posted a message on Texture Packs Showing Incorrectly With or Without McPatcher or Optifine
I recently had to re-install my version of Minecraft due to a strange crashing issue that happened whenever I exited a world. It solved the issue very nicely, but now I have an issue where my preferred texture packs are not displaying correctly at all.

[Preferred Pack is currently Conquest (stand-alone without the addon-packs)]

These are the things that I have done to install the packs:
    1. Load up a 1.8.1 version of Minecraft
    2. Install latest version of Optifine
    3. Load in Resource Pack
    4. Look at world in dismay as it isn't loading correctly.
    5. Double check options - see they are correct
    6. Uninstall and re-install Minecraft
    7. Try it again with McPatcher instead

It appears that the lighting isn't working properly? It looks as if there is no smooth lighting, but when I double-check the options, smooth lighting IS turned on.

The strangest part of all of this, is that I also notice the view-port image that usually displays is missing too. I forget what it is called, but the part of the screen that is slightly darker in the corners? Conquests is fairly noticeable, and it is not there at ALL!

I have also tried installing Minecraft from the .exe and the .msi, and redownloaded the texture pack even.

The pack was completely fine before I reinstalled Minecraft. And the only mod I ever had was the latest version of Optifine.

    Hope someone can help~

    Thanks!

posted a message on I play on (difficulty) because...
I actually play a hybrid of peaceful/normal. I only recently stopped being a complete wuss and decided to man-up and play on Normal. My current (and only) world that I have (started upon the update of 1.5) is that sort of hybrid... Currently it's on peaceful 'cause m'just in the mood for building. But a while ago I spent hours bein' all MANLY and attacking them Creepers. :SSSS:

    I'll blow it upppp~ Every mountain~ Every valley~

I think it's kinda neat how people tend to play differently than each other. They all have their own styles. My family member that I got hooked on Minecraft plays it differently than I.

    :]

posted a message on When will the rain come?!?!
I'm actually wondering if it's biome-specific randomness (if that makes any sense), since my world it's rained at least four times and for a very long time too each time. I wonder if that's to do with my biome... or I've just been incredibly lucky. It would make sense that different biomes had differing weather patterns, but I'm not sure if that's been implemented any farther than snow vs. rain.

    Just be patient, I suppose!

posted a message on World-Specific Stats?
Yeah! I hope it gets implemented, it makes more scene, and hopefully it wouldn't cause too much of a programming program to implement.

I get sort of specific whenever stats are implemented in a game.

I did, however, learn that if you delete your ".minecraft" folder and re-install, your stats get reset (I'm sure there's an easier way). So after I experimented with how stats work (they do not go away if you just delete the world), I decided to just work on ONE WORLD and then the stats would be accurate.

Hopefully this'll get added~ Since I can't really see a downside to it, eh?

But regardless of what Mojang does, I'll be extremely happy! :biggrin.gif:

posted a message on World-Specific Stats?
I was wondering if anyone was like me, liked the Stats, but wished that there could be World-Specific Stats as well as Global Stats.

It doesn't ruin the game for me, but I sort of like having things like that grouped within their own separate worlds, and I was just wondering if it'd be implemented or if other people agreed with me, eh? Since I don't really want to have my Stats for two separate worlds merged together, especially if I have different goals in mind for each of them.

    Thoughts?

The Stats are NOT world-specific which really makes me pretty upset because I'd like to see what I've done PER WORLD not globally. I guess I won't care about the statistics of things. What if I've decided to use a world just for test-runs of things? Then my count is all wonky and I feel like I've cheated somehow.

Why couldn'tve stats been PER WORLD too? I don't get it. :/

Otherwise it looks neat, and has anyone noticed that the side grass texture is now fixed?

posted a message on Question, how many pieces of redstone for full stack?
I think it hardly matters what the OP thought it was CALLED (I myself call it Redstone in my head anyway despite I know it is really a 'dust'), the question has been answered.

    64

Which is the meaning of life, the universe and everything in the world of Minecraft.

Most items can be stacked in groups of '64'. There are, however, objects excluded from the rule; like tools not being stackable alongside food-items and I believe snowballs have a decreased number as well as cookies. There are probably others.

But to answer your question. 64.

If your world existed BEFORE Beta 1.4, then you will have to explore and load new chunks for a chance of finding the elusive Coca Bean. Otherwise, all chests and dungeons pre-existing will not have the treasure you covet. I know that I probably won't find any Coca Beans in any dungeons in my pre-loaded areas, but I bet if I explore a bit...

... I will find the abilities to make cookies! :biggrin.gif:

Oie, that's probably it....and I've been working on this map and exploring for quite a bit. I guess a good old fashioned hike is in order. A really, really far one. Really far. I can't even remember which direction I might not have explored too much. But at least I have hope! Thanks!

I find my favorite form of exploring with the intent of just 'discovering' a new area is to dig deep... then dig a very excruciatingly (insanely) long tunnel in an arbitrary direction, then dig up and see what's there. If you ever DO pursue this, I hope you don't have the unfortunate happening of opening into the ocean!

    Happy wanderings.

posted a message on What difficulty do you play on?
I used to be really wussy and play on Peaceful. It was only in the last month that I decided to actually play on Normal, and I realized how much more FUN the game is when you have the challenge of enemies and it sort of makes you decide better priorities. I found I got really bored really fast and I never designed cool buildings because I didn't have a reason to sit in a place and cry for a while as creepers came at me.

... still a bit of a wuss when I see caves though.

There be creepers in there! D: :SSSS:

I'll continue to play on Normal for now because it's just what I need. :] Helps me to set goals~

Everything looks REALLY awesome so far!

I've been checking around the forums, and I can't see if there's any confirmation if the stats are TOTAL between all your worlds you've ever played (from the update on) or if there are statistics for EACH INDIVIDUAL WORLD. I'm... I'm anal like that. And if that's not the case, I'll shrug it off and still play Minecraft. But I'd totally prefer the stats to be able to be organized 'per world'.

Gosh, this looks REALLY awesome. Nice interface!

I'm guessing achievements will be global, and stats will be both per world and global, depending on where you look at the list.

That'd be definitely nice! Though I'd still like to see if Achievements could be per world too. I mean, that way, you can see what you achieved in THAT world. But... XD I know that's not very likely! I just like to think of it. As long as the stats can be per-world, I'll be a very happy Minecrafter...

... if not? Oh well! I'll be off to continue digging. :]
