Here is a guide for port forwarding minecraft on your router. Read it and you should be fine, it has PICTURES!
The above post should help with setting up the server files so I'm not going to cover that. Also if your firewall usually only blocks the traffic if you use hamachi to host, so it shouldn't really matter that much.

Jul 17, 2013I think you should try to set up an actual server that you can get from the Minecraft website. It'd be easier to test with because setting up a LAN game with a server just requires that you know the local addresses for the computers on the network. I found that the LAN connection was quite buggy when I tried to play with my brother a few days ago in 1.6.Posted in: Server Support and Administration

Why not use the leather dying system for dyes and wool in general? There are 16 different dyes, but you can't mix them. If you can mix colors for leather armor, you should be able to mix them for wool and dyes.
I would assume the reason why you can't do that to wool blocks it due to the way that blocks are rendered in the game. The textures are almost all pre-made with color, the exception being grass, and the textures are placed onto the block depending on what their ID is in game. Wool Blocks currently share the same ID and have separate damage-values to distinguish them ranging from 0-15.
The way the code is know it would take A LOT of effort to add in 4 million other textures and extend the wool block damage-value to be from 0-4000000. So they'd have to redo a bunch of code to make one "small change" and I just don't think that will happen.
Also if they did the same texture method as grass then a lot of the lighter/darker wool colors would look crappy.

It still lags on my pc
Note: EVERYTHING lags on my pc
I agree with you on this point. The nether lags my PC to hell once I start loading in chunks.
I get +200 FPS in the overworld otherwise. They may have claimed to have fixed the lag but it does not seem to be the case.
It makes sense that the nether will probably never get to iOS.
Nov 10, 2012I wouldn't call this awesome but its decent for passing a few minutes.Posted in: Maps
I didn't spawn in the correct room, so luckily cheats were enabled and I flew there.
With only 3 levels its really short and I completed it with only 3 falls.
It's of decent quality so 3/5 stars.
It's not terrible it's just not long enough to be considered great (4/5) or even awesome (5/5) like the description said.

You'll need Skype.Posted in: Java Edition Support
Sep 8, 2012I've got an HP laptop with the same graphics as the one on your list. It has the best graphics out of all three laptops. My laptop can run sonic ether's shader mod at 4-5 FPS. None of the other's have competent graphics units.Posted in: Hardware & Software Support
Basically in unmodified minecraft you can probably get a framerate of:
(Not an estimate)
