Hey no worries it's end of semester for many including me I mainly have language classes so I'm not so much in the rush of term papers.
Are they that valuable? Cause I really like the style it makes for swamps, dark and eerie, for both the well and the roads. Otherwise it could be dark wood all around.
Graveyards and all generic constructions (left side of the wells) will randomly spawn in the towns depending if we allow it for the biome or not. Same for the pyramid but the pyramid is the type of temple that spawns in deserts, instead of a church.
Cool! Personally I like to see those "villages" as, like, a hundred years from the first villages of the game, so there are diversified and - in general - more populated, so they can now bear the name of <towns>.
So if you make anything anything interesting please post it and I'll add it to the schematics What's your likes and dislikes yet?

Nov 13, 2013B77 posted a message on [Texturers and Modelers Needed] The Legend of MinecraftFor the temples, I can imagine them as a block of 3 rooms by 3 rooms by 3 rooms of fixed size, randomly chosen and assigned from a bigger set (where sometimes the rooms take the place of 2, 3 or 4 rooms) with locked doors connecting them in a certain order towards the big boss' room.Posted in: Requests / Ideas For Mods
By the way, since the worlds are all randomly generated, it may be hard to get all elemental temples to show up in a small range. Do you want only one elemental temple of every kind to show up?
You may want in that case to make sure it does not become a specific map generator so it must keep some form of accessibility for general gaming.
I'd personally be happy to wander the world and fall upon special mobs in a biome near their temple, but I don't want to relentlessly try to find that last, only, and way-too-far-cause-of-randomness Light temple in order to make the light arrows in order to beat the big last boss to beat the game.
Still, interesting loots to get when beating bosses could be a creeper hat where creepers wouldn't try and explode if worn majora's-mask style, a flute of travel which brings you to different points link-to-the-past style, Winged boots for feather falling, and so on.
For villages and city ideas, I shamelessly self-present a mod I'm working on/with that would spawn more varied <towns>.

You might want to correct the topic when you say "I give the creator my credit", you can only give them credit
Otherwise I like the idea of having more temples than jungle's and desert's, more mobs and more villager races (small elves!) spawned per biome, but trying to do too much at the time would not only be inefficient, it would also make it too specific.
You might want to check and see if this mod could go hands in hands with other mods but may not need them to fully work.
Nov 13, 2013At first when I saw coloured Glowstone, I thought you meant the lamp, which seems very nice indeed! As in, you may add a dye to the lamp so it differs in light.Posted in: Requests / Ideas For Mods
I have the impression though that varied generated glowstone with their own light colours with get blended too much, unless the whole patch is of one type when they generate...
What kind of potions do you see from the different glowstone dust dyes?
Nov 13, 2013Hi there,Posted in: Requests / Ideas For Mods
In fact there is a few options already present for you, like Millenaire. I am also participating in a mod creation where the villagers would not change but the villages would be "a few generations later" so bigger and more varied. Town Mod.
But what you may want to work on is a different kind of villager making, so it could be interesting to specifically work on that, new villager types based off the one that exist already.
Nov 13, 2013Cool! I can look into that ambient light. I like the idea of arriving to there by death in general, and one would have to go back to normal by making a portal to the over world, even though this makes it even gloomier than I first thought. Sleeping in the end makes it a bit strange way to arrive there but why not. There could in fact be more than one way to trip on the mirror to the other side.Posted in: Requests / Ideas For Mods
Just thinking. We could trade with creepers the same way as with villagers, since they're cooled off.
Nov 12, 2013Well I guess not all blocks would need to be redefined, like stone, bedrock, endstone, woods, and leaves and a few others, so not everything would have to be reinterpreted.Posted in: Requests / Ideas For Mods
Or would they have to be redefined at all? I mean, if a block is placed in the over world or the shadow world, it still is placed in fact in the over world, so if one places a shadow's element in the over world, it will look like its normal element in the shadow world.
The main change would be when it is "picked". When you pick something in the normal world, it gives you the actual block. But if you do it in the shadow world, it gives you the opposite of what it really is, although as a player you don't notice the swapping.
Also, what do you think if any wood and leaves are pass-through? As if they are simply a remnant of the normal word? So you can't pick them but hey, free moving in the forests!
In the same idea, villagers may continue to roam normally, but they are translucent and cannot be discussed with. So you're as a ghost.
Saadar: In fact the idea is that it should not be another world generation, but the same one, but if you have ideas on how to make the world existing look eerie and shadowy, I'll be happy to hear! Est-ce que tu parles français par hasard? Si oui c'est ma première langue
You know what, the opposite of darksilk should be... DIAMONDS!! *evil grin* choose well your pick
Nov 11, 2013It's cool! It's better when brainstorming to say all the ideas, cause otherwise we'd miss opportunities. At first I was thinking more a shady version of the world but when you talked about the sun being black it helps set the world's mental image.Posted in: Requests / Ideas For Mods
In fact, darksilk would have to be the shadow version of something that is already existent in the world. Imagine that Water becomes Mist, Coal becomes Crystal, Iron becomes ??, emerald becomes ??, lapis lazuli becomes ??, diamond becomes ??, and redstone would be the darksilk. So nothing is changed from the original world but block names, game physics and texture.
So where the portal would bring? you could only enter a sort of aether (paradise) from the shadow realm, as the nether (hell) for the normal world?
Nov 11, 2013Hey again. Here is some images of some of the present constructions. The [For posterity, I apologize if the links are broken in a few months from now]Posted in: Requests / Ideas For Mods
Series of Image that I can't upload directly on this forum
Schematics of a Town Basis if you want to make your own (Use MCedit to copy in a flat world and when done, send the link to the schematics with an image)
Present Map of the villages at this point, give your comments.
Let's state a MAXIMUM of 14 possible Towns (Let's forget the Jungle for the moment). Each has only one possible variant bringing the total to 28 which is quite a lot more than necessary, but it doesn't hurt too much to be extensive.
Same thing for generic buildings, which can spawn in any town but some more likely than others. There will be a total of 7 big buildings (including windmill and castle), 14 medium sized (Forge, stable, Condo building, etc.) and 28 small decorative constructions (Housette, Portal, Statues, Hay stack).
So let's make each of the Towns clear by giving them names, biome(s), General blocks used, General block variant, preferred accompanying building.
Plains: Oak Wood, Wood planks, Cobblestone and White Wool.
Sunflower plain: Birch wood/plank and yellow wool.
Preferred buildings: Forge, Stable
If somebody wants to make a village, keep the style of the biome in mind.
If somebody wants to create a generic building, mainly use oak woods, cobble stone and white wool so the building can have those blocks changed to fit in the Town.
Oh and before any propose, I am sorry but basements will have to wait.
What's your impressions?
Nov 11, 2013Well, so far the main logic for easy making of different village types is thatPosted in: Requests / Ideas For Mods
- Houses have 6/5, 8/7 and 10/9 base (the front door side has one block in the street for stairs to door, lamp, hanging roof, etc.)
- Temples when present are 17/17.
- Generic constructions (forge, stable etc.) are 12/11
- Generic small constructions (Town's portal, statues, etc.) are 5/5
- Generic big constructions (castle, cemetery, windmill, etc.) are 17/17 like the temples.
Each Town type has a specific lamp post, road block as well as a road block up (I hate having to jump on a street instead of casually running like a freak). I would like the ability to add city wall even though I don't plan doing so till much later.
So I'll post a schematics for the basis of each town, (3 houses, 1 temple, 1 road, 1 road up, 3 wall pieces, 1 lamp post) if anyone wishes to make their own so we can see which is best.
All chests should be filled with stuff that you may want or not but that would make sense in the biome. Only 2 to 5 slots will remain in.
The actual coding will take a while to do, especially for the jungle villages (which will come later).
As for backyard addition, beah I like the idea but it adds too much complexity. And I have a windmill in the map I sent
Nov 10, 2013Hi there!Posted in: Requests / Ideas For Mods
Reversing everything would be a bit too much everything, and maybe make it less interesting to evolve in. But counter knock back, reversed enchanting and
A sun causing darkness and caves causing light seems interesting though. As for the ore emitting darkness, me like dat!
The cube of lapis lazuli would affect the world generation, in fact, each ore should have their "shadow" equivalent, but remain where they are, and if you pick darkness ore, it picks their opposite in the world (redstone ore maybe)
Nov 10, 2013Furniture! If you noticed in the map, there is already some trials in the houses.Posted in: Requests / Ideas For Mods
If you do know how to make schematics of houses, send some with pictures.
For compatibility, as long as we are not creating any blocks, it should be more or less fine. Other Mods' biomes can be included in the town's creations.
Nov 10, 2013Well, <villages> are made from doors having an in-side and an out-side, so technically carved villages could be done, but it would be a different principle that I sincerely don't have any clue on how to do it.Posted in: Requests / Ideas For Mods
Rich, poor and mediocre village are more after-thoughts from the style of houses and random creation of houses and chest fillings. I like how random generation makes us see what we want to see Also, the biome already gives a general wealth impression.
What would you think of a town carved in a huge tree? If somebody is good at making a natural-looking
great deku treeold tree, I'd like to use that to carve in living places at different levels and connecting those places together with outside stairwell. This would be a rare occurrence as the "village" would have only one outlook.
