    Quote from Eriottosan

As CC isn't released in any form, I wouldn't feel right about accepting donations at this stage (and indeed, may feel guilty, meaning I spend more time on it than my degree - perhaps not a great idea). I may well set something up once people have something to play with, but I'm not gonna be asking - however freely given - for people to help fund a computer :P

It's rare to find someone so honorable today. Sorry for not posting earlier. Had some RL issues (especially two wisdom teeth removed chirurgically - still healing). And I pretty much left Minecraft alone after 1.2.5 :P

Anyway, I wish you best of luck. Also, I don't consider doing all by yourself an obsession - sometimes if you do something, it will be done right. I found that out too often at work...

But as it turns out my new mod setup doesnt hold a candle to what I had going for 1.2.5 considering many of the mods are early in the development cycle, dont have much content and are prone to bugs.. I decided to put 1.4.6 on the backburner for now and return to this one. Not having to reconfigure anything is fantastic.

    Amen to that, brother.

I much prefer my 1.2.5 world to new versions of the mods. It's more stable, has Aether, has full Thaumcraft, has full Equivalent Exchange, has bug-free Millenaire...

Better in almost every way :)

I am no way involved in this mod's making, but I get the notion that you'd better write about your coder/modeler/texturer qualifications than a few extra emoticons :P It tends to better advertise your plea.

Heh, oddly enough, my sister made that same suggestion last night. You guys have great timing! ;)

Every time you mention your sister, I think of Shion :P Oh well.

Some mental pathways last forever, I guess.

There are different kinds of "fun" that varies on every single person. Because of that, we are individuals.
Some people like challenges in games and arent statisfied with placing fancy blocks.

I agree, but was rather distracted by his strong vocabulary :P

Edit: also, the Chapter of Holy Balance is very vocal. And they won the last round (EE3, TC3). I am providing a counterstance - for balance :P

To be fair, it feels less cheaty to me in TC3 than it did in TC2 -- thus far, it's not really possible to destroy your world with Thaumic research, so having an 'escape world' doesn't feel like a betrayal of the point of the mod. My morals have also taken a step back, since I have a LOT less free time, lately, so it's much harder for me to acquire materiel 'legitimately' (in my original world).

"Morals", "cheaty", "betrayal", "legitimately", oh please :P Look at your own vocabulary.

This is a sandbox game, but you elevated it to something it isn't. People play games for fun, not some quasi-religious experience. A lot of us want (gasp!) to build or try out new fancy blocks, and not work hard for something that isn't worth it. I work for a living, solving real problems (like making financial and cadre modules without any support) and after that, I want to relax. Simple as that.

You just add a whole number of insulty-like labels to what is harmless fun. Shame on you :P You'd like for all to toil in sweat and trouble for a block of dirt.

Edit: actually I worked so hard a few months ago I had to visit a doctor. Yes, the only thing after overworking I seek is a "good hard game, with lots of hard work and toil". There are real challenges in life. Games are for fun. You try to sound "tough" by speaking about "morals" or "cheating", well, that doesn't work so much :P I find here a lack of perspective.

He's basically spiting forge and everyone involved with it, essentially saying "Use my mod, and noone elses, because my tech literally won't let you". Not to mention he's been a bit of a hypocrite.

Edit: Deleted my previous post. FlowerChild can defend himself for all I say, thank you :)

    Well, I see that's 25% complete for a reason :)

Old TC2 had many devices and means for manipulating auras of vis and taint, which made for a fantastic gameplay. Started a new world in 1.4.5, made the first wand, then got stuck on lack of cows (hurray Mojang for tweaking the book recipe, you rule...). I guess I'll still stick to my developed world for 1.2.5 with the city I build around my magic tower :P

Also, people have never been in the end or found stringholds in Nether? Locating fortresses is easy with Thaumcraft items. Just fly around on a magic carpet and eventually you'll find one. And about the End... you're missing the Enderdragon. Oh, the mods that allow for riding it... :)

Please stop being obnoxious. Demanding about updates in caps can get you banned if a moderator sees this. Plus it's really irritating. You're spamming the thread...

If this mod is dead, then it's sad, but people have lives outside Minecraft too. They can choose to abandon their work anytime they see fit :)

The mess with BFW is so convoluted right now, that any trolling will come out as legit.

Better with Forge is set to enter it's closed Beta and suddenly Eloraam is available to work on RP2, while there is an unknown modder with the trust of all major forge personages who has worked flat out for a considerable time COINCIDENCE???? I think NOT!!!

You got right that Better with Forge is closed, all right :P And as it should be.

I think it's just a coincidence. Please don't accuse Eloraam of something so morally bankrupt as reverse-engineering and copying someone's else whole mod against his wishes without any proof whatsoever. It's just a wild speculation, and not kind. It's a serious, and ungrounded, accusation.

Programmers have a lot of time taken and that's normal. There is nothing suspicious with Eloraam having not enough time before.

Edit: stated the point more clearly.

And I'm glad you felt the need to join the BTW forums to post support - FC needs all the support he can get, I think, to deal with such a
    horrid situation.

Indeed. There is one thing that bothers me to the point of blood boiling. It's injustice. And worse, a hypocritic injustice. I don't care who is the object of it - it shouldn't be.

    Quote from Eriottosan

I think discussion of such things has run its course for this thread, though. I don't want to risk drawing the fight here if someone searches it, and it's no longer pertinent to the development of the mod.

Yes, lest we become swamped :P I've seen some threads I wouldn't like spiling out here...

Mm, legal or not, it's immoral. Take solace in that it's not the entire Forge team, or the entire Forge community. Quite frankly, that's the only way I've managed myself from scrapping CC over this.

And yes, FC may have said some immature things. But you can hardly blame him. After all, he's only human. In general, to be honest, I think he's handled the whole situation rather maturely. And I say that because I really doubt I'd be able to handle it as well as he has if I were in his shoes.

You shouldn't scrap CC for any reason. Forge in itself has done a lot of good. I personally think it went over to their heads - they're too full of hot air right now and think they can get away with anything. The way I see it, it was all cleverly engineered - LexManos promoted the mod, but denied official involvement, they launched the smear campaign on FlowerChild, and even if BWF won't be officially included within FTB, Lex and Slow will go great lenghts to enable it to run smoothly. Ugh, dirty politics.

Also, I understand why FC is so angry. He spent a lot of work making BTW, and now someone just wants to take all his work from him. And I've seen what some people are saying about FC just for defending his own work - it's frankly disgusting. LexManos is on the level of Zynga now, who takes successful small games and clones them, then makes a load of money. Well, Zynga got a lawsuit for all their sins, and I hope Lex gets all the dirt he frankly deserves :)

Ugh, I glanced through the BTW forum and this is simply unbelievable.

I thought FTB was legit, and made by the modders for modders. What I see is another Tekkit, but with self-righteous attitude.

I've also read the IRC logs. While FlowerChild acted a bit immaturely a few times (I mean, swearing), what Slowpoke and LexManos are saying is really worrying. Lex shouldn't in any way endorse of describe BFW in a public video and then deny involvement. As a head of Forge, it was a wrong way to do it. And Slowpoke said this:

"(10:16:30 PM) slowpoke: we both know, nothing you can do, can prevent this from happening."

Very very mature and moral indeed :) My way or the highway. I think I don't want anything to do with Forge mafia in the future :)
