I don't know if it's just project Ozone 2 or the mod in general (seeing as you have customization) but this just comes off as a way to troll people... almost everything seams pointless or completely game ruining. I've not seen anything worth braking these things open for worth risking it.... I got blazing promethim droped from the sky once but thats still not that grate as it was one unit of it and it rained down on the spot.

I would like to see something like a way to save them up and combine them with eachother for better odds, and if there all mostly bad things anyway a way to just craft them..... because if your willing to risk the pain for a chance of reward why not?

I would also like to see a high tier modifier adding material.

Maybe something added through thaumacraft research that you must make the nautral ore clusters for it in the infusion alter. Thus justifying it having +mods and a higher damage/durablity/ect

Funny fact, I thought this up because I wanted there to be able to be a 60+ block deep ocean, and STILL have plenty of room under that for vast cave systems. I honestly would be happy with say 3 times the limit instead of limitless, and limitless isn't really the goal of the 3D chunks idea. The main two goals is A- allowing hight to be what ever you want it to be... ether set by player or mods, and B- Allow cool things like 3D biomes. So you could have a ocean a good 5 or so 163 chunks deep and under it have room for 5 to 10 more chunks of cave systems and other biomes.....

A third thing I though would be cool would just be to have the nether and end not be other dimensions. Sure you could no longer use it as a shortcut, but if you where having trubble making or finding the portal you could all ways just dig down deep enough or build up high enough.

yah the smaller a chunk the less of them you have to load..... I did some orginal math when I first perposed it, and there should be some math in the OP or some of the first few posts

but if all works out you would load like only 1/3~1/4 the number of blocks as before

The mod that makes it so tools level and parts can be replaced when fully repaired is awsome and I would love to see it made part of the normal mod.

I think it would be nice to see a crossbow. Making one should require a lot of parts and behave like one... instant powerful shot with a reload time and shorter range. Also a compound bow using metal parts would be nice, more power and range but takes longer to draw.

it would be nice to see more craftable upgrades like the sticky and lava gem. maybe even tool/weapon specific.

like say a redstone accelerator or magnet for tools and redstone powered gears for bow/crossbow. Luck gems made of lapis, clovers, and gold nuggets? Hehe

idk but I like the idea of crafting an upgrade rather than just adding x material, not that couldn't be used to power an upgrade once applied.

I don't know what mod it was but there was one that the armor came with some free mods, a small built in protecion like leather armor and some tinny little buffs the boots let you walk up 1 block high and dear lord you have no idea how nice that is till you have it the. Lose it

out of like 30 or 40 mod packs I've looked I've only seen Project E in one, and Project red in 3 (mostly the kitchen sink ones)

I personally think Project Red should be as standard as NEI or Forestry is used. It just makes using redstone so simple. I simple NOR gate compressed still takes some space to make it fit where you want it some times, and just one thing out of place or set up wrong and the whole thing is broken. This makes it just one little block, that the only thing you can get wrong is hooking it up.

I'm a little to bisy to look for links right now, but there is Botania Natural Magic, and witchery. Botania Natural Magic I have plaied around with a little and is interesting and has quite a lot of stuff you would see in such mods, done by flowers. O.o hehe

So if you like flowers, Botania Natural Magic is the way to go, or if your just looking for something diffrent.

Witchery I haven't poked around with much but I've seen pasive mobs and stuff like little stone henge places, they are just like "you know nothing of the art, be gone" though.

So here are my first two:

    Project Red

    Forum page

    Website

This is an amazing mod I see no reason why everyone shouldn't be using it. It is the revival of an old mod that stopped getting updates what WAS almost universally used. This mood allows you to turn red stone into wires that can go hundreds of blocks. These wires can be color codded and the colored wires can take up the same block with up to, I think, 8 separate lines of red stone going through a single block with out crossing signals. To make things better these wires can run along walls, around corners, and on the roof. On top of that the following logic gates are turned into single block panels similar to the red stone repeater, thus between the wires and the logic gates saving MASIVE amounts of space and time building red stone contraptions:

OR Gate, NOR Gate, NOT Gate, AND Gate, NAND Gate, XOR Gate, XNOR Gate, Buffer Gate, Multiplexer, Pulse Former, Repeater (Better version), Randomizer, RS Latch, Toggle Latch, Transparent Latch, Light Sensor, Rain Sensor, Timer, Sequencer, Counter, State Cell, Synchronizer, Bus Transceiver, Null Cell, Invert Cell, Buffer Cell, Comparator, AND Cell, Bus Converter, Bus Randomizer. And if you ask they will make and add a gate for you!

Finally there are a few other addons like various forms of redstone lighting, and stuff like buttons that toggle like switches and can be light up when there on.

I don't see how anyone could NOT want this mod. o.o

    Project Exchange (Project E)
    Forum page

This is a remake of the Equivalent Exchange 2 mod, anyone not familiar with this mod it allows the production of a philosophers stone, and then the production of a transmutation table, and finally magical gear.

The philosophers stone allows you to turn metals into higher grade metals and then diamonds, as well as turning coal into alchemical infused fuels that burn much much much longer.

The table allows you to brake items down into energy and doing you 'learn' that item. Any table then can use the energy in it to produce a learned item from that energy. Meaning you could turn dirt into red stone, though not at a very good rate as it don't take much energy to make dirt but it takes a lot more to make red stone. This however takes obsidian, diamonds, and an rediculous amount of coal/charcoal to make so it's a late game item.

However later in the game things can start to get a little cheesy in the ability to make almost anything you want for free, as there are ways to turn sunlight into energy.... this is streamline slow at first but with lots and lots of work can lead to making stacks of diamonds.

This is an fun mod to have and helps with resource problems, particularly on maps with stuff like biomes a plenty and lots of biome specific items needed. This way you only have to find the biome and get the item once to learn it then any other item can be turned into that one.

The main thing I like about it is if people produce the large scale energy production facilities, this can bypass the need for strip mining. Meaning no laggy quarries tarring masive uggly holes in the land.

IF you do use this mod I HIGHLY suggest you play around with it though and give yourself the endgame items and deside if you want them used. There are alchemical implosion devices that are as destructive as nukes. (though all the items are colected and no radiation). The destruction catalyst is just as bad, cutting stuff like 3x3x30 or so holes into things, and minning tools that distroy 5x5x5 chunks. Finally there is a ring that sets EVERYTHING on fire around you when it's on....... Yah some useful tools.... but it's a greefers ideal grabbag too. They may take a long long long long time to get up to the point you can make them, but thats never stooped people from nuking some ones house ether.

So it's an awsome mod but server admins becarefull about what items you let get used, some of the high end ones are not community friendly in the wrong hands.

I though it would be interesting to get some insights on mods people don't use much, but (In your opinion) probably should, and talk about them.

Please include the name of the mod, and a link to it's sight and/or forum page, along with a discription of what it dose and your review of why you think others should use it.

Please keep things civil, I'll try and come back and put together a list of the suggestions from time to time if I can. I don't know if I'll have time much but i'll do my best.

actually where is the guy that originally made this suggestion?

I poke my head in every now and again. But IRL is bussy and depressing, lol. I like to play minecraft heavily modded too and that can be a strain on the computer and leads to crashes and lags after a while, and some times i get fed up with minecraft for a while. So yah, don't poke around on the forums some times for like a few months before I get into minecraft again then I start popping in and out again.

The way we have figured to handle this is simply have blocks with nothing in them load like one block would.... in a way..... the chunk when updated see's it's empty and marks itself as so. This saves some of the power put into light.

The next step of it is basicaly each block is 16x16x16(+1) with an exstra plane at the top of the chunk that is just a copy of the lighting data from the bottom plane of the chunk above. Any time a chunk update happens it updates lighting (but only that lighting plane) on every chunk bellow it till there is 0 light. This means one chunk has the light data of all the chunks above it.

Now to deal with floating structures and overhangs created by the world gen that's easily delt with by making a limit to how much a shadow a block can cast..... eventually a block high enough is going to be high up enough that you can just in it. (perfect showding would just be imposable) so it only has to load chunks the first time up so many chunks (maybe around 10? thats still less than normal) so going into a new area above ground will have the same lag as normal minecraft, but once it's loaded your back to having less lag.

You can also work with the way lighting works so that light from a sorce decreases going down if the block above was surounded (8 blocks on level with it) by less fully light blocks than non fully lit blocks.... and goes up or stays max if surounded by more fully light blocks than non fully light...... .

I know i'm not describing it well, but it's a some what complicated but not too laggy work around for lighting.

That's likely not EXSACTLY how it works I know, but that was the Idea I had that people worked off of and some with the codding know how has figured it out i'm told.

But the main thing to take from it is, one chunk has the lighting of every chunk over it factored into it and saved on it in a simple format.
