Seems like placing *any* block adjacent to the piston at any point in time at all causes the signal that doesn't actually touch the piston in any way to trigger the piston. This happens even when I remove the block on top of the piston. After this bug starts, it doesn't revert to not triggering the piston that's nowhere near the signal until I break the signal that's causing issues.
This is making it extremely difficult for me to design my slightly-more-compact-than-usual TNT shotgun cannon.
So recently, the game known as Starmade was released on Steam (finally).
I'm taking this as word that the devs are confident it's in a point in development where it can handle new players.
Starmade is a block based game, much like Dwarf Fortress, Infiniminer, Space Engineers, and yes, Minecraft.
Yogscast did a few videos on it about a year and a half ago, then a lot of the players that surged from it left because the updates lacked content (the engine was still being fixed up to where it needed to be, and the dev couldn't afford to focus on new blocks for several months).
But recently, in the past seven or so months, the game has changed dramatically. There's far, far more depth to it than there used to be. I'll let the trailers speak for themselves.
Give it a try, you might like it. The "demo" that's available on Steam is the full game - it'll just stop being updated at some point in the future. Or, you could just google it and get it from the main website.
In case of trolls, no, Mojang doesn't own copyright on "dirt", "rock", "mountain", "grass", or "voxels"
I am running Minecraft 1.4.6 with Forge Universal.
The mods I have at the moment are as follows:
Redpower 2pr6 (all modules)
Industrialcraft2 1.112
Flan's Mod (with Simple Parts and WWII packs)
Millenaire
The Campfire Mod Universal
For some reason, whenever I die, I am getting the message "Your gamemode has been changed" - immediately after this message, I am no longer able to break any blocks unless I am specifically using the tool for that block and nothing else. No particle effects, no breaklines, nothing appears at all when I swing my fist at a block. I can still hit mobs and break plants with my bare hands, but nothing else whatsoever.
I'm in the process of creating concepts for a new dimension, which I have decided to call the Eternal Caverns, until a better name is found/suggested.
IN PROGRESS:
Base Code for Mod - Dimension, Texture Management, Materials
TO DO:
Blocks
Liquids
Items
Mobs
World Generation
The dimension is going to be accessed through a hand-crafted portal, made with blocks lovingly crafted by you, the player. The blocks will be a deep, moldy stone color, coated in vines, and the portal will be activated by right clicking with a piece of glowstone dust.
The dimension is, of course, going to have several different biomes, which shall be added in order of whichever I feel like adding first.
The initial stages of the concept art for the first biome - the deep jungle. The concept art is nowhere near complete, of course - just gives a basic idea of the color schemes and the style of trees.
For size reference, the undertree lighting is to be a 2x2 block structure.
SO!
On to the current ideas for the mod.
Blocks
Deep Jungle Grass
Mud
Glowroot
Moss (snow-like partial block, can be collected with shears)
Tree Shrooms (half block to be found jutting out of the side of the tree
Thick Vines (acts as a ladder, even when hanging freely)
Jungle Water
Melt Stone - Pre-melted by the hand of time within this dimension. This stone used to be solid, brittle, and wonderful for construction. Now, it's started slowly breaking down into fluid.
Lightning Rock - Extremely rare, found atop spires in the second biome (concept incoming). Emits electrical arcs, connecting to any iron bars, iron blocks, and other Lightning Rocks in the area. Can be disabled with a redstone signal.
Cage Lantern
Mobs
Pirahna-esque fish, possibly a river Anglerfish?
Tree Slug - Only moves on vertical surfaces, drops slimeballs and slug flesh.
Garlok - The natives of this region. Tribals, living in yurts in clearings inside the deep jungle. Neutral, can trade.
Enderhag - Remember the Green-Eyed Endermen that used to walk the overworld? They were driven away, into hiding, by the Endermen of the End. In hiding, they mutated to suit the environment, and have developed a minor society of their own. They are, like their End cousins, neutral until looked at. The difference? These are bigger, more grotesque, and use ranged attacks. As opposed to their End cousins, they will only move imported blocks, rather than the materials of their world.
Scorpion - Mechanical mayhem, found in the second biome coming up.

Yeah. So stupid. I put it up on MegaUpload at http://www.megaupload.com/?d=0EMCTIZ6 (because it's the only other one I have an account with). I should spring for my own site at some point to stop this nonsense.
As much as I hate this kind of suggestion, it's probably possible to split up the mod a little bit into a core file and a few different power management addons, then use adfly links to support the website.
Edit: Ah, and thanks! Been trying to get into Industrial Rage for a while now, and this is the last thing I needed to install :biggrin.gif:
Hey, for some reason the Mediafire link to download the Power Converters mod is broken.
It sends me to Mediafire just fine, but the download link IN the Mediafire link is giving me a Broken Link error.
Could you please fix this, or is it just me that's having the problem?
I hope this is compatible with OptiFine and Minecraftforge when it's released. I'd love to see what could be done between this, Better Than Wolves, and IC2

Tried a torch-based AND gate, but the signal delay prevented it from relaying a rapid pulse.
Ended up just turning it on its side with a sticky piston, since it seems it only works when the triggering signal is *above* the piston...

Is there some way to force the piston to retract again when the signal that's going *directly* to it disappears?

Had a very strange error here.
Crashed due to a nullPointerException at mod_Flan.onTickInGame
No idea what would cause it.

It's got a conflicting ID with Better Than Wolves, Industrialcraft, etc.

8 Obsidian for a single block is absolutely insane, I feel.
Perhaps have a recipe that calls for 4 Obsidian, 5 Glass, to make 5 blocks?
Also, a recommendation - Use the same recipe for Obsidian Bricks, Shrapnel Wool, whatever you'd like.
Only real need, IMO, is to have dye-able blast-proof solid bricks and easier to make glass.

Wheee, errors and crashes.

Perhaps for the time being you could use Rapidshare or something as a placeholder until you get it working with Mediafire again? :I

Desert is only good for sand mining.
...Mountains just plain suck.
