code a finite world than a looped one, and it gives possibilities to out-of-the-world exploration like moons, other planets or even stars, while the looped one makes us stuck on a single planet.
