At layer -64, I've run into void. That is - it ACTS as void by getting rid of all items and doing 2 hearts of damage a second, but I can keep mining (assuming I manage to survive somehow).
thanks for the very cool mod. I'm loving the tech-centric angle and the creative new creatures added.
My only compatibility issue is that I'm also using a water shader mod and the cyber trees I guess use the same shader as water so get funky. No fault of either mod, just something for some to consider.
The water shader mod is incompatible with nearly everything, including modloader.
It's only in its alpha stages.
Good lord only 30? D: keep at it and trust me... you'll have WAY more then needed. Nice speed boost though ;3 wish I had some more creativity to decide to build something epic with this sexy stuff rather then just mine. Also try adding some to the ceiling might help speed it up even more~
Eh, I'm getting more. I just started up that map, and was messing around inside of my 3x3x2 dirt house while waiting for day to come around when I found out about the speed boosting.
I'll try making one way hallways and elevators next, since they'll still push you in the direction they face if you collide from behind.
Yo, found an epic use for the slider shells!
If you have a 1x2 hallway, preferably with walls, you can line the floor with them (every other tile seems to work well for me, if you want a moderate acceleration) to make a MASSIVE speed boost. I've been playing legitimately, so I only have 30 or so of them in a row (60 block tunnel), but it still manages to get me moving far faster than I can really count.
I have a suggestion: Make the recipes give a few more blocks.
6 stone and 3 iron to make one block is pretty expensive - could just as easily go down into a cavern and mine Obsidian.
Same goes for the glass and iron.
Careful, the Automatons mod might catch up in terms of robot complexity. You should keep ahead by making the human cities actively search the area and kill Dread Swarm mobs when possible :tongue.gif:
I'm kinda learning a bit about modding lately, and I was wondering if I could get in on this project at some point.
Right now, my comp is running an operating system that doesn't work with MCP, though, so I'd not really be able to do much other than basic textures for a good while.
I've always loved post apocalyptic stuff, and this looks far more interesting than that Wasteland generator that's already out there (small mod for basic survival, doesn't actually add anything to gameplay).
An idea: Perhaps scavenger bots would be an interesting addon. Hovering neutral/friendly mobs that float about with a search light and attack with a small energy weapon? They'd pick up any and all items and blocks on the ground that they find, and will attack mobs for their loot. On death, they'd have a chance of dropping a power core and some of what they've stolen.
Actual guard bots - combine parts from the Watcher with a humanoid robot design and you'd have a bodyguard type bot with an energy attack - pretty much just a bipedal sentry with a ranged weapon.

Any fixes?

I've been using Duplex blocks with Cement to make near instant buildings :biggrin.gif:

Could be helpful. I second this.

I think he means that he'd like to be able to build houses for the NPCs to move into, perhaps by placing a sign or something in a building. Dunno.
I'd love to see the Millenaire mines occasionally (VERY rarely) producing Iron and Coal, too.

Alternately, only make them spawn on grass OR in darkness.
That'd solve the problem of Sliders spawning inside houses.

I'm currently taking a short break from Minecraft. Massive headache @.@

Yeah, plenty of people are usually on.
I just so happen to still have school stuff to deal with.
I'm generally active between 4:20 and 9:45 PM, GMT-5.
