If you're playing a more recent version, you can turn on subtitles, they will give you a general direction of where a sound is coming from. Stand in one spot and watch where it indicates a sound is coming from, then dig a little that direction, 20 blocks or so, and stand and wait for the sounds to repeat. Eventually you'll get to where they are, then dig up or down.
Or just cheat and use spectator mode.

I'm playing on the VMC-Tec server with TecThor and all the other tecnocrats! This time, I put my foot down about all these anonymous gifts I've been getting, and also turn that outdated villager holding cell in the bay into a secret harbor!
The playlist will be updated as new episodes come out: Click me!

Looks good to me One of the issues you run into with overworld railways is mob spawns, and it looks like you have that covered with an elevated road and a 1x1 space for the rails (which mobs can't spawn on). The design looks good aesthetically too, though I would personally probably use stairs on the angled pieces. It looks fine without because it's a long and smooth angle, but stairs are just a trick people use in Minecraft to mitigate the blockiness. It also helps with that mob spawn issue that you've placed the lanterns down for: mobs also can't spawn on stairs.
A couple of suggestions to maybe help with the transportation: you can combine minecarts and chests in your crafting grid to make a minecart chest, which you can then send on your rails. I don't know how long your road is, so if it passes through any unloaded chunks, the chest cart will freeze there. Solution: accompany the chest carts on their journey.
Also, have you ever used shulker boxes? They're an end-game kind of tool (as in, you have to actually go to The End to get them), but they're basically like portable chests. You can fill 'em up and break them, and they'll keep their inventory. Pretty good for transporting large amounts of material at once.

My favorite trick for making shapes in Minecraft is to open MS Paint. You can select the exact size of the canvas in pixels using the "resize" option. Choose your shape, decrease the line thickness to 1, and draw your shape into the canvas. Now you have an image you can copy pixel-by-pixel into Minecraft.

I wouldn't trust it at all. Reviews can be written by the people who are doing the scamming to try and make it look real, so don't trust that, either. 3rd party sellers are illegal, so as webrosc said, report it to Mojang, and whatever you do, don't give the third party your information.

Thank you! That's a really great trick to know!

I've seen a wither strategy on youtube that I haven't tried myself yet, but it looks effective. They spawn the wither underground in a small room (like, just big enough to hold it), and the room is connected to a long 1x2 tunnel. The person hangs out in the tunnel. Then, the person just runs up, hits the wither, and steps back for the wither to explode a layer of stone down the tunnel, without taking damage. Rinse, repeat, the wither is dead.
If you try that, definitely look it up before risking anything, because again... I haven't tried it and I might not be seeing the whole picture, lol.

All the best to you, too!
I agree, I would definitely like a mode that's similar to normal, but with the option to starve to death. Even playing in normal mode, I still make farms and keep myself fed because I like to regenerate my health, and if you start starving, you still take damage down to a very vulnerable state. It adds a little more urgency, though, when you know there is a very literal risk to your life by not eating, and not just because you might get shot by a skeleton on your way to the kitchen.
It would be very cool to have an "extreme" difficulty mode like you're describing, and put some of the elements you mentioned (like thirst and food spoilage) in just that specific mode. It would definitely add a lot of challenge and interest to Minecraft that isn't really there currently.
To be honest, though, even if we had an "extreme" difficulty available, I would probably continue to play in the current selection of difficulties. Yes, they're easy, but I like it that way because I like to focus on building, even (and perhaps especially) in survival mode. The described mode would be frustrating and detrimental to my play style, rather than make it more fun, which is the point of adding challenge to a game. I would probably still create a world with this difficulty, though, just to experience a different play style and enjoy more challenge to the experience.
All that to say, yes, I agree with what you suggest. I like the concept of adding another difficulty that's much harder, rather than changing the current hard mode.

Personally, I usually play singleplayer on normal difficulty, mainly because I get annoyed with zombies knocking on my door, lol. I don't find hard mode that much more difficult, though, and I do actively play on a server that's on hard difficulty.
One thing about difficulty, though: if you're planning on converting zombie villagers for the lower prices, you definitely want hard. The conversion rate (from villager to zombie) is 100% in hard mode, and only 50% in normal mode.
